Karen R. Clever, age 59 of South Woodlawn Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 11:50 p.m. at her residence.
Born October 22, 1946 in Greenville, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of David L. Anderson and the late Helen Bollenbacher.
Mrs. Clever was a member of Meridian U. P. Church and a former member of Hill U. P. Church. She taught Sunday school and vacation bible school. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1964 and was an alumni of Edinboro State College, class of 1968. Mrs. Clever had been a schoolteacher at the Easter Seal School in Hickory, Pennsylvania. She also taught first grade for the Butler Area School district at the former Lyndora school and was a substitute teacher for many years. Mrs. Clever was a Girl Scout leader trainer for Keystone Tall Tree Girl Scout Council and a Girl Scout leader of Troop #431. She was a former member of the Junior Women's Club and was a past chairman of the Hollyberry. She enjoyed doing genealogy, making crafts, sewing, nature, her cats and most of all the time with family and friends.
Mrs. Clever is survived by her husband, Dennis E. Clever whom she marriage on August 22, 1969, a son, Matthew Clever of Reisterstown, Maryland; a daughter, Mrs. Eric (Laura) Greco of Imperial, Pennsylvania; her father, David L. and his wife Martha Anderson of Greenville, Pennsylvania; a sister, Rebecca Bidlack of Jacksonville, Florida; two nieces and one nephew.
Mrs. Clever was preceded in death by her mother.
A Memorial Services will be held at the Meridian United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Stephen N. Cahoon of Meridian United Presbyterian Church officiating.

Helen Vargo Pansky
September 28, 1909 - December 16, 2005
Helen Vargo Pansky, age 96 formerly of West Sunbury Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, December 16, 2005 at 11:55 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born September 28, 1909 in Keenan, Washington Township, Butler County she was the daughter of the late Stephen Vargo and the late Elizabeth Vados.
Mrs. Pansky was a homemaker. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, a former member of the Thiel Woman’s Club and member of the Lutheran Woman’s Association. Mrs. Pansky attended Butler Business School and was a graduate of the Butler Beauty School. She had worked as a beautician at the Jean West Beauty Shoppe.
Mrs. Pansky is survived by three nephews, two nieces and by numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pansky was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Thomas Pansky whom she marriage on September 9, 1930; he passed away on June 22, 1993, and by one sister and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James W. Dollhopf of First English Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Wilma J. Manuel, age 74 of North Elm Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 12:35 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 11, 1931 in Vinemont, Alabama she was the daughter of the late James J. England and the late Velma Sinyard.
Mrs. Manuel worked for Bon Ton in Butler and as the assistant manager at Eiben and Irr until they closed. She was a member of North Main Street Church of God. Mrs. Manuel was active in her church and in the lives of her grandchildren.
Mrs. Manuel is survived by her husband, Jack L. Manuel and whom she marriage on November 21, 1953, daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Jody) Crouse of Butler, Pennsylvania; son, Mr. James G. Manuel and his wife Carol of Butler, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren: Joshua Manuel, Tyler Crouse, Jeremy Manuel, Spencer Crouse, Fletcher Crouse, Caitlin Crouse, Jenna Manuel, sister, Mrs. Thomas (Celia) Caudle of Vinemont, Alabama; brother, Mr. Huey D. England of Cullman, Alabama, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Manuel was preceded in death by one brother Larry England.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 15, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, December 16, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kenneth C. Hall visitation pastor at North Main Street Church Of God officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Esther Sylvia "Nana" Parmentier
December 31, 1923 - December 9, 2005
Esther Sylvia "Nana" Parmentier, age 81 of Grubbs Road, Wexford, Pennsylvania, died Friday, December 9, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. at her daughter's residence.
Born December 31, 1923 in Pasau, Austria she was the daughter of the late Leo Ebner and the late Anny Nopp.
Mrs. Parmentier was a sales clerk for Trader Horn retiring in December 1999. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of North Hills. Her family was her love especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She graduated from Huntington High School. She enjoyed driving her Healy. She was a member of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) of the New York Region. She and her late husband were locally famous in the world of sports car rally’s.
Mrs. Parmentier is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Debbie) Keck of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sons, Jan Christiaan Parmentier, Jr. of Long Island, New York, Jon Keith Parmentier of Westland, Michigan; six grandchildren, Kimberly Lelay, Brooke Carey, Monique Parmentier, James Kristopher Parmentier, Brian Thomas Parmentier and Emily Esther Keck, one great-granddaughter, Maia Pauline Lelay, five nieces and nephews; and one sister, Maude St. Jean of Connecticut.
Mrs. Parmentier was preceded in death by her husband, Jan C. Parmentier who passed away on May 28, 1997.
There will be no public visitation.
A Memorial services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dennis Krajacic of Community Alliance Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Erla Belle McCandless Peth

Erla Belle McCandless Peth, age 82, formerly of Double Road, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Friday, December 9, 2005 at 3:40 a.m. in St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars, Pennsylvania.
Born August 7, 1923 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Furher McCandless.
Mrs. Peth was protestant by faith.
Mrs. Peth retired in 1988 from Saxonburg Ceramics following 22 years of service. She was formerly employed by the Butler Bantam Car Company. She enjoyed bingo and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Peth is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Pennington of Evans City, Pennsylvania and Linda Hopper of Bruin, Pennsylvania; three sons, Ronald and his wife, Elaine, Peth, Walter and his wife, Frances, Peth, and Larry and his wife, Beverly, Peth all of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; her sister, Marion Grubbs of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania and by four nieces.
Her husband, Robert D. Peth, who was deceased June 23, 1976, preceded Mrs. Peth in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, December 12, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. with Reverend John Hoogerbrugge, chaplain of St. John's Specialty Care Center, officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Christena E. Filges
September 19, 1916 - December 6, 2005
Christena E. Filges, age 89, formerly of Center Drive, Chicora, Pennsylvania, currently a resident of Chicora Medical Center, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at 7:20 p.m. in the Chicora Medical Center.
Born in Great Belt on September 19, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Henry Strobel and Amelia Wagner Strobel.
Mrs. Filges was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and her pets. At the medical center she had many friends and enjoyed the activities there, especially playing cards.
She is survived by her husband Everett Filges; they were marriage on December 25, 1938, by two daughters, Joyce Reeves and her husband Donald of Chicora, Pennsylvania, Lois Bell and her friend Joe McCrea of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, two sons, Dennis Filges and his friend Marge Watterson of Chicora, Pennsylvania, David Filges and his wife Evon of New Kent, Virginia, twelve grandchildren, Kevin Reeves, Karen Fencil, Kelli Rensel, Mark Reeves, Gretchen St. Clair, Erin Dumbaugh, Eric Dumbaugh, Brian Filges, Christine Filges, Ashley Filges, Adam Filges, and Alex Filges, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Laverna Check of Great Belt, two sister-in-laws, Gertrude Barnhart of Concordia, Cabot, Pennsylvania, Mathenia Strobel of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Filges, one daughter Linda Filges, four brothers and two sisters.

Strobel officiating. Interment will follow in the South Cemetery, Butler, Pennsylvania.
