Walter T. Seiler
Walter T. Seiler, 58, of 215 S. First St., Lehighton, died Monday in the Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Betty J. (Remaley) Seiler. They were married last month.
He was a construction worker for the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company, Martins Creek.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Ernest Seiler and Ann (Beers) Heckman.
He was a member of the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club; Bowmanstown Fire Company; Fullerton Fire Company; Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, the American Legion and Eagles Lodge, all of Lehighton; the Packerton Old Timers; and the Franklin Township Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three sons, Gregory Peitz of New Ringgold, Danny Seiler of Quakertown and Gerry Seiler of Lehighton; three stepsons, Bradley Meinhart of Waymart, Wayne County, Brent Meinhart of Parryville and John Lloyd of Cherryville; a stepdaughter Barbara, wife of Thomas Trimble of Danielsville; a sister, Mrs. Doris Derkosh of Palmerton; a granddaughter, two step-granddaughters and a step-great-granddaughter.
The Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, is in charge of the arrangements.
Edwin R. Giffels
Edwin R. Giffels, 80, of Stroudsburg, died Monday in his home. He was the husband of the late Annabelle (Frailey) Giffels.
He was a rural letter carrier for 15 years before retiring in 1981, and previously was a linotype operator for the Hughes Printing Company, East Stroudsburg, and the Pocono Record, Stroudsburg.
Born in Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Edwin J. and Rosa (Elsenberger) Giffels.
An Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Alaska Theater, he was a member of the Eagles Aerie and the V.F.W. Post, both of Stroudsburg, and the George N. Kemp American Legion Post 346, East Stroudsburg.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas E. of East Stroudsburg and Denise E. of Brodheadsville; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Rosetta A. Young
Mrs. Rosetta A. 'Rosie' Young, 83, of 172 Old Mill Road, Huffs Church, died Monday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of John W. Young, who died in 1989.
Born in Bern Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late William and Sarah (Henn) Miller.
She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, New Berlinville, Berks County.
Surviving are a son, John D. of Barto; a brother Daniel of Coaldale; three grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Emma H. Greenamyer
Mrs. Emma H. Greenamyer, 82, of 4605 Werley's Corner Road, New Tripoli, formerly of Avalon, N.J., died Sunday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of George Greenamyer.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Cheston and Emma L. (Brooks) Hoskins.
She was a member of St. Anne Episcopal Church, Trexlertown.
Surviving are a son, D. Gregory Thompson of Pinehurst, N.C.; a daughter Wendy, wife of Joseph Reeder of Macungie; a brother, William H. of Palmyra, Lebanon County; two sisters, Anne, wife of Stanley Sheldon of Wilton, Conn., and Jane, wife of Joseph G. Anthony of Jamestown, N.Y.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mabel L. Schlegel
Mrs. Mabel L. Schlegel, 83, of Bible Fellowship Home, Nazareth, formerly of Cherry Hill, Bushkill Township, died Monday in the Muhlenberg Rehabilitation Center, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Kermit W. Schlegel.
She was a cook and food preparer at the former Hommer's Restaurant, Nazareth, for five years before retiring in 1950, and previously had worked at the Hanoverville Hotel and in local restaurants for many years.
Born in Cherryville, she was a daughter of the late Richard A. and Lizzie (Moyer) Hahn.
She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Nazareth.
Surviving are a sister Verna, wife of Norman Fehnel of Cherry Hill; and two brothers, Earl and Ira, both of Hecktown.
Mrs. Margaret E. Koenig
Mrs. Margaret E. Koenig, 71, of 1245 Pine Run Road, Lehighton, died Saturday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Warren C. Koenig, who died in 1993.
Born in Parryville, she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Eva (Strausberger) Frable.
She was a member of the Lehighton congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Kingdom Hall.
Surviving are a son, Donald C. of Bath; a daughter, Sandra E., wife of Earl Ziegenfus, with whom she resided; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Mrs. Ella L. Krause
Mrs. Ella L. Krause, 87, formerly of New Tripoli, died Monday in Lehigh Manor, Lower Macungie Township. She was the widow of George B. Krause.
Born in New Tripoli, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Walter) Metzger.
She was of the United Church of Christ faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Sallyann L., wife of W. Dennis Alexander of Portland, Ore.; four sisters, Edna Roth of Topton, Ruth Lentz of New Tripoli, Mary, wife of Kenneth Morton of Fogelsville, and Mollie, wife of Charles Haines of Wilmington, Del.; and two grandchildren.
Mrs Ella Strohl
Mrs. Ella Strohl, 77, of 198 W. Coal St., Nesquehoning, died Monday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of Thomas O. Strohl, who died Nov. 19.
She retired in 1984 working as a trimmer for Cassie Sportswear in Nesquehoning.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late John and Elthea (Wyshousky) Pavlik.
A lifeling resident of Nesquehoning, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nesquehoning.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandy, wife of Kevin Artz of Lehighton, and Ruth, wife of Ken Ansbach of Nesquehoning; two brothers, Nick of Colonia, N.J., and Wash, of Ralway, N.J.; a sister, Anna Derrick of Lehighton; and four grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Peter, Theodore, John and Andrew; and two sisters, Julia and Mary.
