Ernest L. Fricke
Ernest L. Fricke, 84, of Whitehall Township, died Thursday in his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Hartman) Fricke.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Henry and Willhamina (Kling) Fricke.
He worked for Mack Trucks, Allentown, for 42 years before retiring in 1970.
He is a member of the Presbyterian Church, Hokendauqua, where he was an usher for many years.
He was affiliated with Community Services of Mack Retirees, AFL-CIO No. 677.
He served with the National Guard during World War II, having played in the band.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Carole, wife of LaMar Steigerwalt of Lehighton; three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

Mabel L. McLaughlin
Mabel Louise McLaughlin, 85, of Brodheadsville, and formerly of Jersey City and Bloomfield, N.J., died Friday in Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home, Kunkletown. She was the widow of Martin I. McLaughlin, who died in January, 1994.
Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late John and Lena (Kellerman) Rorick.
She had lived in Jersey City 19 years, and Bloomfield for 20 years, before moving to Brodheadsville in 1980.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.
Surviving are two sons, Jerome McLaughlin of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Edward McLaughlin of McMichaels; a brother, Joseph Rorick of Levittown; a sister, Rose Miller of Scranton; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis P. Pastier
Louis P. Pastier, 66, of 397 Hemlock Drive, Lehighton R.1, died Friday in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. He was the son of the late Anton and Julia (Sabo) Pastier. He formerly resided in the Mountain Apartments in Little Gap.
Born in Palmerton, he worked as a drop forge for the Bethlehem Steel Corp.
Surviving are four sons, Robert A., Cary J. and Anthony P. Pastier, all of Palmerton, and Joseph Pastier of Oxford, Ma.; two daughters, Carolyn, wife of Gary Rehrig of Palmerton, and Roxanne, wife of James Mertz of Lehighton; three brothers, Anton Pastier of Kissimmee, Fl., John Pastier of Jersey City, N.J., and Paul Pastier of Whitehall; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Pastier.

John Lucykanish
John C. Lucykanish, 58, of 776 Hazard Road, Palmerton, died Friday in his home. He was the husband of Trudy D. (Rehrig) Lucykanish. They were married 33 years last June.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Daniel and Helen (Lillik) Lucykanish.
Prior to becoming disabled he was a Kiln Operator for Prince Manufacturing, Bowmanstown.
Surviving with his widow are four sons, Joh, Lehighton; Steven, Palmerton; David, Ashfield, and A2C Christ, stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Panama; one daughter, Cynthia, wife of Gerald Pereira, Palmerton; a sister, Anna, wife of Joseph Helms of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Elsie L. Serfass
Elsie L. Serfass, 86, of Walnut Mobile Park, Walnutport, died Thursday in the Mahoning Valley Convalescent Center, Lehighton. She was the widow of Francis A. Serfass.
Before her retirement she was a telephone operator for the Palmerton Telephone Co.
Born in Ashfield, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Ada (Ditterline) Rehrig.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton.
Surviving is a son, Richard B. of Palmerton; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Eck of Palmerton, and Miriam, wife of Paul Hontz, Souderton; a brother, Carl, of Delaware; two granddaughters and one step-grandchild.

Hazel M. Mantz Carter
Hazel M. (Gormley) Mantz Carter, 84, of 203 W. Holland St., Summit Hill, died Thursday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law Lyle and Maryann Mantz, 228 Ludlow St., Summit Hill. She was the wife of Bob C. Carter and the late Homer O. Mantz, who died in 1966.
Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late Robert M. and Ellen (Remaley) Gormley.
She was a member of St. Paul UCC, Summit Hill.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Lyle K. Mantz of Summit Hill, and Gary A. Mantz of Kutztown. Also six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her family.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore, Palmer and Chester.

Janice L. Hahn
Janice L. Hahn, 58, of 639 Iron St., Lehighton, died Friday in the Hospice Unit of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of George A.Hahn. They were married 39 years in June.
Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late Karl and Blanche (Freyman) Kasten.
She was the secretary/treasurer for many years at Hahn & Sons Inc., Dodge Dealership, Lehighton.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton; the Lutheran Church Women. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was a life member of the National Antique Auto Club of America as well as a member of the Ontelaunee Region Auto Club.
Surviving with her husband is a son, Shawn, wife of Eugene Bowers of Lehighton; two daughters, Jayne, wife of Gregory Bayer of Allentown, and Lisa, wife of Neil Saloman of Lehighton; seven brothers, Merritt of Deland, Fl., John of Baltimore, Md., Wayne of Orefield, Roy of Jim Thorpe, Thomas of Allentown, Morris of Coatesville, and Allen of Gettysburg; four sisters, Isabel Rohlfing of Mount airy, Md., Melinda Stehly of Allentown, Mary, wife of Joseph Bretz of Dobson, N.C., and Jane Horn, a twin-sister of Mahoning Township. Also four grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a brother Karl and by a daughter at birth.
