Elwood Rehrig
Elwood "Chick" Rehrig, 80, of 195 Maple Ave., Lehighton, died
Thursday in his home. He was the husband of Joann (Jager) Rehrig. They
observed their 59th wedding anniversary last December. He was a
mathematics teacher and athletic director at Lehighton High School where
he was employed for 42 years before retiring in 1981. He was the athletic
director for 33 years and also coached baseball from 1940-47.
William A. Anderson Jr.
William Arthur Anderson Jr., 77, of 434 Forest Lane, Kissimmee,
Fla., died Saturday, Sept. 28. He was the husband of Mae (Shoch) Anderson
and the late Mae (Black) Anderson. He was retired from National Tubing,
Fairless Hills. A veteran of World War II, he was a life member of
American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill.
Mrs. Margaret M. Kulhavy
Mrs. Margaret M. Kulhavy, 87, of 349 W. Ridge St., Lansford, died
Wednesday in Edgemont Peronal Care Home, Lansford. She was the widow
of Stephen Kulhavy, who died in 1970. She worked for the former Lansford
Sportswear before retiring.
Charles W. Yost
Charles W. Yost, 92, formerly of 403 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, died
Thursday in Weatherwood, the Carbon County home for the aged in
Weatherly. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Mock) Yost, who died in
1965. Prior to retiring in 1969 he was employed by Atlas Powder Co.,
Reynolds.
Joseph J. Rudner Sr.
Joseph J. Rudner Sr., 78, of Lansdale, Montgomery County, formerly
of Lansford, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Allegheny University Hospital's
Center City Unit, Philadelphia. He was the husband of Eleanor (Geisinger)
Rudner. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in July. A long
time plumbing and heating contractor, he worked for 46 years in many
capacities for Lansdale Heating, which became Willow Grove Plumbing and
Mid States, until he retired in 1990. Prior to that, he worked in many
capacities for Hajoca, Lansdale.
Richard J. Everitt
Richard J. Everitt, 44, of 317 E. Main St., Pen Argyl, died Wednesday
in Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He worked for Lehigh Valley
Janitorial Service, Bath, for the past three years.
Joseph Samec
Joseph Samec of 1 E. Cherry St., Tresckow, died early Thursday
morning in Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of
Anna (Tokach) Samec. Prior to retirement he was employed in the
maintenance department at Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center.
Michael Vengrin
Michael Vengrin, 75, of 2397 Dewey Ave., Northampton, died
Thursday in Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. He was a truck driver for
the former National Portland Cement Co., Lower Nazareth Township, for 29
years before it ceased operations.
