Robert L. Stevenson, age 77 of Stevenson Road, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Monday, August 29, 2005 at 5:55 p.m. in the Chicora Medical Center.
Born June 27, 1928 in Meridian, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Lloyd E. Stevenson and the late Helen Hilliard.
Mr. Stevenson owned and operated the Stevenson Family farm in Connoquenessing Township. He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church. Mr. Stevenson was known to his family and friends as Uncle Bob. He was a member of the Connoquenessing Fire Department, member of the PA Farmers Association and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving in the Korean War.
Mr. Stevenson is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Turansky of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Wanda Stevenson of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Carl (Jean) Daubenspeck of North Washington, Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stevenson was preceded in death by one infant brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, September 1, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the St. John's Reformed Church on Friday, September 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Robert C. Peterson and Mr. Stevenson's nephew, Reverend Kevin A. Neal, pastor at Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church in Aliquippa officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Sarajane "Sally" Mills Berry
December 29, 1924 - August 27, 2005
Sarajane "Sally" Mills Berry, age 80, of Cowansville, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 6:15 p.m. at her residence
Born December 29, 1924 in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Carl and Sara Jane Cousley Vogtsberger.
Mrs. Berry owned and operated a mobile home park, and for more than 40 years, she also owned and operated restaurants and lounges.
She was the first female crossing guard in Allegheny County and the first female manager of Rose Drive-In Theater in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also was a poodle breeder and a bus driver for the South Butler School District.
Mrs. Berry was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Butler, Pennsylvania. She was an active den mother for the Boy Scouts for years, was the first female den mother for Webelos and received an Eagle Scout pin.
She enjoyed crafts, traveling/vacationing, decorating, cooking, rug making and her home in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Berry is survived by her husband, Robert W. Berry, Sr.; her five sons, Stan, Ed and Pat Mills, all of Butler, Pennsylvania, Jock Mills of Wattersonville, Pennsylvania and Robert W. Fay-Berry of Dubuque, Iowa; a daughter, Sarajane Mills Elder of Butler, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by a sister, Marie Pane of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania; two half-brothers and two half-sisters, William, Richard and Carla Vogtsberger and Virginia Rupert, all of Pittsburgh; and a number of nieces and nephews.
An infant son, a half-brother, Carl Vogtsberger and one grandson, Christopher, preceded Mrs. Berry in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Timothy Manwell, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Royal Cemetery, Allegheny County.

Mary Grace Swierk Santypal
February 25, 1924 - August 26, 2005
Mary Grace Swierk Santypal, age 81, of Abilene Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 26, 2005 at 10:07 a.m. at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Born February 25, 1924 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of James and Marjorie Neil Kile.
Mrs. Santypal was Protestant by faith.
Mrs. Santypal retired as manager of men's wear department for Value Fair Department Store in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was a member of the AARP.
Mrs. Santypal is survived by her husband, Peter J. Santypal, who she marriage on September 28, 1972; her son, Aleck (I. I.) Swierk and her daughter, Sandy Swierk both of Valencia, Pennsylvania; her one granddaughter and three great grandchildren; her two step-sons, Earl Null and Dick Null both of Cuyahoga, Ohio and by her six step-grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded Mrs. Santypal in death.

Elizabeth J. Oesterling

Elizabeth J. Oesterling, age 78, of Highland Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 26, 2005 at 1:15 a.m. at her residence.
Born August 7, 1927 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John H. and Bertha Thurston Harkins.
Mrs. Oesterling attended Wesleyan Methodist Church.
She was a homemaker. She loved to crochet and she made beautiful christening gowns. She loved being with her family and she looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Oesterling is survived by her husband, John H. Oesterling, who she marriage April 10, 1946; two sons, John H. Oesterling, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne of Orlando, Florida and Dean Oesterling of Butler, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Janie Douthett and her husband, Carl and Carol Oesterling both of Butler, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and six great- grandchildren; her brother, Jack Harkins of Sarasota, Florida; and her aunt, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Sarasota, Pennsylvania.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 28, 2005 after church at noon and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend James Lynn, of Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Ronald C. Hoffman
August 30, 1945 - August 25, 2005
Ronald C. Hoffman, age 59, of Morton Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 5:10 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 30, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the son of Floyd C. and M. Jean Beltz Hoffman.
Mr. Hoffman was Protestant by faith.
He worked for the Liquor Control Board and retired May 17, 1996 after 26 years of service. He was a member of Joseph T. Black Post #249 V.F.W., a member of the American Legion Post #117, a member of the Slovak Club, and he was a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Hoffman was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in Vietnam on the USS Ticonderoga (CVA-14).
Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife, Sandra Bash Hoffman, who he marriage on November 1, 1980; his daughter, Teri Jean Hoffman of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. William (Jean) Stutz of Butler, Pennsylvania; his sister, Mrs. Robert (Georgean) Abels of Churchville, New York; his brother, Mark and his wife Judy Hoffman of Butler, Pennsylvania and by three nieces.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 28, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with lay minister, Ginger DiTullio, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
The V.F.W. Post #249 will conduct military honors at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
