Bernard P. Miller
Bernard P. Miller, 67, of 818 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe, died Monday
morning in the emergency room of Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital,
Lehighton. He was the husband of Pearl "Mary" (Diehm) Miller. They
observed their 46th wedding anniversary on Feb. 18. He and his wife owned
and operated the former Bernice Ann Fashions on Broadway in Jim Thorpe
for 27 years before retiring in 1986. He later worked as a consultant for
other garment factories in the area. Prior to going into business he worked
for various garment factories in Jim Thorpe. Combined, he worked 47
years in the local garment industry.
Elem Bontrager
Elem "Bonny" Bontrager, 91, of Rest Haven, Schuylkill Haven,
formerly of Tamaqua, died Monday in Good Samaritan Regional Medical
Center, Pottsville. Prior to retiring he owned and operated Bonny's Tire
Service, Tamaqua.
Dominic Damore
Dominic "Buppy" Damore, 73, of 2311 29th St. S.W., Allentown, died
Sunday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of
Edith (Rizzetto) Damore. He was self-employed in the auto body business
before retiring. Damore was an Army veteran of World War II.
Raymond H. Santee
Raymond H. Santee, 64, of 1010 Cherry Tree Crossing, Breinigsville,
died Saturday in Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center. He was a laborer
in the construction industry.
Maryanne Trayah
Maryanne T. Trayah, 51, of 104 Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, died Monday
in Miners Memorial Medical Center. She was employed by Harbor
Electronics, Hazleton.
Mrs. Carl E. Montgomery
Mrs. Carl E. Montgomery, 82, of 6A Pearl Ave., Doraville, Ga.,
formerly of Cedarview Apartments, Allentown, died Monday in Northside
Hospital, Atlanta, Ga. She was the wife of Carl E. Montgomery. They
observed their 63rd wedding anniversary last December. She was a sewing
machine operator for the former Vogue Shop, Allentown, for 20 years
before retiring.

Ora A. Nothstein, 112 S. Ninth Street, Lehighton, died this morning in
Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of John H.
Nothstein, who died June 28.
Mrs. Janet J. Miller
Mrs. Janet J. Miller, 93, of New Ringgold R.2, formerly of Clyde Bank,
Scotland, died Tuesday morning in the Orwigsburg Manor Nursing Home,
Orwigsburg. She was the widow of Donald C. Miller, who died in 1967.
Jacob W. Rimbach
Jacob W. Rimbach, 80, of 253 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua, died Tuesday in
Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. He was the husband of Ruth E.
(Oakes) Rimbach. They observed their 49th wedding anniversary on May 30.
Prior to retiring he was a patrolman for the Tamaqua Police Department
for 28 years. He was also employed as a crossing guard for St. Jerome
Elementary School, Tamaqua.
Joan C. Toth
Joan C. Toth, 69, of 310 Market St., Tamaqua, died Tuesday in St.
Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. She was a seamstress before retiring.
Mrs. Ralph Shellhamer
Mrs. Ferne V. (Arner) Shellhamer, 79, of 583 Municipal Road, East
Penn Township, Lehighton, died Wednesday morning in her home. She was
the wife of Ralph Shellhamer.
Isabelle McAuliffe
Isabelle McAuliffe, 96, a resident of Hometown Nursing Center,
Tamaqua R.2 died Tuesday in the nursing home.
Alice R. Lutz
Alice R. Lutz, 86, of 4532 Route 309, Schnecksville, died Tuesday in
Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She was an elementary teacher in the
Parkland School District for 35 years before retiring in 1964.
Mrs. John P. Claypoole
Mrs. Helen M. Claypoole, 73, of 227 Shock Road, Lenhartsville, died
Tuesday in her home. She was the wife of John P. Claypoole. She worked
for the Pennsylvania State Unemployment Department, Allentown office,
from 1981 until retiring last year. Prior to that she was a teller and an
assistant manager of the former American Bank and Trust, Alburtis
branch, working from 1968-'79.
