Mrs. William E. Heigl
Mrs. Margaret T. Heigl, 75, of Whitehall Township, died Saturday in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of William E. Heigl. They observed their 41st wedding anniversary in May.
She was a packing machine operator for the former Hellertown Manufacturing Company for 30 years before retiring in 1982.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Caroline (Mikulcik) Chudy.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Coplay.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Mary Alice, wife of Stephen Lang Jr. of Catasauqua, and Cynthia C. Kosmatka of Pittsburgh; her twin sister, Mary Rose Gartland of Whitehall; and two grandsons.
Mrs. Bruce W. Deppe
Mrs. Esther P. Youse Deppe, 65, of 626 Dettmers Lane, Northampton, died Sunday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Bruce W. Deppe and the widow of Clair H. Youse.
She worked in garment factories in the Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon counties areas for over 30 years before retiring as a sewing machine operator for Caesar's Apparel, Danielsville, in 1989.
Born in West Penn Township, she was a daughter of the late Lewis H. and Hattie M. (Snyder) Steigerwalt.
She was a member of Airport Road Baptist Church, Allentown, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and superintendent.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Karen L., wife of the Rev. Robert R. Ueltzen of Crete, Ill.; a son, the Rev. Kevin C. Youse of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; five sisters, Mrs. Mary K. Rudelitsch of Slatington, Mrs. Edna M. Mertz of Lehighton, Mrs. Thelma H. Snyder of Lansford, Ruth C., wife of James Kemmerer of New Ringgold, and Barbara E., wife of Oliver Bredbenner of Northampton; a brother, Stanley W. of Cherry Hill, N.J.; three stepdaughters, Dawn D., wife of Eugene Wainwright of Whitehall Township, Danielle D., wife of Frederick Snyder of Bethlehem, and Denise D. Deppe of Austin, Tex.; five stepsons, David D., Duane D. and Daryl D. Deppe, all of Walnutport, Dean D. Deppe of Northampton and Douglas D. Deppe of Killeen, Tex.; five grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren.

Robert A. Young
Robert A. Young, 78, of Saylorsburg, died Friday in his home. He was the husband of Mary (Lippincott) Young. They observed their 40th wedding anniversary in September.
He was a machine operator for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 33 years before retiring in 1972, and also had farmed in Saylorsburg for 41 years.
Born in McIlhaney, he was a son of the late Henry and Lottie (Dotter) Young.
He was a member of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, Hamilton Square, Monroe County.
Young was an Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 79th Division in the European Theater of Operations. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge and the European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Robert A. Jr. of Saylorsburg; two daughters, Wanda George of Kunkletown R.2 and Donna Van Why of Kunkletown; a sister, Ellen Shuster of Saylorsburg; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this morning from the church's covenant house, followed by interment
in the Buena Vista Cemetery , Brodheadsville. The Kresge Funeral Home, Brodheadsville, was in charge of the arrangements.
Woodrow F. Butts
Woodrow F. Butts, 82, of Saylorsburg, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Marie (Charles) Butts. They observed their 24th wedding anniversary in August.
He was a foreman for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 20 years before retiring in 1976.
Born in Saylorsburg, he was a son of the late Franklin and Rosa Butts.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Butts was a member of the old Blue Ridge Hood and Ladder Baseball Team, Saylorsburg, and later managed the Saylorsburg Baseball Team. He was a member of F. & A.M. Lodge No. 594, Pen Argyl; Rajah Temple, Reading; and the Slate Belt Shooting Association, Bangor.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a sister, Laura Sweeney of Fredon, N.J.; two stepdaughters, Beverly Hofford of McMichaels and Alice Kotulka of Perkasie; four grandchildren, a great-grandson and nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth M. Kistler
Elizabeth M. Kistler, 83, of 245 Cedar St., Tamaqua, died Friday in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale.
She was a housekeeper in Tamaqua until retiring, and previously had worked for the former Atlas Powder Company, Reynolds, during the 1940s and 1950s.
Born in Tamaqua, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Zeird) Stokes.
She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Tamaqua, and the Tamaqua Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a daughter, Emily V. Yemm of Philadelphia; a brother Charles of Jacksonville; a sister, Mrs. Helen Heffelfinger of Tamaqua; and a grandson.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wyndham and Elmer; and a sister Kathryn.

Mrs. George F. Smith
Mrs. Dorothy L. Smith, 69, of 625 St. John St., Catasauqua, died Saturday in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem. She was the wife of George F. Smith. They observed their 46th wedding anniversary in March.
Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Rachel L. (Davis) Davis.
She was a member of St. Stephen Episcopal Church, Whitehall Township.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, James D. of Andreas and Robert G. of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Patti L. of Allentown; and four grandchildren.
Ernest Faisz
Ernest Faisz, 75, of 3153 Brodhead Road, Bethlehem Township, died Friday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Doris (Confer) Faisz. They were married for 20 years.
He was an office worker for Conrail from 1947 until retiring in 1981, and was also a driving instructor from 1968-73.
Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John and Theresa (Roth) Faisz.
He was a member of St. John Windish Lutheran Church and the First Windish Fraternal Society, both of Bethlehem, and the Fountain Hill American Legion Post.
Faisz was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Ronald of Bethlehem; a daughter Carol, wife of Sebastian Nicholas Ulsch of Baltimore, Md.; four stepsons, David A. Hedmeck of Slatington, Mark D. Hedmeck of Walnutport, Paul A. Hedmeck of Lehighton and John M. Hedmeck Jr. of Orangevale, Calif.; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Charles F. McFadden
Mrs. Helena T. McFadden, 84, of Allentown, died Saturday in the Palm Garden Nursing Center, Tampa, Fla. She was the wife of Charles F. McFadden.
She was formerly an office worker for the Allen Electric Company, Allentown, and previously had worked in the Allentown School District administration building.
Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late Frank W. and Jennie M. (Leyer) Trice.
She was a member of St. Joseph Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown, where she sang in the choir.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a sister, Mrs. Irene E. Mantz of Allentown.
Elek Daku
Elek Daku, 85, of Eldo Lakes, Kunkletown, formerly of North Catasauqua, died Friday in the Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Kersturi) Daku. They were married for 56 years.
He was the owner and operator of Daku Auto Body, North Catasauqua, for 27 years before retiring in 1975.
Born in Kipling, Saskatchewan, Canada, he was a son of the late Elek and Julia (Orban) Daku.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gilbert, and a former of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.
Daku was a founding member of the Lehigh Valley Auto Body Association and a member of the Eldo Lakes Civic Association since 1975.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Alexander of North Catasauqua; a daughter Susan, wife of Joseph F. Crock of Broomall, Delaware County; six sisters, Malvin Bona of Chicago, Ill., Matilda Czipko and Rose Simon, both of Toronto, Canada, Julie Doka and Louise Szakacs, both of Kipling, and Elsie Credicott of London, Ontario, Canada; two brothers, Alexander and George, both of Kipling; six grandchildren ad nine great-grandchildren.
Robert H. Dinkelacker
Robert H. Dinkelacker, 67, of 26 E. Fourth St., Jim Thorpe, formerly of Hazleton and Easton, died Thursday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Nancy Ann (Doyle) Dinkelacker.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company before retiring in 1991.
Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late William A. and Helen (Ziegler) Dinkelacker.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Dinkelacker was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion Post 588, Easton, and the Diamond Fire Company No. 2, Hazleton.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Nancy Price of Easton; two sons, William C. of Easton and Robert of Hazleton; a brother, William A. of Easton; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Roland M. Miller Sr.
Mrs. Shirley A. Miller, 61, of Kutztown, died Friday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Roland M. Miller Sr. They observed their 41st wedding anniversary in September.
She and her husband had a merchandise route in New Tripoli, Breinigsville and Fogelsville for five years.
Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Irene (Romig) Brauchle.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Scott of Stines Corner, Andrew of Mertztown and Roland M. Jr. of Minnetonka, Minn.; a daughter Dorothy, wife of Barry Merkel of Macungie; eight sisters, Helen, wife of Charles Luecke, and Emily, wife of Herb Heitzman, both of Easton, Diana Speck, residence unknown, Mrs. Jean Wolfe of Bethlehem, Mrs. Gertrude Schreck of Bath, Leatrice, wife of Robert Siegfried in Arizona, Fredericka, wife of Jack Merkel of Northampton, and Virginia, wife of Richard Neave of Allentown; and nine grandchildren.
Lawrence O. Grim
Lawrence O. Grim, 86, of 345 William St., Slatington, formerly of 201 Main St., Slatington, died Thursday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Margaret A. (DePuy) Grim. They would have observed their 62nd wedding anniversary this month.
He was employed by the former C.W. Williams Co., and later by the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, from 1947 until retiring in 1975. He previously had worked for the former Trojan Powder Company, 1937-47, and was also the owner and operator of the Arcade Restaurant, Slatington.
Born in Slatington, he was a son of the late Oscar and Annie (Long) Grim.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Slatington, where he played in the orchestra for many years.
Grim was a former vice president of the Slatington Boys Band and a member of the Moose Lodge, Slatington, and its band, and also belonged to the Premiere Orchestra, Slatington. He was also a life member of the Vigilant Fire Company, Slatington.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Natalie K., wife of Robert P. Raykos of Bethlehem, and Annette M., wife of Byron H. Farber, with whom he resided; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this morning in the church, followed by private interment
in the Union Cemetery , Slatington. The Harding-Fox Funeral Home, Slatington, was in charge of the arrangements.
Herman M. Zellner
Herman M. Zellner, 74, of Bath, died Friday in his home. He was the husband of Jennie Marie (Meagher) Zellner. They observed their 51st wedding anniversary last April.
He was a wholesale distributor for the former General Bakers and Maier's Sunbeam Bakery, Emmaus, for many years before retiring.
Born in Germansville, he was a son of the late Elmer D. and Naomi C.E. (Heil) Zellner.
He was a former member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, New Tripoli.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a private first class in the Infantry and received e Purple Heart Medal after being wounded in the Battle of Normandy.
He was a member of the Bath American Legion Post.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, David M. of Nazareth; a daughter, Annette L. Wean of Bethlehem; two brothers, Curtis L. of Phillipsburg, N.J., and Erwin E. of Slatington; and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Doris A. Hutchison
Mrs. Doris A. Hutchison, 80, of the Bayshore Health Center, Holmdel, N.J., formerly of 412 S. Third St., Lehighton, died Thursday in the center. She was the widow of Harry Hutchison.
Born in Johnson City, Neb., she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Moore) Seibert.
She was a former member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Lehighton.
Surviving are two sons, Harry of Hazlet, N.J., and Capt. Jeffrey A. (USN) of Bowie, Md.; a brother William of Brownsville; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Rose Arrone, 88, of 2762 Anita Drive, Dover, Pa., formerly of Coaldale, who died Friday in her home, was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Balazovich.
Mrs. Hedwig O. Niehoff
Mrs. Hedwig O. Niehoff, 93, formerly of 143 Alum St., Lehighton, died Sunday evening in Weatherwood, Weatherly. Was the widow of John Fashing, who died in 1944, and Fred Niehoff, who died in 1964.
Born in Vienna, Austria, daughter of the late John and Maria Kurz.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton.
Surviving are three sons, John Fashing of Whitehall, William Fashing, of Fort Ashby, W. Va., and Richard Fashing of Nazareth; a daughter, Hedwig, wife of Franklin Rex of Lehighton; three stepsons, Robert Niehoff of Palmerton; Luther Niehoff of Alexandria, Va.; and Wilbur Niehoff of Lehighton; two brothers, Othmar and Hans, both in Austria; 29 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Frieda Langkaner.

Mrs. Magdalene Willassen
Mrs. Magdalene Willassen, 84, of 129 E. Phillip St., Coaldale, died Sunday in Weatherwood, Weatherly. She was the widow of Ernest Dardas and Finn Willassen.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Stankovic) Navratil.
Surviving are a daughter, Marie, wife of Nicholas Sparich of Nesquehoning; three sons, James Dardas of Pottstown, Thomas Dardas of Houston, Tex., and Joseph Dardas of Coaldale; six sisters, Mrs. Stephen (Mary) Gochal of Whiting, N.J., Frances Scalla and Violet Calabrese, both of New York, N.Y., Mrs. Paul (Catherine) Vitek of Lansford, Julia Pribila of Coaldale, and Mrs. Paul (Stephanie) Hlavac of Breinigsville; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sally; four brothers, Joseph, Michael, frank and John; and two sisters, Rose and Helen.
