Dorothy M. Croup, age 94 of Brown Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, February 19, 2006 at 2:46 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 5, 1911 in Penn Township, Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late C. Edwin Daubenspeck and the late Dora B. McClay.
Mrs. Croup was a secretary for Doctors John L. Wick and James Brown retiring in 1984. She had also worked for Bauer Pharmacy. She was a member of Middlesex PCA Church, formerly of Calvary Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Croup is survived by two sons, Donald L. Croup of San Jose, California, Terry N. Croup of Butler, Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren; niece, Joan Daubenspeck Clispe whom Dorothy raised of Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Mrs. Croup was preceded in death her husband, Donald E. Croup whom she marriage on October 13, 1936 and who passed away on May 24, 1950, by two brothers, two sisters, a son who died on November 13, 1999, six nephews and three nieces.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, February 23, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, February 24, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Kevin M. Bowen of Middlesex Presbyterian Church In America officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

William M. Sherry
September 27, 1918 - February 18, 2006
William M. Sherry, age 87 of 110 Rustique Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born Friday, September 27, 1918 in Porter, Jefferson Co., Pennsylvania he was the son of the late William Sherry and the late Clara E. Shaffer.
Mr. Sherry was a retired as a self-employed salesman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a life member of New Bethlehem Lodge #522 F & AM and was a Past Master. Mr. Sherry was also a member Coudersport Consistory. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and WW II, serving with the 95th Infantry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was being with his family.
Mr. Sherry is survived by his wife, June W. Rugh Sherry whom he marriage on July 28, 1938, one daughter, Mrs. Ronald L. (Sonnie) Sloniger of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sons, Richard M. (Dick) Sherry of Indiana, Pennsylvania, William R. (Bill) Sherry of Butler, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sherry was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, February 20, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend J. David Panther and Mr. William Gumpper of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Memorial Park, Worthington, Pennsylvania.

Betty L. Camp
August 1, 1928 - February 14, 2006
Betty Leras Camp, age 77 of Third Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. at her residence.
Born August 1, 1928 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Nick Leras and the late Catherine Adams.
Mrs. Camp worked in the workshop for Butler Blind Association from 1956 to 1960. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance. She had attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind.
Mrs. Camp is survived by one brother, George Leras of Long Beach, California; one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Wilma) Nallan of Valle Jo, California; four nieces and one nephew.
Mrs. Camp was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Camp and who passed away on February 2, 1991.

Louis P. Welsbacher
December 9, 1916 - August 5, 2003
Louis P. Welsbacher, 86 of Butler, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at his residence.
Born December 9, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Theodore Welsbacher and Bertha Tarr.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Mercedes Mentzer Welsbacher, deceased July 17, 1998.
He worked as a Steelworker for J & L Steel retiring in 1978 after working 42 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Mary Lou) Drilling, Chillicothe, Illinois, Mrs. James (Linda) Smith of Prospect, Mrs. Elliot (Ann) Naar of Butler, Seven Grandchildren, two Great-Granddaughters, Number of Nieces and Nephews two Sisters, Mildred Mentzer of Pittsburgh, and Dorie Baker of Steubenville, Ohio.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one son, six brothers and two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Thursday, August 7, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Friday, August 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Barry Keurulainen Officiating. Interment will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.
George B. Davidson, Jr.
May 29, 1919 - February 11, 2006
George B. Davidson, Jr., age 86 of Evergreen Nursing Home, Harmony, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 6:42 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 29, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late George B. Davidson, Sr. and the late Salome Shaffer.
Mr. Davidson owned and operated the Wolf Pharmacy in Butler. He was Presbyterian by faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II.
Mr. Davidson, Jr. is survived by one sister, Mrs. Evelyn L. Gardner of Butler, Pennsylvania; one brother, William R. Davidson of Clovis, California; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation or services.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.

S. Alfred York
August 8, 1921 - February 10, 2006
S. Alfred York, 84, of Middletown, Ohio, went to be with his Lord Friday morning when he passed away at his home.
He was a devoted family man. The joys of his life were his wife, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. He was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Butler. He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the 8th Army Corps and the 2nd Air Division, 93rd Bomb Group. Mr. York served 21/2 years in Norwich, England, in the Medical Corps. There he was a member of the championship volleyball team at the Norwich base.
Mr. York came to Middletown, Ohio in 1955, and he worked at both the Butler and Middletown Armco Steel Works. He retired after 41 years as a supervisor. Mr. York was an avid reader, had a great appreciation of nature and gardening, was a talented creative woodworker, and possessed the gift of storytelling. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Middletown, for 50 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 218, the Elks Lodge, and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Betty N. (Russin) York, whom he marriage Aug. 2, 1942; his two loving daughters, Allene and her husband, Richard, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Carol York of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Ryan and his wife, Jessica, North of Vicksburg, Miss., and Peter North of Upper Sandusky; two great grandchildren, Caleb and Cody North of Vicksburg; two brothers, William of Fairless Hills, Pa., and Nicolas and Marie Russin of Kingsport, Tenn., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Tony, John and Frank; and a sister, Barbara.
Family and Friends of S. Alfred York, who died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at the BREITENBACH-McCOY-LEFFLER FUNERAL HOME, 517 S. Sutphin St., Middletown. Visitations will also be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, before the funeral at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Avenue, Middletown, with the Rev. Tom Ramsey officiating.
Friends will also be received from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Butler. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Butler County Memorial Park.
