Jean P. Miller
Jean P. Miller, 61, of 621 School St., Jim Thorpe, died Tuesday at her
home. She had at one time worked as a bank teller at Mauch Chunk Trust
Co. and also as a cashier at the elementary center cafeteria in Jim Thorpe.
Mahlon N. Smith
Mahlon N. Smith, 79, of 286-122 Lower Nis Hollow Drive, Lehighton,
died Monday in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of
Lena (Fisher) Smith. They were married 53 years last December. He was an
auto mechanic at various garages, last employed by Hubco Ford of
Allentown.
Mrs. John Kidda
Mrs. Helen Kidda, 73, of 162 E. Phillips St., Coaldale, died Tuesday at
Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was the wife of John Kidda.
Prior to retirement she was employed as a registered nurse at Coaldale
Hospital.
Edmund F. Frick
Edmund F. Frick, 79, of Walnutport Mobile Court, formerly of
Tamaqua, died Tuesday in his home. He was he husband of Lillian (Roeder)
Nicholls Frick. He was employed by Tube Methods, Bridgeport, before
retiring in 1982. Before that he worked in the No. 9 Colliery of Lehigh Coal
and Navigation Co., Lansford. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a
member of VFW Post 8344, Schnecksville, and American Legion Post 314,
Lehighton.
Edward Barna
Edward Barna, 67, of 5232 Pennsylvania Ave., Whitehall Township,
died Monday at home. He was the husband of Helen C. (Lakatosh) Barna.
They were married 41 years in May. He worked in the parts department of
Gilboy Ford, Whitehall, for 18 years before retiring. Before that he was
custodian at Whitehall-Coplay School District.
Mrs. Joseph Greber
Mrs. Eleanor M. Greber, 48, of 1631 Main St., Northampton, died
Tuesday in Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Allentown. She was the wife of
Joseph Greber. They were married 22 years last month. She was a cuff
setter at Tom's Sportswear, Lehighton, until retiring.
Reynold M. Schwartz
Reynold M. Schwartz, 79, of Schuylkill Haven, died Tuesday at
Orwigsburg Manor, Orwigsburg, where he was a patient for three days. He
was the husband of Helen (Valentine) Schwartz. They were married for 54
years. He was owner of Hillfarm Dairy of Schuylkill Haven until it closed
in 1975. He retired from Lehigh Valley Dairy as a production supervisor in
1985. Schwartz was an Army veteran of World War II.
Sarah Eckhart
Sarah "Mae" Eckhart, 91, formerly of 84 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, died
this morning at Mahoning Valley Convalescent home where she was a
resident for three years. She was the widow of Vernon Eckhart who died in
1993.
Wallace Kistler
Wallace "Bud" Kistler, 52 of 213 Appletree Lane, Clark's Summit,
died Monday evening at Moses Taylor Hospital, Clarks Summit. He was the
husband of Diane (Bubel) Kistler. They celebrated their 28th wedding
anniversary in May. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam.
