Robert C. Long Sr.
Robert C. Long Sr., 70, of 906 N. Broadway, Wind Gap, died Monday in the Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret B. (Lobb) Long. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in September.
He worked in the dye house at the former Blue Ridge Textile Company, Pen Argyl, before retiring in 1970.
Born in East Bangor, he was a son of the late Clair and Minnie (Warrich) Long.
He was a member of the Roseto congregation of Kingdom Hamm of Jehovah's Witnesses, Bangor.
Long was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, George B. of Saylorsburg and Robert C. Jr. of Brodheadsville; three sisters, Helen Mowrey of Marshall's Creek, Doris Shafer of Wind Gap and Sharon Hineline of Bangor; a brother Edwin of Bangor; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Wilburt N. York
Wilburt N. York, 81, of the Gnaden Huetten Nursing Home, Lehighton, formerly of Lansford, died Sunday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Catherine (McGeehan) York.
He was a welder for FMC Shipyard, Philadelphia, for many years before retiring.
Born in Summit Hill, he was a son of the late Richard and Mary (Stoudt) York.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansford.
Surviving are two sons, Richard of Aurora, Colo., and Joseph of Arvada, Colo.; a daughter, Margaret Giblin of Pittsburg, Calif.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Mastriano, a sister, Albina Neyer and two brothers, Russell and William.

Mrs. Kathleen M. Reber
Mrs. Kathleen M. Reber, 51, of 230 S. Wayne St., Orwigsburg, died Saturday in the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic. She was the widow of John L. Reber, who died in 1993.
She was a machine operator for the Union Knitting Mill, Schuylkill Haven, until her illness.
Born in Orwigsburg, she was a daughter of the late Aaron M. and Kathryn M. (Fryer) Strouse.
She was a member of the Reform congregation of Zion Red Church, West Brunswick Township.
Surviving are a daughter, Candice K., and a son, John C.A., both at home; five sisters, Anna Shoener and Wilhelmina Kleckner, both of Orwigsburg, Ester Kerwick and Sandra Shappell, both of Pottsville R.2, and Gladys Ketner of Emmaus; a brother, Aaron M. of Schuylkill Haven; and nieces and nephews.
Forrest B. Holtzer Jr.
Forrest B. Holtzer Jr., 39, of 7156 Route 873, Slatington, died Sunday in the Palmerton Hospital.
Born in Lehighton, he was a son of Forrest B. Holtzer Sr. of Lehighton and the late Margaret L. (Fritz) Holtzer.
He was a manager for the Northern Lehigh High School basketball team from 1974-82.
Surviving in addition to his father are a sister Anita, wife of Richard Bowman, with whom he resided; a brother, Michael C. of Macon, Mo.; three stepbrothers, Vaughn Fisher of Palmerton and Bruce, Terry and Craig Fisher, all of Weissport; and a stepsister, Deborah Fisher of Weissport.

Walter J. Baus
Walter J. Baus, 84, of 319 Keystone St., Slatington, died Sunday in the Palmerton Hospital after being stricken at home. He was the husband of the late Adele U. (Roth) Baus.
He was a rear chainman in the beam yard of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 33 years before retiring in 1974.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Jacob F. and Ella L. (Frederick) Baus.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Slatington.
Baus was a 32nd degree mason in F. and A.M. Lodge No. 440 and the Masonic Chapter Lodge No. 292, both of Slatington, and a life member of the Vigilant Fire Company, Slatington.
Surviving are a son, Darrell C., and a daughter, Beverly R., wife of Edward Abraham Sr., both of Slatington, a sister, Mrs. Mae Rhode of Emmaus; five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

John S. Liberda
John S. Liberda, 64, of Whitehall Township, died Monday in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Frieda E. (Bruckner) Liberda. They observed their 28th wedding anniversary last May.
He worked in maintenance at the Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, for the past 7-1/2 years, and previously was a chainman for the former Lehigh Structural Steel, Allentown, for 33 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Michael J. and Anna (Kryzan) Liberda.
He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Allentown.
Liberda was a sergeant in the Army during the Korean Conflict, having served with the 1st Regiment Old Guard.
He was a member of American Legion Post 16, Slatington, and the Fullerton Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, Stanley J. Toczek and Michael J. Liberda, both of Whitehall; three daughters, Suzanne T., wife of Barry Lagler, and Marianne I., wife of Joseph Hoffman, both of Whitehall, and Wanda C., wife of Richard Benkovic of Bethlehem; five sisters, Anna, wife of Emil Merker of Catasauqua, Joan, wife of Frederick Willenbecher, Agnes, wife of George Nyemscek, and Helen Soltis, all of Allentown, and Mary Olesh of Coplay; six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Helen Simkovich
Helen Simkovich, of 24 Tamaqua St., Beaver Meadows, retired postmaster of the borough, died Sunday evening in her home.
Born in Beaver Meadows, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Anna M. (Steber) Simkovich.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hazleton; the Confraternity of Christian Women; and the National and State Postmasters associations.
Surviving are five sisters, Anna Simkovich and Terry Sackette, both at home, Irene, wife of Stephen Grega of Weatherly, Sister Margaret Simkovich of Danville and Marie Miller of Watertown, Wis.; ans nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joseph.
Thomas O. Strohl
Thomas O. Strohl, 82, of 198 W. Coal St., Nesquehoning, died Tuesday morning in his home. He was the husband of Ella (Pavlik) Strohl.

Floyd A. Yaich
Floyd A. Yaich, 60, of 97 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe, died Monday evening in his home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Barbara (Rehrig) Yaich. They observed their ninth wedding anniversary Nov. 2.
Prior to retiring, he was a machinist for Dorr-Oliver, Inc., Hazleton.
Born in Coalport, Jim Thorpe, he was a son of the late Venus and Pauline (Smith) Yaich.
A corporal with the 8th Marines after the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the Jim Thorpe V.F.W. Post.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Antoinette, wife of Gary Weaver of Jim Thorpe, and Laura Gallagher of Nesquehoning; four sons, Floyd Jr. in Nevada, Daniel and James, both of Jim Thorpe, and William of Bethlehem; a stepson, Ronald Kuhn of Jim Thorpe; a stepdaughter, Ronda Kuhn in New Jersey; four brothers, Elwood, Vincent, Paul and Daniel, all of Jim Thorpe; three sisters, Dolores, wife of Joseph Rader, Darlene, wife of Kenneth Redline, and Diane, wife of David Gearhart, all of Jim Thorpe; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

John Nalesnik, 86, of 236 Mussmano Ave., Nesquehoning, a former mayor in the community, died Monday in his home. He was the husband of the late Peggy (Bernatovich) Nalesnik.

Marjorie A. McHugh
Marjorie A. McHugh, 75, of 123 South St., Jim Thorpe, died Monday at her home. She was the wife of Edward 'Ned' McHugh, and the widow of George Poddo, who died in 1968. She and her second husband observed their 22nd anniversary on Oct. 7.
She was a retired sewing machine operator, working for the former Berkley Bags, on Broadway, Jim Thorpe.
Born in Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Marjorie (Gallagher) Barron.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe, where she was a lector and belonged to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Women's Club and the Catholic Daughters Court Ryan No. 911.
She was also a member of the Dolan-Jones -Martino Legion post 304 Auxiliary.
Surviving with her husband are four daughters, Ann Adler of New Mexico; Margtie, wife of Jimmie Ruston of Highland, Texas; Mira, wife of Anthony Mongi, Summit Hill; and Patricia, wife of Michael Trine of Jim Thorpe; a son, George, of Walppinger, N.Y.; a brother, Ambrose Barron of Wilkes-Barre; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. May McGinley and Mrs. Anna Rusnock.
