Mrs. Marie C. Raibeck
Mrs. Marie C. Raibeck, 71, of 1317 Packerton Dam Drive, Lehighton, died Monday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Edward A. Raibeck.
She worked as a welder at the Frankford Arsenal during World War II.
Born in Mount Carmel, she was a daughter of the late James M. and Theresa (Covaleski) Manney.
She was a 1943 graduate of the former Mount Carmel Catholic High School.
Mrs. Raibeck was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Surviving are a daughter Cynthia, wife of Francis A. Bowman, with whom she resided; two sons, James M. of Allentown and Edward M. of Albrightsville; a sister Theresa, wife of Joseph Tomaschik of Levittown; two brothers, Leonard of Edison, N.J., and William, address unknown; and four grandchildren.

Clayton V. Kunkel
Clayton V. Kunkel, 73, of Kempton R.2, died Monday in his home.
He was a millwright for the former Western Electric Company, Allentown, for 21 years before retiring in 1978.
Born in Lynn Township, he was a son of the late Warren and Beulah (Rausch) Kunkel.
He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Stony Run.
Kunkel was an Army veteran of World War II, a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kutztown, and a member of the Lyons Fire Company No. 1.
Surviving are a son, Lee V. of Kempton R.2; two sisters, Miriam, wife of Clifford Reichel of Kutztown, and Mrs. Arlene Kistler of Trexlertown; four brothers, Howard of Kempton, Clarence and Ellis, both of Kempton R.2, and Herman of Allentown; and nieces and nephews.
Allen R. Shanton
Allen R. Shanton, 30, of 7093 Channel One Sea Village, in Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., died Monday in the emergency room of Columbia Brunswick Hospital, Supply N.C. He was the husband of Heather (Butler) Shanton.
A medical examiner said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound of the chest.
Born in Palmerton, and raised in Lehighton, he was a son of Richard J. Shanton of Tamaqua and LaVaun (Knappenberger) Shanton of Lehighton.
He graduated from Lehighton High School and Stevens Trade School, Lancaster. He later attended Alferd College, Alferd, N.Y., where he graduated in 1988 with an Associates Degree in Carpentry and Architecture.
He was self-employed and owned and operated his own construction company in North Carolina.
He was a member of Salem UCC Church in East Penn Township.
Surviving with his widow and parents is his maternal grandmother, Edna G. Hahn of Lehighton; two brothers, Peter and Mark, both of Lehighton, a sister, Paula, wife of David Breiner of Mantzville and several nieces and nephews.

Charles W. Eberts
Charles W. Eberts, 78, of Andreas R.1, died this morning in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Pearl (Schaefer) Eberts, who died May 25, 1994.

Howard E. Jessup Sr.
Howard E. Jessup Sr., 80, of Slatington, died Tuesday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Edna B. (Blevins) Jessup. They observed their 55th wedding anniversary in May.
He was a tree trimmer for Asplundh Tree, Willow Grove, Montgomery County, for 44 years before retiring in 1979.
Born in Peekskill, N.Y., he was a son of the late Charles and Emeline (Croft) Jessup.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Howard E. Jr. of Slatington; five brothers, Charles of Stockton, Calif., Willard of Portola, Calif., Albert of Peekskill, Richard of Hayward, Calif., and Leonard of Big Walter, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Estelle Fontaine of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two grandsons.
Mrs. Lucy F. Britton
Mrs. Lucy F. Britton, 94, of 219 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, died Tuesday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of Simon L. Britton Sr.
She was a seamstress for Terry Ann Fashions, Slatington, for 23 years before retiring in 1967.
Born in Little Gap, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Weiss) Smith.
Surviving are a daughter Joyce, wife of George Hagenbuch, and a son, Simon L. Jr., both of Palmerton; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Eva W. Jones
Mrs. Eva W. Jones, 94, of Weatherwood, 1000 Evergreen Ave., Weatherly, died Wednesday in the home. She was the widow of John Jones.
She was a clerk for the former Costenbader's Drug Store, Palmerton, for 50 years.
Born in Bowmanstown, she was a daughter of the late James and Amanda (Rehrig) Weidaw.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth J., wife of Mark Steigerwalt of Rincon, Ga.; two sons, John R. and David W., both of Allentown; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was the last member of her immediate family.

Charles W. Eberts
Charles W. Eberts, 78, of Andreas R.1, died Wednesday in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, where he was a patient for three days. He was the husband of the late Pearl M. (Schaefer) Eberts, who died in 1994.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Union Local 542, Reading, working in construction for various contractors for 32 years before retiring in 1983.
Born in West Penn Township, he was a son of the late Jonas and Ida (Kistler) Eberts.
Surviving are three daughters, Charleyn A., wife of Wayne Yenser, and Jacqueline I., wife of Gregory Owens, both of Emmaus, and Dorothy J., wife of Herbert C. Wink of Andreas R.1; a son, Raymond W. of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a brother Willard of Andreas R.1; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother William, who died in 1971.

Memorial services for Richard E. Miller, 67, of 517 Mahoning St., Lehighton, who died Nov. 6 in his home, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton, with the Rev. David H. Knoebel officiating, followed in interment
in the St. John Church Cemetery , New Mahoning.
