Dolores A. George
Dolores A. "Do" George, 67, of 202 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, died Thursday in the Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Allentown. She was the wife of Isaac S. "Ike" George. They celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary last December.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late John and Edwina (Jones) Krex.
She owned and operated the Krex News Agency in Palmerton the past eight years.
She was a member of the Blue Ridge Country Club, Palmerton.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Greg Favian of Greensburg, and Thomas C. Fabian of Lehighton; three daughters, Joan, wife of Hargis Collins of Dryden, Mich., Patricia Fabian of Feasterville and Mary, wife of Robert Bollinger of Palmerton; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Shupp of Palmerton, nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Mary Yaich
Mary Yaich, 83, of 1 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, died Wednesday at the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of John Yaich, who died in 1970.
Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late James and Florence (Jerbis) Penberth.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sixth and North Streets, Jim Thorpe.
Surviving is a son, James Yaich, Hot Sulphur Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Dolores, wife of Charles Charter, Waxhaw, N.C.; a sister, Florence, wife of Robert Schaffer, Lansford; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Yaich; three brothers, James, Albert and Roy Penberth; and four sisters, Mrs. Martha Coll, Mrs. Emma Hughes, Mrs. Mildred Hughes, and Mrs. Rachel Ladenburg.

Russell E. Eltringham, Jr.
Russell E. Eltringham, Jr., 54, of 118 Hunter St., Tamaqua, died Friday in Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. He was the husband of Dorothy (Bachert) Eltringham. They were married 35 years.
Prior to being disabled five years ago he had been employed by Richard R. Schmick, inc., Allentown, for 30 years.
Born in Pottsville, he was a son of Frances M. (Gerber) Eltringham of Tamaqua and the late Russell E. Eltringham Sr.
He was a member of Primitive Methodist Church, Tamaqua.
He was a 21-year member and former secretary of the Rabbit Run Fish and Game Association, Tamaqua R. 1, and was a member and former president of the Southward Playground Association, Tamaqua.
He was a 1961 graduate of Tamaqua High School.
Surviving with his wife and mother are two sons, Joseph Eltringham of Lansford, and Scott Eltringham at home; a daughter, Cathy, wife of William Floyd, Jr., Tamaqua; two brothers, Edward Eltringham, Tamaqua, and John Eltringham, Elysburg. Also six grandchildren.

Mrs. Katie E. Rehrig Bailey
Mrs. Katie E. Rehrig Bailey, 85, formerly of Lynnport, Walnutport and Allentown, died Saturday night in Cedarbrook's Fountain Hill Annex, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Raymond H. Rehrig, who died in 1961.
She worked as a domestic in the Slatington and Walnutport areas for about 10 years before retiring in 1972, and previously had been employed on the capline for the former Atlas Powder Company, Reynolds, for several years.
Born in West Penn Township, she was a daughter of the late Israel and Emma (Miller) Nunemacher.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are three daughters, Mamie M., wife of Mark Snyder of Baltimore, Md., Evelyn C. Hemerly of Allentown and Betty J., wife of Edward Tonelis of Whitehall; three sons, Raymond D. Rehrig of Ladson, S.C., James E. Rehrig of Effort and Larry L. Rehrig of Slatington; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Terrance Snyder and Chad Rehrig.

Manuel Sao Paulo
Manuel Sao Paulo, 69, of 25 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua, died Sunday in his home.
He worked for the former Reibe Construction Company, Palmerton, before retiring.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Horoschak) Paulo.
He was a member of St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale.
Paulo was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Ann Zimmerman of Pottsville, Catherine Mercuri of Mahanoy City and Christine of New Philadelphia; four sons, Manuel of Pottsville, Larry of Westerly, R.I., Joseph of New Tripoli and Timothy of Tamaqua; a sister, Gloria Wargo of Lehighton; two brothers, William in New Jersey and Larry of New York City, N.Y.; and 15 grandchildren.

John Shears
John Shears, 85, formerly of Coaldale, died Saturday in the Gnaden Huetten Nursing and Convalescent Center, Lehighton.
He worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation before retiring.
Born in Lansford, he was a son of the late Jacob and Feonia (Polansky) Shears.
He was a member of St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale.
Surviving is a brother Steve of Toms River, N.J.

Mrs. James D. Becker
Mrs. Marian A. Becker, 60, of 88 Penn St., Lenhartsville, died Sunday morning in her home. She was the wife of James D. Becker. They observed their 20th wedding anniversary last October.
Born in West Penn Township, she was a daughter of Mrs. Elva M. (Knepper) Kunkel of Alburtis, Pa., and the late William H. Kunkel.
The deceased was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are four daughters, Peggy Coloviti and Donna, wife of Richard Strohl, both of Lehighton, and Dorothy, wife of Daryl Kondikoff, and Cindy, wife of Garry Hummel, both of Bath; a sister, Mrs. Betty Rump of Lenhartsville; a brother, Richard A. of Kempton; and eight grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother Donald, who died in 1995.
Hayden S. Howell
Hayden S. Howell, 90, of Weir Lake Road, Saylorsburg R.3, died Sunday in the Pleasant Valley Manor, Snydersville. He was the husband of Della (Stanley) Howell and the late Alma (Kimmel) Howell.
He was a farmer for most of his life on Howell Farms, Saylorsburg, continuing the business his father and uncle started as Howell Brothers and Sons. After his retirement in 1972, he continued involvement in the farm, now managed by his grandsons.
Born in Howell Farm, he was a son of the late Edmund and Mary (Kresge) Howell.
He was a member of the Brodheadsville congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and had helped establish the first congregation of that faith in Mount Pocono in 1972. Previously, he guided the construction of the Lehighton congregation and was an elder for the Palmerton congregation.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Gladys Nordmeyer of Saylorsburg R.3; and six grandchildren.

Gerald J. O'Malley
Gerald J. O'Malley, 77, of 226 New St., Walnutport, died Saturday in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Esther N. (Saches) O'Malley. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary last August.
He worked in the rolling mills of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 27 years before retiring in 1977.
Born in Dunmore, Lackawanna County, he was a son of the late Martin and Irene (Dougherty) O'Malley.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a recipient of two Bronze Stars and was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 7215, Walnutport, and a member of the Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington, and the Diamond Fire Company, Walnutport.
Surviving in addition to his widow are four daughters, Lynn F., wife of Francis Bedics Jr., Geri M. Engler and Margaret M., wife of Patrick DiMaria, all of Allentown, and Louise O., wife of Louis H. Dervarics Jr. of Nazareth; a brother James of Scranton; a half-sister Alice, wife of Edward Mallas of Lake Ariel, Wayne County; and five grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert G., who died in 1990.
Mrs. Marie L. Pol
Mrs. Marie L. Pol, 83, of 105 E. Walter St., Summit Hill, died Friday in the Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was the widow of Attilio Pol.
She worked for the former Loom Togs Factory, Summit Hill, for many years before retiring in 1976.
Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late Celeste and Amelia Celotti.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, the Summit Hill Senior Citizens and the Panther Valley Golden Age Club, Lansford.
Surviving are two sons, Louis of Cypress Lakes, Fla., and Gino of Reading; a daughter Marie, wife of William Heffelfinger of Harleysville; two sisters, Ann Liselle of Summit Hill and Lucy Macalush of Nesquehoning; a stepbrother, Amelio Scott of Pen Argyl; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Louis and Andrew; a stepsister, Albertina Linn; and a grandson, Phillip Pol.

Mrs. Mary E. Hricik, 88, of 333 W. Mill St., Nesquehoning, died Sunday in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Frank Polakovics of Palmerton.
The deceased was the widow of Michael Hricik.
Born in Europe, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Quashnoc) Byzetzer.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Nesquehoning, where she belonged to the Rosary Society and had been active in church affairs her entire lifetime.
Surviving in addition to her daughter and a sister, Anna Rehatchek of Lansford; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Jr.; a daughter, Francine Heffelfinger; and two brothers, Stephen and Andrew.

James L. Hughes Sr.
James L. Hughes Sr., 60, of Orefield, died Friday in the St. Luke Hospital, Allentown Campus. He was the husband of Margaret A. "Peggy" (Livezey) Hughes. They observed their 41st wedding anniversary in May.
He was an asphalt plant operator for the M & M Stone Company, Harleysville plant, for the past 37 years.
Born in Elroy, Montgomery County, he was a son of Mrs. Eleanor (Seitz) Hughes of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., and the late Paul R. Hughes.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are two sons, James L. Jr. of Allentown and Richard B. of New Tripoli; three daughters, Kathy L., wife of Brian G. Billig of New Tripoli, Kimberle A. of Fogelsville and Kelly Jo, wife of Anthony W. Danner of Germansville; three brothers, Paul K. of Lansdale, Ronald B. of Souderton and Richard L. of Milford Square; and nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Elaine W. Kahler
Mrs. Elaine W. Kahler, 79, of 22 El Reno Ave., Nazareth, died Friday in her home. She was the widow of Harold S. Kahler.
Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late William and Jeanette (Stark) Walters.
She was a member of the Nazareth Moravian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Candace Mackov of Nesquehoning; two sons, Harold of Omaha, Neb., and William of Nazareth; two sisters, Jean Murdoca and Elizabeth, wife of Claude Roth, both of Nazareth; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Edna M. Lehman
Mrs. Edna M. Lehman, 94, of Hometown, formerly of Slatington, died Friday in the Hometown Nursing Center, Tamaqua R.2. She was the widow of Alfred J. Lehman.
Born in Slatington, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Emma Kern.
She was a member of St. John United Church, Slatington, and a member and former chaplain of the Slatington Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a son, Quincey E. of Slatington; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bortz infant
Katelin Leah Bortz, 8-month-old daughter of Steven J. and Rebecca C. (Nothstein) Bortz of Allentown, was pronounced dead Friday in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown.
She was born in Allentown.
Surviving in addition to her parents are a sister, Jennifer P., at home; paternal grandparents, Harry and Betty (Hopstock) Dennis of Allentown; maternal grandparents, Nelson and Carol (Stahler) Nothstein of Palmerton; and paternal great-grandmother, Anna (Delida) Hopstock of Emmaus.
