Mrs. Ruth N. Schoch
Mrs. Ruth N. Schoch, 92, formerly of 242 Held St., Union Hill, Franklin Township, died Wednesday evening in the emergency room of the St. Joseph Hospital, Lancaster. She was the widow of Raymond Schoch, who died on June 10, 1983.
She resided with her niece June, wife of Earl Pierce, at 347 E. Cedar St., New Holland, Pa., for the past two years.
The deceased was born in Union Hill, a daughter of the late Osbon and Catherine (Wentz) Houser.
She was a member of Faith Alive United Methodist Church, Bowmanstown.
Surviving in addition to her niece are several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Caleb and Edward; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Schabo.
The Mayes-Melber Funeral Home, 200 Franklin St., Weissport, is in charge of the arrangements.

John E. Kocher
John E. Kocher, 74, of 655 Johnson Drive, Nazareth, died Wednesday in his home. He was the former husband of Virginia V. (Frey) Kocher and Ruby J. (Buss) Kocher.
He was a mechanic for the former Penn Dixie Cement Company, Plant No. 4, Nazareth, for 32 years before retiring, and also had owned The Timberwolf, East Allen Township, for 10 years.
Born in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Lewis and Mary (Rodger) Kocher.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of the American Legion Post 470, Bath, American Legion Post 415, Nazareth, the Point Phillips Rod and Gun Club and the Raccoon Club of East Allen Township.
Surviving in addition to his former wives are two daughters, Sandra Doncses of Nazareth and Bonnie L. Kocher of Allentown; two sons, John E. of Moore Township and Roy G. of Nazareth; four brothers, William E. and Sherwood, both of Bath, Raymond of Palmerton and Lewis L. of Forks Township; three sisters, Mildred Frey of Easton, Dorothy Hess of Nazareth and Emily Baggest of Palmer Township; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Ernest F., and a daughter Sharon.

Mrs. Anita C. Deady
Mrs. Anita C. Deady, 93, of Saylorsburg, formerly of Germantown, died Tuesday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Joseph L. Deady.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Max and Christine Goettner.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gilbert.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
The Kresge Funeral Home, Rt. 209, Gilbert, is in charge of the arrangements.

Becker survivors
Among the survivors of Mrs. Mae R. Becker, 71, of Weatherly R.2, formerly of Baltimore, Md., who died Monday afternoon in the St. Luke Manor, Hazleton, are her twin sister Mildred, wife of Robert Gregory of Treichlers, who was misidentified in yesterday's obituary as a daughter; and three brothers, Sherman and Benjamin Richie, both of Weatherly R.2, and Ernest Richie of Weatherly.

Joseph A. Schaeffer
Joseph A. Schaeffer, of 246 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua, died Tuesday evening in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. He was the husband of the late Bertha (Goodman) Schaeffer, who died in 1957.
Prior to retiring, he had been employed by Keich Motors, Tamaqua.
Born in New Ringgold, he was a son of the late Barthold and Mary Ann (Schwender) Schaeffer.
He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua.
Surviving are a daughter Joanne, wife of Thomas Mullahey of Hometown, Tamaqua R.2; a son, Bert J. of Lake Hauto, Nesquehoning R.1; a sister, Mrs. Laura Keich of Tamaqua; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna, Bertha Eckroth and Florence Houser.
The Jon M. Zizelmann Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Stephen R. Flyzik
Mrs. Erma A. Flyzik, 78, of Lansford, died Monday evening in the
Medical Facility of Brittany Pointe Estates, Upper Gwynedd Township,
Montgomery County. She was the wife of Stephen R. Flyzik. They would
have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 6.
Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Mary
(Bacek) Komatinsky.
She was a graduate of the former Summit Hill High School.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Jan, wife of
Richard Schaffer of Hatfield, Montgomery County; a brother Luke of
Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Mary Pucillo of Capistrano Beach, Calif.; and two
granddaughters.
The Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, Montgomery County, is in
charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mae R. Becker
Mrs. Mae R. Becker, 71, of Weatherly R.2, formerly of Baltimore, Md.,
died Monday afternoon in the St. Luke Manor, Hazleton. She was the widow
of Albert C. Becker.
Born in Weatherly, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Ruth
(McAuliff) Richie, and had lived in the Weatherly area since moving from
Baltimore 10 years ago.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are a son Ronald of White Oaks, N.M.; a daughter Mildred,
wife of Robert Gregory of Treichlers; four sisters, Mrs. Edward (Viola)
Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Alan (Dorothy) Akerson, both of Weatherly R.2, Mrs.
Philip (Miriam) Gerhard of Punxsutawney and Mrs. William (Pearl) Young of
Coudersport; a granddaughter and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son Donald; and four brothers,
Joseph, Elmer, Ivan and Norman.

Anthony Cacace
Anthony "Tony" Cacace, 48, of Margaret Street, Palmerton, died
March 10 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the
husband of Josephine (Valerio) Cacace.
He was a retired New York City policeman.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son Mrs. Grace Cacace, of Brooklyn,
N.Y., and the late Anthony Cacace.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are a daughter Nina,
at home; and a sister, Christine LaFerlita of Brooklyn.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26,
in the church.

Mrs. Hazel W. Brannan
Mrs. Hazel Winchester Brannan, 100, of Pleasant Valley Manor,
Snydersville, formerly of Stroudsburg, died Monday in the home. She was
the widow of Raymond Brannan and Milton Winchester.
Born in Newark, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary
Ellen Colcom.
She was of the Episcopal faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Muriel Morgan of Pinellas Park, Fla.; seven
grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Genevieve Page.
The Kresge Funeral Home, Rt. 209, Brodheadsville, is in charge of the
arrangements.

Mrs. Anna J. Parry
Mrs. Anna J. Parry, 82, of Coopersburg, died Tuesday in the Valley
Manor Nursing Center, Coopersburg. She was the widow of Carl W. Parry.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Nellie
Appelton.
Surviving are five daughters, Janet Callahan of Johnstown, Cambria
County, Joyce, wife of Paul Hummel of Lehighton, Judith, wife of Thomas
Cebuleski, and Juanita, wife of Robert Miller, both of Allentown, and
Joanne, wife of Larry Sandt of Bethlehem; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-
grandchildren.

Mrs. Rose Geider
Mrs. Rose Geider, 88, of Whitehall Township, died Monday in the
Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of Florian Geider.
She was a turner for the former Lisa Fashions, Coplay, for eight
years before retiring in 1973, and previously was a wrapper for the
former Consolidated Cigar Company, Coplay, for 40 years.
Born in Moschendorf, Morgenland, Austria, she was a daughter of the
late Alois and Katharina (Mathisz) Marth.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Coplay, where she
belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are a son, Florian E., and a daughter, Mary A. Fodor, both of
Whitehall; a brother George of Allentown; five sisters, Helen Merch of
Coopersburg, Anna Mathias of New Tripoli, Catherine Laponuke and Pauline
Guttman, both of Northampton, and Mary, wife of Frank Meyers of
Walnutport; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Vanos.

Mrs. Elena Galat
Mrs. Elena Galat, 83, of 222 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, died Tuesday in
the Pottsville Hospital. She was the widow of James Galat.
Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and
Madeline DiVigilli.
She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
Surviving are a son, Peter Tellarini in Florida; three daughters,
Ursula, wife of John Caracappa of New Ringgold, and Charlotte Tellarini
and Josephine Scovazzo, both in Florida; three sisters, Theresa, Della and
Louise, all in Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Guy Facini.
The Roche Funeral Home, 237 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, is in charge of
the arrangements.

Mrs. Frederick A. Ungaretta
Mrs. Dolores A. Ungaretta, 63, of 119 Greenbriar Drive North, Bath,
died Monday in the home of her mother, Mrs. Emily (Schremp) Rader of 515
Third St., Palmerton, after being stricken.
The deceased was the wife of Frederick A. Ungaretta.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, she was a medical records
technician for 12 years for the former Allentown General Hospital.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of Emily (Schremp) Rader of
Palmerton and the late Ivan Berger, and a stepdaughter of the late Harvey
Berger.
She was an Air Force veteran.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a daughter,
Tracey A. of Wind Gap; a son, Frederick A. Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; two
brothers, Ronald Berger of Palmerton and Barry Berger of Slatington; and a
grandson.

Purie F. Green Jr.
Purie F. Green Jr., 75, of Kunkletown R.2, died Tuesday in the
Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort. He was the husband of Arlene A.
(Kresge) Green. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary last July.
He worked for the Supadur Manufacturing Company, Wind Gap, for 26
years before retiring in 1978.
Born in Kunkletown, he was a son of the late Purie F. Sr. and Millie A.
(Greenzweig) Green.
He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville.
Green was a member of the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company,
where he served on the board.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Mark R. of Kunkletown;
two brothers, Wesley of Little Gap and Charles of Saylorsburg R.1; a
sister, Mrs. Irene Oplinger of Coplay; and a grandson.
The Thomas K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton,
is in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph A. Schaeffer, of 246 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua, died Tuesday
evening in Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale.

Mrs. Pansy N. Dana-Bertrand
Mrs. Pansy N. Dana-Bertrand, 89, formerly of Greentown, and
Lehighton R.2, died this morning in the Gnaden Huetten Nursing Home,
Lehighton. She was the widow of David Dana, who died in 1975, and Oswald
Bertrand, who died in 1985.
She was a retired sewing machine operator and had worked at the
former Bishop Mill and the former Hoffards Mill, in Weissport.
Born in Spragueville, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Frederick
and Bertha (McGregor) Cardinal.
She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Lehighton.
Surviving are two sons, David Dana of Lehighton R.2, and Kenneth
Graver of Walnutport; a daughter, Pansy, wife of Russell Steigerwalt of
Harleysville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ellen Stofko of Catasauqua; a step-son,
James Bertrand of Greentown R.1; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-
grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-
grandchildren.

charge of arrangements.

Erlin K. Wertman
Erlin K. Wertman, 64, of 323 W. Market St., Orwigsburg, died Monday
morning at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. He was the
husband of Arlene (Johns) Wertman.
He was employed by Alumax Corporation, Cressona, for the past 17
years.
Born in East Brunswick Township, he was a son of Althea (Adams)
Wertman of Millersville, and the late Clarence Wertman.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven;
the board of directors of the Orwigsburg Ambulance Association and also
the emergency technician in Orwigsburg for many years.
He and his wife had been a team couple for marriage preparatory
groups of the Allentown Diocese.
Surviving with his mother and wife are two daughters, Sharon Ridel
in New Hampshire, and Colette Wertman, at home; a son, Thomas of
Orwigsburg; two brothers, Merle of Tamaqua, and Richard of Palo Alto; a
sister, Doreen Fry of Millersville; a grandchild; and five step-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lamar in 1984.
