Ada Charlene Reddick

Ada Charlene Reddick, age 59, of Evergreen Court in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, died Friday, November 11, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Care Center in Mars, Pennsylvania.
Born September 10, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Walter R. and Mary F. Anthony Baumgarten.
She had worked at Quest Diagnostics and formerly worked in the laboratory at Butler Memorial Hospital before her retirement.
Mrs. Reddick was a member of the Women of the Moose #64, the Multiple Sclerosis Society and various bowling leagues. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge.
She was a Byzantine Catholic.
Mrs. Reddick is survived by her son, Roess M. Reddick of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; her brother, Raphael Baumgarten of Tionesta, Pennsylvania; her grandson, Casey, and by two nieces and one nephew.
Mrs. Reddick was preceded in death by her husband, Meldren “Buddy” Reddick, who was deceased April 20, 1998.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, November 14, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Barry Keurulainen, of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Albert C. Uhl, Sr.
December 27, 1935 - November 11, 2005
Albert C. Uhl, Sr., age 69, of Trinidad Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, November 11, 2005 at 11:52 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 27, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of A. C. and Daisey Mingler Uhl.
Mr. Uhl was protestant by faith.
Mr. Uhl was self-employed as a diesel mechanic. He previously worked for DuBrook and Lakeview Golf Course. He served with the Civil Engineer Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters. Mr. Uhl was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. .
Mr. Uhl, Sr. is survived by his wife, Mary M. Nicolazzo Uhl whom he marriage on October 22, 1956; his daughter, Mrs. Michael K. (Robin) MacLean of Alexandria, Virginia; his two sons, Albert C. Uhl, Jr. of Boyers, Pennsylvania and Ricky A. Uhl of Butler, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his three sisters, Betty M. Ardery of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nancy L. Argosti of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania and Diana A. Rice of Oceania, California; his two brothers, Anton C. Uhl of Cheswick, Pennsylvania and Eugene R. Uhl of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Two brothers preceded Mr. Uhl in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, November 13, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Community Alliance Church on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Thomas of Community Alliance Church officiating. Interment will follow in Saxonburg Cemetery.
Erla R. Bigley Simmer Hollefreund
September 18, 1914 - November 5, 2005
Erla R. Bigley Simmer Hollefreund, age 91, formerly of West Metzger Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 5:15 a.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born September 18, 1914 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Edward Elton Bigley and the late Eva Viola Bredin.
Mrs. Hollefreund was a homemaker. She attended Faith Fellowship Church.
Mrs. Hollefreund is survived by one daughter, Carole Porter of Butler, Pennsylvania; one son, Frank a. Simmer, III of Bakersfield, California; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, one step-daughter, Barbara Hollefreund; two step-sons, Thomas and William Hollefreund, six step-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren, one sister and one brother.
Mrs. Hollefreund was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank A. Simmer, Jr. who passed away in 1970, by her second husband, Walter A. Hollefreund who passed away in 2003, by one daughter, one sister and five brothers.
There will be no public visitation or services. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Catherine Rumick
April 10, 1931 - November 2, 2005
Catherine (Allene) Rumick, age 74 formerly of Howard Street, Butler, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. in the St. John's Specialty Care Center.
Born April 10, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late William Riggle and the late Margaret Flickinger.
Mrs. Rumick was a retired data entry clerk for Office of Personnel Management, Boyers, Pennsylvania. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Rumick is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Gloria Jayne) Anderson of Jefferson Borough, Pennsylvania; two sons, Jeff Rumick of Tampa, Florida, Timothy Rumick of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Ben Rumick and Jessica Rumick of Tampa, Florida; and one sister, Mrs. William (Gloria) Trempers of Greentree, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Rumick was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Rumick who passed away on April 10, 1991.

Reverend Dr. Richard K. Kennedy
May 30, 1921 - November 1, 2005
The Reverend Dr. Richard K. (Dick) Kennedy, age 84 of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of West Deer Township, died Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at 9:30 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
Born May 30, 1921 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Karl S. Kennedy and the late Frances McMurray.
Reverend Kennedy was a retired Presbyterian Minister. During his ministry he served the following churches: Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Vandergrift, PA, from 1944 to 1950, First United Presbyterian Church, Crafton, PA, from 1950 to 1956 and the East Union Presbyterian Church from 1956 until his retirement in 1993. He was Pastor Emeritus at East Union Presbyterian Church in West Deer Township. Reverend Kennedy was a graduate of Westminster College and Pittsburgh Xenia Seminary. He was awarded his Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Westminster College in 1958. He was a member of Beaver-Butler Presbytery and he enjoyed reading, traveling and golfing.
Reverend Kennedy is survived by his wife, LeeAnna B. McColgin Kennedy whom he marriage on June 28, 1945, by one son, Karl Edgar and his wife Nancy Kennedy of Valencia, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marsha Lee) Crall of Chicago, Illinois, two grand-daughters, Elizabeth Ann Kennedy Patel and Pamela Beth Crall Landsteiner; two grandsons, Daniel Edgar Kennedy and Timothy Scott Crall; two sisters, Jane Lorris and Ruth Hill both of Butler, Pennsylvania and by two nieces and two nephews.
Reverend Kennedy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kennedy.
There will be no public visitation.
A Memorial Services will be held at East Union Presbyterian Church, 292 East Union Road, Cheswick, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.

Martha Thomas
January 9, 1909 - December 30, 2005
Martha Thomas, age 96, of Sherman Avenue, East Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, December 30, 2005 at 1:20 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born January 9, 1909 in Dubois, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Amos DuBois and Sarah McCloskey Gilbert.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker. She worked in the custodial department at Castle Rubber Company in East Butler, Pennsylvania for 22 years before her retirement in 1974. She was a member of the American Association for Retired Persons.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by three sons, Fred D. Thomas of Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, Harry R. Thomas and James A. Thomas both of East Brady, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Janet) Nocera and Mrs. Eugene (Mabel) Hays both of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Donald (Sarah) Bortmas of East Butler, Pennsylvania; 26 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and a number of great great grandchildren; two brothers, James Gilbert and Kenneth Gilbert both of Dubois, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Burris of Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs. Marjorie Hoffman of Rochester, New York and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Harry Thomas, died September 12, 1946. Two sons, a granddaughter, a grandson, two great great grandchildren, two sisters, seven brothers, and three daughters-in-law also preceded her in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, January 2, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mary J. Sickles, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
