Kathleen A. Buczko, age 46 of Center Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, October 21, 2005 at 6:30 a.m. in the North Hills Passavant.

Born July 22, 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of David R. Murphy, Sr. and Jacqueline Monpere Stewart.

Mrs. Buczko was a housewife and billing clerk for AT&T. She was catholic by faith. She was an avid bingo player.

Mrs. Buczko is survived by her husband, Ronald Edward Buczko whom she marriage on February 2, 1996, by four daughters, Mary McMillion, Melanie Buczko, Melinda Buczko, Nicole Buczko; one son, Gregory Buczko all of Butler, Pennsylvania; father, David R. Murphy, Sr.; mother, Jacqueline Monpere Stewart; three sisters, Jacqueline Saks of Squirrel Hill, Pennsylvania, Diane (Dolly) Drexler of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, Donna Murphy of West View, Pennsylvania; one brother, David Murphy of Millvale, Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, October 23, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church on Monday, October 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Father James W. Dolan of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Sharpsburg.

Frank C. Kellen

July 27, 1912 - October 19, 2005

Frank C. Kellen Jr., age 93 of South Drive, Shanor Heights, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 1:42 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.

Born July 27, 1912 in Clarksburg, West Virginia he was the son of the late Frank C. Kellen and the late Margaret Walters Kellen.

Mr. Kellen was a bookkeeper for Ray Andre Tire and also had been a salesman for Nationwide Insurance, retiring in 1976. He had been a member of the former Calvary Evangelical Presbyterian Church and attended the Church of the Living Word. He was a past member of Kiwanis, The United Commercial Travelers and The Odd fellows.

Mr. Kellen is survived by two daughters, Joyce Shoemaker and Mrs. Gary (Joan) Swanson both of Butler, Pennsylvania; by four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Moxey of Concordia Lutheran Home; one brother, Henry Walter Kellen of Charlotte, North Carolina and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kellen Jr. was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora G. Phipps who passed away on December 18, 1996, and also by one great grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, October 23, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, October 24, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend William Glassman of the Church of the Living Word officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Carl H. Halstead

March 16, 1921 - October 18, 2005

Carl H. Halstead, age 84 of East Cruikshank Road, Valencia, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 6:15 p.m. in the U.P.M.C. Shadyside Hospital.

Born March 16, 1921 in Clinton Township, Butler County he was the son of the late James G. Halstead and the late Bessie Leslie Halstead.

He attended the Rocky Run Elementary School in Clinton Township and the Butler High School.

He was employed by Spang and Company in Butler and Wilson Machinery Company in Grove City, Carl was veteran of WW II where he enlisted as a bandsman in the 704 Air Corp Band and was in Europe during the liberation of France and Germany. The band played for many special occasions and for many funerals. His time of service was from 1942 thru 1945.

Following his service time, he was employed at the Butler Savings and Trust Bank (now Union National/National City) and the South Butler Branch as well as the Bon Aire Branch.

He was active with the PA Horsemen's Association as a representative at the Meadows and the County Fairs of Pennsylvania. He has been a horse breeder and raced trotters and pacers in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, New York and Ohio. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and the Pennsylvania Horsemen's Association, a 50-year member of the United Commercial Travelers of America, the AARP, and a 1998 Butler County Voter Hall of Fame Inductee. He and his three brothers sang together as a quartet for many functions. He also sang in the Sarver Community Choir for about 50 years and the men's chorus until recently, especially for the Easter Sunrise Service in the Saxonburg area in many churches and later at Knoch High School. He had been a member of the Middlesex Presbyterian Church for many years where he was the Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir. Since 1989 he was a member of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and delivered Meals on Wheels.

Mr. Halstead is survived by his wife Mary Esther Halstead, they celebrated 54 years of marriage this September. He is also survived by one brother, Howard Leslie Halstead; eleven nieces and nephews, nineteen great nieces and nephews, six great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Mr. Halstead was preceded in death by two older brothers, Clair and Paul.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 22, 2005 from noon to 2 p.m.

Services will be held at the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Greg Weist of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, Southern Butler County, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, Pennsylvania 16059 or to the church of your choice.

Thelma Maxine (Dolly) Duffy

February 20, 1923 - October 18, 2005

Thelma Maxine (Dolly) Duffy, age 82 of 118 C. Villa Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 9:15 a.m. in the Saxony Health Center.

Born February 20, 1923 in New Castle, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late William L. Bixler and the late Edice M. McCleary.

Mrs. Duffy was a homemaker and she was protestant by faith.

Mrs. Duffy is survived by one daughter, Marsha and her husband Ronald Weleski of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sons, Jack D. Staeger and Timothy F. Duffy both of Butler, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Shawn D. Staeger, Brian L. Staeger, Scott W. Staeger all of Texas, Randy E. Scott, Lori L. Peiffer, Cassie R. Grossi all of Butler, Pennsylvania; nine Great Grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Duffy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Duffy who passed away on July 20, 1995, by one son, Gary D. Staeger, one son-in-law, Edward W. Scott, Jr., one brother Ralph M. Bixler, and one sister Carol E. Husing.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Thomas Patrick Lehner

October 29, 1937 - October 17, 2005

Thomas Patrick Lehner, age 67 of Jill Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, October 17, 2005 at 12:31 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born October 29, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Eugene G. Lehner and the late Rose Butler Lehner.

Mr. Lehner worked in the kitchen for Butler VA Medical Center; he had retired in 1999 after 10 years of service but recently had returned to work there. He had worked at J and L Steel from 1967 to 1981 when the plant closed. Mr. Lehner attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1955-1959. He loved hunting and fishing.

Mr. Lehner is survived by his wife, Darlene Bowser Lehner whom he marriage on November 4, 1961wife, by one son, Scott A. Lehner of Moon Township, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Brian (Kimberly Sue) Saunders of Grove City, Pennsylvania; for grandchildren, Josh Saunders, Micah Lehner, Tyler Scott Saunders, McKenzie Saunders; one sister, Linda Brinker of Hawthorne, Pennsylvania; one brother, Frederick and his wife Mary Ann Lehner of Petrolia, Pennsylvania; and also by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lehner was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Patrick Lehner, Jr. and one brother Joseph H. Lehner.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend John E. Neyman, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Mary Jane Cowan

November 13, 1945 - October 10, 2005

Mary Jane Cowan, age 59 of formerly of Standard Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, October 10, 2005 at 4:20 p.m. in St. John's Specialty Care Center.

Born November 13, 1945 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Frank Manganell and the late Mildred Antonelli Manganell.

Mrs. Cowan was a graduate of Point Park College. She had worked in various retail sales positions for the majority of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, and the Butler Single's Club.

Mrs. Cowan is survived by one son, John Brunette of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, one brother, Jim Manganell of Hazelton, Pennsylvania and by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cowan was preceded in death by one brother.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 22, 2005 from noon to 4 p.m.

A memorial mass will follow at the St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. Interment will follow in.
