Emil G. Dvorshock
Emil G. Dvorshock, 38, of 143 Dock Road, Womelsdorf, died Friday at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He was the husband of Diane (Zimmerman) Dvorshock.
Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the Mary Ann (Stasek) Dvorshock of McAdoo, and the late Emil J. Dvorshock.
He was the proprietor of E-Z Services Inc., of Richland.
He was a graduate of Marian High School, Class of 1977, and graduated from Albright College in Reading in 1981.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association.
Surviving with his widow and mother is a son Tyler at home; a sister, Gerianne, wife of Willie O'Boril of McAdoo. Also aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
The Damiano Funeral Home, Blaine and Cleveland Streets, McAdoo, is in charge of arrangements.
Frank A. Meckes
Frank A. Meckes, 79, of 129 S. Canal St., Walnutport, died Friday at his home. He was the husband of Elaine M. (Dorward) Meckes. They were married 51 years last October.
Born in Bowmanstown, he was a son of the late Nathan and Maggie (Yeck) Meckes.
He operated a fork life for the former New Jersey Zinc Co. in Palmerton.
He was a member of the Bowmanstown Fire Company and the Diamond Fire Company in Walnutport.
He played the bass fiddle for more than 50 years with various bands in the Poconos.
Surviving with his widow is a daughter, Linda K., wife of Bruce Evans of Walnutport, and two sons, Gary L. of Walnutport and Ricky G. of Newfoundland, Wayne County; two sisters, Irene Zellers, of Lititz, and Ruth, wife of Willard Whiteman of Bowmanstown. Also five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Arthur E. Woodward
Arthur E. Woodward, 67, of 31 E. Elm St., Tamaqua, died Saturday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Esther (Seltzer) Woodward.
He was a chef at the White Diner, South Tamaqua.
Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Eva (Stahler) Woodward.
He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua.
Surviving are a sister Eleanor, wife of Larry Arner of Tamaqua; a brother Robert of Ambler; and a companion, Grace Miller, with whom he resided.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Russel.
The Robert C. Reeser Funeral Home, 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, is in charge of the arrangements.
Clarence E. Steigerwalt
Clarence E. Steigerwalt, 77, of 1121 Fairyland Road, Lehighton, died Friday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Eckman) Steigerwalt. They observed their 51st wedding anniversary this month.
He was a carpenter for Omni Construction, Lehighton, before retiring, and previously had been a truck driver for the Eckman Lumber Company, Lehighton, for 23 years.
Following his retirement, he worked for his son, Bruce R. of Mahoning Township in his surveying company in Lehighton.
Born in East Penn Township, the deceased was a son of the late Ralph and Edna (Wehr) Steigerwalt.
He was a member of Ben Salem United Church of Christ, East Penn Township, where he was a member of its board, the Sunday school and the choir for many years.
Surviving in addition to his widow and son are a daughter Susan, wife of Salvatore Messina of Tamaqua R.3; a brother Willard of Palmerton; two sisters, Viola, wife of Marvin Christman, and Grace, wife of Harvey E. Fogel, both of Lehighton; and two granddaughters.

Ellsworth P. Merkle
Ellsworth P. "Ebbie" Merkle, 85, of Praxis Nursing Center, Easton, formerly of 107 N. Gap St., Walnutport, died Sunday in the Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Elsie M. (Phillips) Merkle. They observed their 57th wedding anniversary in December.
He was an office and traffic manager for the American Nickeloid Company, Inc., Walnutport, for 48 years before retiring in 1976. He also repaired and sold radio and television sets in his home for many years.
Merkle was the first person in the Northern Lehigh area known to have received radio transmissions from California.
Born in Walnutport, he was a son of the late Preston and Lillian (Beer) Merkle.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Slatington.
His widow is his only survivor.
Kermit A. Trach
Kermit A. Trach, 86, of 2168 Community Drive, Bath, died Friday in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Mary C. (Werner) Trach, who died in 1987.
He owned and operated Trach's Garage, Moorestown, for more than 50 years before retiring. During World War II, he worked in the machine shop of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He also hauled milk for the Lehigh Valley Dairy and, in his youth, worked at the Moorestown General Store, which was owned by his parents.
Trach was a 1935 graduate of the National School of Auto Mechanics, Los Angeles, Calif.
Born in Moore Township, he was a son of the late Frank H. and Sevilla M. (Beers) Trach.
He was a former member of Salem Church, Moorestown.
Surviving are two daughters, Nadine C., wife of Joseph Wagner, and Janice S., wife of Anthony Emery, both of Moorestown; four brothers, Harland B. of Allentown, Wayne S. of Nazareth, Winfield L. of Bath and Randolph H. of Royersford, Montgomery County; a sister, Claribell S. McGrath of Bethlehem; two grandsons and a great-grandson.
Lawrence J. Yob
Lawrence J. Yob, 65, of 231 W. Main St., Bath, died Friday in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Margaret A. (Reichelderfer) Yob. They observed their 32nd wedding anniversary in January.
He worked for Ronca and Sons, Fountain Hill, for many years before retiring.
Born in Bath, he was a son of Mrs. Marguerite E. (Anstead) Yob of Bath and the late William E. Yob.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bath.
Yob was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He belonged to the Bath Republican Club and was a life member of the Bath Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are three sons, Lawrence P., William E. and Scott A., all at home; two daughters, Maria L. of Nazareth and Michelle A.; a brother, Bernard J. of Douglasville, Ga.; two sisters, Delores, wife of Nick Rampulla of Nazareth, and Charlotte Ruch of Walnutport; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Sarah Anna Tallada
Mrs. Sarah Anna Tallada, 85, of Stroudsburg, died Saturday in the Pleasant Valley Manor, Snydersville. She was the widow of Spencer Tallada Sr.
Born in Pocono Township, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Hannah (Shook) Shively.
She was a member of East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving are five daughters, Genevieve L. Post of Henryville, Margaret H. Holmes and Pauline E., both of East Stroudsburg, Mary A. Dippre of Stroudsburg and Carol J. Krock of Sciota; six sons, Clair A. of Gilbert, George in Florida, Fred W. Sr. of Cresco, Royd R. of Stroudsburg and Spencer Jr. and James D., both of East Stroudsburg; 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Stephen S. Lorenz
Stephen S. Lorenz, 75, of 3018 Hobson St., Whitehall Township, died Saturday in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Rose (Schadl) Lorenz. They observed their 46th wedding anniversary this month.
He was a cutter for the former Modern Universal Slacks Company, Allentown, before retiring in 1987.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Ignatius Lorenz and Anna (Janders) Lorenz Gigler.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Whitehall.
Lorenz was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 454, Northampton, and a former member of the Alliance Fire Company, Northampton.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Mary Ann, wife of Laverne Arndt of Jim Thorpe, and Janet, wife of Richard Close of Harrisburg; two sons, Stephen R. of Whitehall and Joseph A. of Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Mary, wife of Alfred Galler, and Rose, wife of Robert Hess, both of Northampton, and Anna Henninger of Whitehall Township; two stepsisters, Frieda Nielsen of Whitehall and Anna Prockle of Northampton; and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Adeline Weicker
Mrs. Adeline Weicker, 78, of 306 Gay St., Tamaqua, died Sunday in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was the widow of Wendell Weicker, who died April 11, 1982.
She worked for various garment factories in the Tamaqua area before retiring.
Born in Tamaqua, she was a daughter of the late John and Christina (Keich) Main.
She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Correll of Hazleton and Wendy, wife of Eugene Perla of Tamaqua; two sisters, Elizabeth Hinkle of Weatherly and Emma Weiss of Wilmington, Del.; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Arthur, Simon and Jude.
The Jon M. Zizelmann Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, is in charge of the arrangements.
Lionel Walker
Lionel "David" Walker, 15, of 21 E. Oak St., West Hazleton, died Saturday in a drowning incident in Hazle Township, Luzerne County.
Born in Flemington, N.J., he was a son of George and Dianne (Randall) Koreyva, with whom he resided.
The deceased would have entered the eighth-grade at West Hazleton Junior High School this Fall.
Surviving in addition to his parents are nine brothers, Harold of Trenton, N.J., William of Tamaqua, Raymond of Bartonsville, Andrew in Massachusetts, George Jr. of Canadensis, Robert in California, Don Jo of Snydersville, Donald of Flemington, N.J., and John of Bangor; his paternal grandmother, Iona Wells of Boscawn, N.H.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Arthur D. Toth
Mrs. Sylvia J. Toth, 64, of 64 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton, died Sunday in the Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of Arthur D. Toth.
Born in Packer Township, Weatherly R.1, she was a daughter of Mrs. Bessie (Knepper) Gerhard of Weatherly R.1, and the late Wallace O. Gerhard.
She was affiliated with St. Matthew United Church of Christ, Weatherly R.1, and attended Lock Haven and Bloomsburg universities.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son Brian, at home; a sister Marilyn, wife of William McLaughlin of Spring Valley; a brother Mark of Weatherly R.1; and nieces and nephews.
Jerry Fritzinger
Jerry Fritzinger, 82, of 612 Peace St., Hazleton, died Friday in the Hazleton General Hospital. He was the husband of Arlyne (Stegner) Fritzinger. They were married for 60 years.
He was a machinist and chief inspector for Barrett & Haentjens Company, Hazleton, retiring after 45 years of service.
Born in Drifton, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lydia (Snyder) Fritzinger.
He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, the consistory of Emmanuel United Church of Christ and Odd Fellows Lodge 65, all of Hazleton.
He was an Eagle Scout and was a former Boy Scout leader.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter Carol, wife of William Swank of Hazleton; a son, Wayne J. of Nesquehoning; a brother Wesley of Freeland; and three grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Thomas; a infant sister Rebecca; and a grandson.
