Mrs. Mary A. Micko
Mrs. Mary A. Micko, 82, of 424 Lehigh St., Jim Thorpe, died Thursday morning at the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of John Micko, who died July 19, 1985.
Born in Lansford, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Martinkovic.
She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe, and a member of the Pennsylvania Ladies Slovak Catholic Union.
The last member of her immediate family she is survived by a daughter, Carol, wife of David Fisher of Coplay; and a grandson.
The Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe, is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond W. Roth
Raymond W. Roth, 83, of 614 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton, died Thursday in the Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anastasia J. (Lovelace) Roth.
He was a retired laborer for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton.
Born in Lehigh Gap, he was the son of the late Miranda Turnbach.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Palmerton; the Palmerton Rod & Gun Club; and the East Penn Rod & Gun Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ellen, wife of Arthur E. George Jr. of Palmerton; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

John W. Reynolds
John W. Reynolds, 49, of 1765 Running Deer Drive, Auburn, Schuylkill County, died Sunday, Nov. 24, in the Pottsville Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra K. (Wills) Reynolds. They were married for 13 years.
He was a steel construction worker, last employed at Concrete Safety, Bethel.
Born in Wallingford, Conn., he was a son Edward and Ann (Washkerich) Reynolds.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a former member of the United Steel Workers of America.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Beth Burkevage of Cressona; a step son, Stephen Sanko of Tamaqua; four brothers, Edward, Thomas and James, all of Wallingford, and Robert of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Adam A. Gigli
Adam A. Gigli, formerly of Paterson, N.J., and a resident of Hazleton Nursing and Geriatric Center, died Tuesday. He was the husband of the late Caroline (Delasandro) Gigli.
He was employed at Marcal Paper Products Corp., Paterson, until retiring at which time he moved to Hazleton.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Frank and Ida Gigli.
He was a 1933 graduate of Tamaqua High School, where he played football.
Surviving are two sons, Ben of Hazleton, and Frank of Parsippany, N.J.; a daughter, Carol, wife of Douglas Hamilton of Midland Park, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Margaret Merics
Mrs. Margaret Shepherd Merics, 95, formerly of 266 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton, died Tuesday in Weatherwood, Weatherly. She was the widow of John Merics and Alfred Shepherd.
She worked in housekeeping of the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, for 10 1/2 years before retiring in 1964.
Born in Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Pavlik) Skrovanek.
She was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Fred J. Becker Jr.
Fred J. Becker Jr., 65, of 217 Turner St., Allentown, died Wednesday in Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Reppert) Becker. They were married 37 years last December.
He was a forklift operator at Mack Trucks Inc., Allentown, for 32 years, retiring in 1984.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Fred J. Sr. and Beatrice (Christman) Becker.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Sandra L., wife of Leroy Steverson of Blair, S.C., Diane M. Trumbauer of Reading, and Debra A. Becker of Allentown; a son, Fred J. III of Tamaqua; stepson, Bernard T. Dougherty, and a stepdaughter, Ruth Dougherty, wife of Craig Stanley, both of Catasauqua; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Stephen Ertle Jr.
Stephen Ertle Jr., 67, of Analomink, died Thursday in his home. He was the husband of K. May (Eschenbach) Ertle.
He was owner and president of Ertle Volvo Subaru, Stroudsburg.
Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Stephen W. Sr. and Bessie (Wrabel) Ertle.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Craig's Meadow.
Among his survivors is a son James P. of Kunkletown.s
Shirley May Applegate
Shirley May Applegate, 63, of Blackwood, N.J., died Tuesday at the Cooper Medical Center, Camden, N.J. She was the wife of Arthur Austin Applegate, Sr. They were married 37 years.
Born in Trenton, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Paul Raymond and Anna May (Stout) Whitebread.
She was a resident of Robbinsville, N.J. for 27 years.
She was a graduate of Hamilton High West, Class of 1951, and was a member and choir member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church for 20 years. She was also a member, organist and choir director of the Windsor United Methodist Church 25 years, organist and choir director of the Hamilton Square Baptist Church for five years. She was a member and organist of the Chews Landing United Methodist Church of Glendora, N.J. for nine years. She was also lead vocalist for the 'Best of Two Worlds' band, Owner and Operator of Town and Country True Value Hardware Store of Allentown, N.J., and the Sportscraft franchise in Robbinsville.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, The Rev. Paul Woolverton, Jr., of Appleton, Minn., and Arthur A. Applegate, Jr. of Nesquehoning; two daughters, Sharyn L., wife of James C. Danner of Ewing Township, and Mary-Ann, wife of Alvin J. Dyott of Hamilton Township, N.J.; two brothers, P. Raymond Whitebread of Denver, Colo., and Gene E. Whitebread of Pennington, N.J.; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, J. Kenneth Whitebread.

Anthony C. Giovenco
Anthony C. Giovenco, 73, of 615 Iron St., Lehighton, died Thursday in the Mahoning Valley Rehabilitation Center in Mahoning Township. He was the husband of Miriam (Volkert) Giovenco. They were married 49 years in March.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Carmelo and Rosaria Giovenco.
He and his wife were the owners and operators of a coal and fuel oil distributorship in Palmerton until 1971. After that he worked for K.J. Breiner, Co., retiring in 1988.
A veteran of World War II, he reached the rank of Corporal, serving in the European Theater of Operations.
He was a member of American Legion Post 314, Lehighton, where he recently received his 50-year membership certificate.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Weissport.
Surviving with his widow ate two daughters, Nancy, wife of Robert Miller of Harrisburg and Barbara, wife of Howard Jones of Lehighton. Also five granddaughters; one brother, Joseph of Bethlehem.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Benny, and a sister, Mary Marting.

Robert P. Bolton Sr.
Robert P. Bolton, Sr., 75, of Effort, and formerly of Hampton and Andover, N.J., died Thursday in his home.
He was the husband of the late Ruth E. (Cordo) Bolton who died in September.
Born in Scranton, he had been an independent owner/operator of a trucking business for 26 years, retiring in 1986. Prior to that he had been a truck driver for the Dairyman's League in White House, N.J. 10 years. Before that he had worked for the Jersey Central Railroad in Rareton, N.J.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army National Guard, 28th Keystone Division.
He had lived in Hampton and Andover, N.J. 41 years, before moving to Effort in 1987.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are two sons, Robert P. Bolton Jr. of Homer, N.Y., and Harold J. Bolton of Hineston, La.; two brothers, Tom Kelly of Long Island, N.Y., and John Kelly of White River Junction, Vt.; a sister, Romaine Roche of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Heather M. Wade
Heather M. Wade, 3, of Stroudsburg R. 8, died Friday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
Born in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of Carl E. Wade Jr. of Stroudsburg R.8, and Maureen McCorry of Rochester, N.Y.
Surviving with her parents are he paternal grandparents, Carl E. and Gerry (Hardenstine) Wade of Stroudsburg R.8, and her maternal grandmother, Ruth Ann Barry of Webster, N.Y.
