Mrs. Emma S. Webb
Mrs. Emma S. Webb, 77, formerly of Palmerton, died Sunday morning
in The Highlands at Wyomissing, Berks County, where she resided for the
past four years. She was the widow of Sidney E. Webb Esq., who died in
1978. She taught physical education and was a guidance counselor in
Palmerton Area School District for 44 years before retiring in 1984
Elem Bontrager
Elem "Bonny" Bontrager, 81, formerly of Tamaqua, of Rest Haven,
Schuylkill Haven, died today in Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville.
William E. Wall
William E. "Bill" Wall, 69, of Box 1287, Barnesville R.1, died
Saturday in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was the husband of
Gayle (Fritchman) Wall. He was employed by General Electric in Allentown
for 33 years and later worked for Black and Decker, Allentown, for two
years before retiring. Wall was a Navy veteran.
Mrs. Daniel Weiksner
Mrs. Mary Weiksner, 65, of 1 W. High St., Coaldale, died Sunday in her
home. She was the wife of Daniel Weiksner. They were married for 42
years. She and her husband operated the former Juggy's Bar and Grill,
Coaldale. Previously she was employed by the Davidson Furniture Store,
Mahanoy City.
Anna Olexa
Anna Olexa, 76,of 214 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, died Sunday in
her home. She worked for the former Lansford Sportswear before retiring
many years ago.
Mrs. Elizabeth Valuch Zlock
Mrs. Elizabeth Valuch Zlock, 96, of 276 Third St., Coaldale, died
Sunday in the Hometown Nursing Home. She was the widow of John Baluch
and Paul Zlock.
William F. Miller
William F. Miller, 65, of 38 Springgarden St., Lansford, died Sunday
in Reading General Hospital where he was taken after being stricken ill
while trapshooting in Leesport, Berks County. He was the husband of
Jesse M. (Morgans) Miller. Miller was retired from the Army National
Guard.
John C. Bittner
John C. Bittner, 65, of 141 Lauderburn Ave., Weatherly, died Thursday
in Weinberg House, Hazelton. He was the husband of Bertha J. (Curtis)
Bittner. He was a quality control inspector for Wagner Electric Plant,
Weatherly, for over 30 years before retiring.
Mrs. Mabel R. Bowers
Mrs. Mable R. Bowers, 85, of Luther Crest Retirement Community,
South Whitehall Township, died Sunday in the home. She was the widow of
Horace R. Bowers. She was an elementary teacher in the Allentown School
District for 25 years before retiring in 1958 from the Muhlenberg School.
John R. Silberman
John R. Silberman, 83, of Allentown died Saturday in his home. He
was the husband of the late Myrtle S. (Strawn) Silberman. He was a
custodian for the Allentown School District working at the Central School
for 12 years before retiring in 1977, and previously was a self-employed
plasterer.
Henry Kuzman
Henry Kuzman, 77, of 21 W. Lehigh St., Coaldale, died Saturday in
Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Stella (Fittos)
Kuzman. They observed their 56th wedding anniversary in May. He worked
for the former Quartite Lamp Factory, Nesquehoning, before retiring in
1981, and previously was a coal miner for Lehigh Coal and Navigation Co.
at its No. 9 Colliery in Lansford. Kuzman was an Army Air Corps veteran of
World War II.
Brittany McLaughlin
Brittany Lee McLaughlin, infant daughter of Jason McLaughlin and
Mary Beth Blake of 701 W. 24th St., Hazleton, died Saturday in Geisinger
Medical Center.
Bertha F. Quinton
Bertha F. Quinton, 89, of Cedarbrook, South Whitehall Township, died
Saturday in the home.
William Ballard
William Ballard, 69, of 322 Church Hill Road, Lehighton, died Friday
in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of
Katherine (Moravcik) Ballard. They observed their 45th wedding
anniversary last Nov. 11. He was general manager of Lehighton Lincoln-
Mercury for two years before retiring in 1978, and previously had owned
and operated the Rahway Typewriter Service, Rahway, N.J., from 1964 to
'74; and was a truck driver for the former Ballantine Brewery, Newark, N.J.
from 1947 to 1962. Ballard was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Dolores J. Brader
Dolores J. Brader, 65, of 1339 S. Ninth St., Allentown, died Saturday
in Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center II, Bethlehem. She was a
sewing machine operator for the former Leonard Manufacturing Co.,
Allentown for 27 years.
Mrs. Verna M. Kromer
Mrs. Verna M. Kromer, 94, formerly of Northampton, died Saturday in
Cedarbrook, South Whitehall Township. She was the widow of Earl T.
Kromer. She was a domestic worker in the Northampton area for many
years.
Ellsworth V. Widoner
Ellsworth V. Widoner, 85, of Bethlehem, died Thursday in the Blough
Nursing Home, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Helen (Schaffer) Wildoner
and the late Hildegarde (Flammer) Wildoner. He was a linesman for
Pennsylvania Power and Light Co., Allentown, before retiring in 1975.
Mrs. Marion K. Boyer
Mrs. Marion K. Boyer, 85, formerly of 43 Washington St., Topton, died
Thursday in the Henry Health Care Center of the Lutheran Home at Topton.
She was the widow of Ralph W. Boyer.
Michael R. Lukac
Michael R. Lukac, 69, of 29 W. Walter St., Summit Hill, died Sunday in
the Gnaden Huetten Nursing and Convalescent Center, Lehighton. He was a
self-employed scrap metal dealer in the Summit Hill area for many years
before retiring.
