Allen B. Heller
Allen B. Heller, 53, of Effort, died Sunday in his home. He was the husband of Nellie M. (Tanner) Heller. They were married for 27 years.
He was a carpenter and mason for his brother, Ernest Heller Carpentry, Sciota, and previously was a mason for Dave Piel, Stroudsburg.
Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Paul and Berneda (Miller) Heller.
He was a member of Mount Eaton Christian Church, Saylorsburg.
Heller was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post 927, Gilbert.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Donald A. of Saylorsburg; a daughter, Melissa A. of Canadensis; a brother Ernest of Sciota; a sister, Marlene Zeruth of Effort; a grandchild and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mabel May Kistler
Mrs. Mabel May Kistler, 74, of Meadow Drive, Mertztown, died Monday in her home. She was the widow of Norman R. Kistler.
Born in New Tripoli, she was a daughter of the late James and Rosa (Reitz) Kerschner.
She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli.
Surviving are a son Forrest of Topton; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
J. Donald Rehrig
J. Donald Rehrig, 83, of 198 W. Bowmans Road, Lehighton, died Thursday, May 29, in Weatherwood, Weatherly. He was the husband of the late Mary Rehrig.
Prior to retiring, he was self-employed in the oil business.
Surviving are a brother Edwin; and two half-sisters, Phyllis Hahan of Washington State and Irene Holscaw of Malvern, Pa.
Mrs. Sarah M. Grohol
Mrs. Sarah M. Grohol, 85, formerly of Weatherly, died early Monday in the Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Tamaqua R.2. She was the widow of George A. Grohol, who died in 1982.
She was last employed as a nurse's aide at the former Hazleton State General Hospital.
Born in West Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Julia (Stadnick) Vetter.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, and a former member of the Senior Citizens Friendship Club, both of Weatherly.
Surviving are two brothers, Henry of Shady Side, Md., and John of Mountaintop; four sisters, Leona Moon of Weatherly, Mary Pasko of Cleveland, Ohio, Helen Wolf of East Brunswick, N.J., and Genevieve Bubrowski of Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Leo and Joseph.
Mrs. Josephine M. Breston
Mrs. Josephine M. Breston, 84, of Sterling Heights, Mich., formerly of 222 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, died Monday in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Celeste and Tim Simon, with whom she resided.
The deceased was the widow of Michael J. Breston, who died in 1970.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine Mokry.
She was a former member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Tamaqua.
Surviving in addition to her daughter are a brother, Andrew Mokry; a sister Irma, wife of Michael Karabinos of Tamaqua; and several nephews and nieces.
Services will be held from SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Sterling Heights, Mich. A memorial mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at SS. Peter and Paul Church, Tamaqua.
John W.Thomas
John W. Thomas, 96, formerly of 222 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, died Monday in the Masonic Home, Elizabethtown. He was the husband of the late Miriam (Snyder) Thomas, Myrtle Thomas and Isabella (Keilman) Thomas.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by the former Bundy Tubing Company, Hometown.
Born in Gilberton, he was a son of the late Albert G. and Annie (Judd) Thomas.
He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church and F. and A.M. Lodge No. 238, both of Tamaqua; the Lehigh Consistory; Reading Shrine Loyal Arch Chapter 177; Knights Templar of Mahanoy City; Anthracite Council, Hazleton; Schuylkill Shrine, Pottsville; and the Tamaqua B.P.O. Elks.
Thomas was a veteran of World War I and World War II.
Surviving are two daughters and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Joyce and Mrs. Martha Marconis, both of Robling, N.J.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lemuel and Albert; and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Kish and Mrs. Mary Whitehorn.
The Robert C. Reeser Funeral Home, 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Annie B. Everett
Mrs. Annie B. Everett, 100, formerly of 823 Iron St., Lehighton, died early today in the Gnaden Huetten Nursing Center, Lehighton. She was the widow of Jacob T. Everett, who died many years ago.
She was employed as a cafeteria worker for Cedar Crest College, Allentown, for many years until retirement.
Born in New Tripoli, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Agnes (Kressley) Henninger.
She was one of the oldest members of the New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Tripoli; Golden Agers of Lehighton and Mahoning Valley; Daughters of America, New Tripoli; and the ladies auxiliary of the Lynnport Fire Company.
Surviving are a son, Robert of Albuquerque, N. Mex.; a daughter, Caroline, wife of Wilmer Odenheimer of New Tripoli; Elmer Everett, her son-in-law, with whom she resided; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Lillian Everett and Ruth Sechler; and a sister, Mamie Henninger.
