Mrs. Margaret H. Eckert
Mrs. Margaret H. Eckert, 76, of 19 Lentz Ave., Lehighton, died
Wednesday in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the
widow of Willard M. Eckert, who died in January. She was a weaver for the
former Baer Silk Mill, Lehighton, for nine years until 1949.
Mrs. Della Blonsky
Mrs. Della Blonsky, 82, of 319 E. Union St., Tamaqua, died Thursday in
Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was the widow of August J.
Blonsky, who died July 24, 1982. A member of the International Ladies
Garment Workers Union for 48 years, she worked in garment mills in
Summit Hill and Tuscarora before retiring.
Malcolm J. Kuntz
Malcolm J. Kuntz, 88, formerly of Walnutport, died Tuesday in Phoebe
Home, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Lulu L. (Hunsicker) Kuntz.
He was a self-employed plumber in Walnutport for 25 years before
retiring in 1970. Prior to that he worked for the former New Jersey Zinc
Co., Palmerton.
Mrs. Irene E. M. Hower
Mrs. Irene E. M. Hower, 82, of the Phoebe Home, Allentown, died
Wednesday in the home. She was the widow of Carl Hower.
Lee A. Held
Lee A. Held, 52, of 730 Lonesome Lane, Towamensing Township, died
Thursday in Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of
Mildred A. (Dowling) Held. They observed their 16th wedding anniversary in
June. He was the founder and owner of Structural Metal Fabricators,
Northampton, since 1979. He also owned and developed the Northampton
Industrial Park and previously had taught welding and metal fabricating at
Eastern Northampton County Vocational Technical School and was
employed by Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
Mrs. Emma M. Anson
Mrs. Emma M. Anson, 80, of Bath died Thursday in Muhlenberg
Hospital Center, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Floyd Anson.
Francis G. Miller
Francis G. Miller, 74, of Allentown died Wednesday in Lehigh Valley
Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late June T. (Radeline)
Miller. He was employed by Lehigh Valley Postal Distribution Center until
retiring. Prior to that he was a bus driver for the former Lehigh Valley
Transit Co.
Mrs. Rosemary P. Hogan
Mrs. Rosemary P. Hogan, 71, of 901 Cherokee St., Fountain Hill, died
Wednesday in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the widow of George
E. Hogan. She worked for Gostonyi Travel, Bethlehem, and was also a
reservation clerk for United Airlines.
Mrs. Pearl W. Brown
Mrs. Pearl W. Brown, 85, of 2450 John Fryes Highway, Milford
Township, died Wednesday in the LifeQuest Nursing Center, Milford
Township. She was the widow of Albert Brown. She was a waitress for the
former Trainer's Restaurant, Quakertown, for more than 15 years before
retiring.

William "Wes" Everett
William "Wes" Everett, 61, of Effort died Friday at Palmerton
Hospital. He was a son of the late Oscar and Maude (Bachman) Everett. He
was a life-long resident of Effort. For many years he worked at the former
Ronson Corp. in Delaware Water Gap as an assembly worker, after which he
was an equipment operator for Wesley Smith Excavating of Gilbert. Later
he worked for Barry Schaffer Trucking of Kunkletown until his retirement
in 1981.
Helen Krinock
Helen Krinock, 84, of 313 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, died Friday
evening in Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of John
F. Krinock. who died in 1967. She was last employed by the former Kiddie
Kloes, Lansford, retiring after 44 years of service.
Charlotte M. Bergey
Charlotte M. Bergey, 75, formerly of Towamensing Trails,
Albrightsville, died Friday morning at her residence at Masonic Retirement
Community, Lafayette Hill, Montgomery County. She was the wife of Milton
M. Bergey Jr. They observed their 54th wedding anniversary on Jan. 24. She
was retired and had been a business manager for a computer firm in
Philadelphia.
Kenneth A.H. Christman
Kenneth A. H. Christman, 73, of Allentown died Saturday in Lehigh
Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Margaret T. (Hessinger)
Christman. They observed their 52nd wedding anniversary last November.
He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Lehigh Valley and
Allentown, for more than 30 years before retiring in 1979. Christman was
an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Charles E. Moyer
Charles E. Moyer, 95, of Bartonsville died Saturday in Blue Mountain
Personal Care Home, Kunkletown. He was the husband of the late Beatrice
A. (Hagerman) Moyer.
He was employed by PNC Bank for five years before retiring, and
previously was a manager for Acme Markets, East Stroudsburg, for 40
years, and also worked for Prudential Insurance Co. for four years.
Sister Alice Mary, IHM
Sister Alice Mary, IHM, 84, the former Margaret Breslin, died
Thursday in Camilla Hall, Immaculata. She was last stationed at St.
Gabriel's in Philadelphia.
Mrs. George A. Nowery Jr.
Mrs. Aase Maria Nowery, 54, of Sunflower Drive, Forks Township,
died Saturday in Easton Hospital. She was the wife of George A. Bowery Jr.
She was a hairdresser at various times in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and
the states of Wyoming, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Carl Schoenberger, 72, of 1911 Second St., Bethlehem, died Friday in
Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Anna
(Nemeth) Schoenberger. They observed their 49th wedding anniversary last
November. He worked in the foundry at Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 32
years before retiring. Schoenberger was an Army veteran of World War II,
having served in Alaska as a machine operator.
Mrs. Edith J. Roy
Mrs. Edith J. Roy, 82, of Saylorsburg R.3, died Saturday in Brookmont
Health Care Center, Effort. She was the widow of Bernhard Oskar Roy. She
was a cook at the Chestnut Grove Lodge, Paradise Stream, Monroe County;
the Brichwood Lodge and Cottages, Henryville; and at Brookmont Health
Care Center for 15 years before retiring in in 1976.
Harvey M. Solt
Harvey M. Solt, 73, of 286-103 Lower Nis Hollow Drive, Mahoning
Township, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Fern M. (Doll)
Solt. They observed their 48th wedding anniversary in February. He was an
annealer for Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 34 years before retiring in
1985. Solt was an Army veteran of World War II.
Thomas DeJoseph
Thomas DeJoseph, 89, of 2130 Fairmont St., Allentown, died Friday
in Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Allentown. He was the
husband of Kathryn M. (Gross) DeJoseph. They observed their 58th wedding
anniversary in March He was employed by the city of New York for 37
years before retiring and was also the groundskeeper for 25 years at Shea
Stadium for the New York Mets, the Polo Grounds for the former New York
Giants, and Ebbets Field for the former Brooklyn Dodgers.
Lloyd M. Green
Lloyd M. Green, 82, of 505 Hill Road, Palmerton, died Friday in his
home. He was the husband of the late Alberta M. (King) Green. He owned and
operated Green and Sons Contracting Equipment Co., Palmerton, before
retiring, and previously had managed the Red Rock Quarry, Nesquehoning;
worked for Little Gap Sand Quarry; and Hercules Cement Co., Stockertown;
and operated a dairy farm at his home.
Andrew Sotak
Andrew Sotak, 73, of 130 E. Ruddle St., Coaldale, died Friday in the
Berwick Retirement and Nursing Home, Berwick, Columbia County. He was
the husband of the late Dorothy (Caliper) Sotak. He was a maintenance man
for the Schuylkill County Housing Authority in Coaldale before retiring in
1986. Prior to that he was a miner for the former Coaldale Mining
Company. Sotak was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II having served
in the South Pacific.
Loraine J. Krause
Loraine J. "Lanie" Krause, 72, of Slatedale, died Thursday in Lehigh
Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She was a trimmer at Holiday Fashions,
Slatedale, for many years before retiring.
Elwood G. Gross
Elwood G. Gross, 77, of Germansville, died Friday in the Lehigh
Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Mary Ellen
(Wanamaker) Gross. He was a powder line operator for IMC, Inc., formerly
the Trojan Powder Co., Allentown, for 15 years before retiring, and
previously was a mechanic at the Germansville Garage for many years. He
also worked for the Ormrod Cement Co. and the Dragon Cement Co.,
Northampton. Gross served as a technical sergeant in the Army during
World War II.
Mrs. Edith I. Hummel Brown
Mrs. Edith I. Hummel Brown, 84, of Cedarbrook, South Whitehall
Township, formerly of Whitehall Township, died Friday in Allentown
Osteopathic Medical Center. She was the widow of Alvin A. Brown.
Tara J. Minnich
Tara J. Minnich, 17, of 144 Fourth St., Slatington, died Thursday
following a one-car accident on SR248 in Lehigh Township west of
Cherryville. She was a former student at Northern Lehigh High School.
Mrs. Paul F. Haupt
Mrs. Margaret Ethel Haupt, 85, formerly of 120 Crest Way, Emmaus,
died Thursday in Lehigh Manor, Lower Nazareth Township. She was the
wife of Paul F. Haupt. They observed their 48th wedding anniversary in
April.
