Mrs. Susan A. Squire
Mrs. Susan A. Squire, 95, of Towamensing Township, Kunkletown, died Tuesday in the Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort. She was the widow of William B. Squires, who died in 1966.
Born in Franklin, Pa., she was a daughter of the late George R.E. and Edith (Griffith) Dawson.
She was of the Episcopalian faith.
Mrs. Squire was a member of the Women's Republican Club and the Order of Eastern Star, both of Hackensack, N.J.; and was a past president of the Women's Guild at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, Harrington Park, N.J. She was a former county GOP committee women in Harrington Park.
Surviving are a son, William H.B. of Bergenfield, N.J.; a daughter, Marion Corcoran, with whom she resided; a sister, Edith Stockman of Harrington Park; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. George J. Saunders
Mrs. M. Bette Saunders, 67, of 1035 Municipal Drive, Walnutport, died Sunday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. She was the wife of George J. Saunders.
She was a secretary for Saunders Associates, Palmerton.
Born in Edwardsville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Richard D. and Mary (James) Jones, and a stepdaughter of the late Geraldine (Case) Jones.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Nanticoke.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, George J. III of Allentown and Richard A. and Donald D., both of Walnutport; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was the last member of her immediate family.

A memorial Mass for Thomas P. "Buck" Maurer, 62, formerly of Nesquehoing, who died Dec. 29 in Weatherwood, Weatherly, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 526 North St., Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. John A. Hilferty officiating.
The Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe, is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Sarah Davidson
Mrs. Sarah Davidson, 89, formerly of East Front Street, Lansford, died Dec. 31 in the Harrison Memorial Hospital, Bremerton, Wash. She was the widow of George Davidson, who died in 1985.
Prior to retiring, she was employed by Jonathan Logan.
Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late James Clark and Bertha (Gangaware) Ross.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, and the Auxiliary of the Railroad Trainmen, and previously belonged to the Panther Valley Golden Agers.
Surviving are a son Robert of Bremerton; a brother Emanuel of Newport, N.C.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ellamae Derzock; a sister, Ella Snyder; and a brother David.
Charles A. Hildenbrandt
Charles A. Hildenbrandt, 73, of 57 Hickory Hills Drive, Bath, Moore Township, died Thursday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Dorothy L. (Beahm) Hildenbrandt. They observed their 33rd wedding anniversary last May.
He ws a truck driver for Chemical Lehman Tank Lines, Inc., Nazareth, for 25 years before retiring in 1985, and was a recipient of the Hi-Miller Safe Drivers Club.
Born in Bushkill Township, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Minnie (Rissmiller) Hildenbrandt.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 429, Health and Welfare Fund, and the Harold V. Knecht American Legion Post 415 and the V.F.W. Post 4366, both of Nazareth.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three sons, Charles A. Hildebrandt of Bath, Stanley Parenti of Breinigsville and Eugene Parenti of Easton; a sister, Dorothy H. of Bath; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Thomas Pasquariello
Thomas Pasquariello, 68, of 355 S. Hokendauqua Drive, Northampton, died Friday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Doris (Sousa) Pasquariello. They observed their 45th wedding anniversary in October.
He was the owner and operator of Pasquariello Auto Shop, Northampton, for 28 years before retiring in 1990.
Born in Hudson, N.Y., he was a son of the late John and Filomina (DeLucia) Pasquariello.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bath.
An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of American Legion Post 215, Catasauqua.
The deceased also belonged to the Slatington Moose Lodge; the Petersville Rod and Gun Club; Raccoon Club of Northampton; and the Klecknersville Volunteer Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his widow are four sons, John of Whitehall Township, Thomas of Palmerton, James of Allentown and Marion of Northampton; two daughters, Phyllis, wife of Gary Lerch of Northampton, and Lorene Hahn of Catasauqua; four brothers, Carmen of Caserra, Italy, Anthony and Umberto, both of Northampton, and Maior of Whitehall; a sister, Maria Kutz of Whitehall; and 10 grandchildren.
Olive Kromer
Olive Kromer, 87, formerly of Lehigh Township, died Wednesday in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township.
She was a sewing machine operator for Scotty's Fashions, Palmerton.
Born in Lehigh Township, she was a daughter of the late Tilghman and Katie (Young) Kromer.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Louis S. Hirsch
Louis S. Hirsch, 87, of Effort, died Friday in his home. He was the husband of the late Anna (Veszpremi) Hirsch.
He was a self-employed carpenter, remodeling homes in the Bethlehem, Easton and Poconos areas since 1954. Previously, he owned and operated Hirsch's Hotel, Bethlehem. During World War II, had worked at the Lehigh Foundry, and prior to that had been employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
Born in Sokoro Packo, Hungary, he was a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Marics) Hirsch.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Lou Ann Schlegel of Effort and Elizabeth Behler of Kunkletown; a son, Louis Jr. of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a sister, Helen Stephan of Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Jack L. Rinehart
Jack L. Rinehart, 73, of 520 E. 12th St., Northampton, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of the late Maxine E. (Shawl) Rinehart.
A life member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 773, he was a route driver for Allen Laundry, Allentown, for 20 years before retiring in 1988.
Born in Crooksville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Delice (Anderson) Rinehart.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Rinehart was a sergeant in the Army during World War II and also belonged to American Legion Post 222 in Ohio and the Alliance Fire Company, Northampton.
Surviving are two sons, William L. of Hereford and Jack L.M. of Northampton; two daughters, Barbara L., wife of Frank Gangemi of Northampton, and Deborah L., wife of Walter Trybulski of Germansville; a brother Samuel of Mansfield, Ohio; a sister Nadine, wife of William Harper of White Cottage, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Raymond E. DeLong
Raymond E. DeLong, 67, of 550 Main St., Slatington, died Saturday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Betty jean (Heffelfinger) DeLong.
He was a veneer finisher for the Bethlehem Furniture Company, Allentown, for 6-1/2 years before retiring in 1991.
Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Harry and Mary (Sagar) DeLong.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey of Seneca Falls, N.Y., and Robert of Burgaw, N.C.; two daughters, Cindy, wife of Clinton Scott, and Sherie, both of Allentown; four brothers, Robert of Breinigsville, Ernest of Hamburg, James of Bath and Kurt of Nazareth; three sisters, Miriam Werner of Slatington, Doris, wife of Joseph Compton of Bethlehem, and Olive, wife of Herb Wolfinger of Blandon; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Edna M. Williams
Mra. Edna M. Williams, 81, of B'nai B'rith Apartments, Allentown, formerly of 956 Hamilton St., Allentown, died Friday in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of George L. Williams.
She was retired from the former Finance America, Allentown, and previously had been employed by the former Lehigh Valley Auto Club, Allentown.
Born in West Penn Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Catharine (Schupp) Miller.
She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.
Surviving are two sons, Burdell Reinhart of Lehighton and Ronald Reinhart of Stroudsburg; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle I. Frey of Lehighton; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Reinhart.
Frank J. Salvador
Frank J. Salvador, 85, of 232 N. Lehigh St., Tamaqua, formerly of Summit Hill and Coaldale, died Saturday in the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. He was the husband of Antoinette E. "Toni" (Geusic) Salvador.
He was a foreman for the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company at the No. 8 Coliery, Coaldale, before retiring.
Born in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Emil and Rose (Piccin) Salvador.
He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
Salvador was a member and past president of the Lansford Italian Club.
An avid golfer, he scored four holes-in-one during his golfing career.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter Jean, wife of Bruce Behr of Tamaqua; a son, Frank E. of Bricktown, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. Emma Korsak of Trenton, N.J.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this morning from the Jon M. Zizelmann Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the church and interment
in the parish Cemetery , Tamaqua. Contributions in his name may be made to the church, 18252.
Alma J. Callahan
Alma J. "A.J." Callahan, 56, of 70 Poco Circle, Towamensing Township, died Saturday in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem.
She was a customer service representative for United Parcel Service, Allentown, for 16 years before retiring in 1992.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Albert and Marie (Feidler) Martin.
Surviving are four sons, Richard J. of Columbia, S.C., and Chip, Bryan G. and John B., all of Bethlehem; a daughter, Allison Krokus of Bethlehem; a companion, Edward J. Thomann, with whom she resided; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Margaret A. Grim
Mrs. Margaret A. Grim, 84, formerly of 210 Main St., Slatington, died Friday in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Annette M. and Bryon H. Farber of 345 Williams St., Slatington, with whom she resided.
The deceased was the widow of Lawrence O. Grim, who died last month.
She was secretary emeritus of St. John United Church of Christ, Slatington, where she worked for 30 years. Previously, she was a secretary for the former Bright's department store, Lehighton, P.P. & L., Allentown, and the former Pasbit Silk Mill, Slatington.
Born in Slatington, she was a daughter of the late Ario L. and Flossie H.M. (Evans) DePuy.
She was a member of St. John Church, where she sang in the choir, and was also a member of the Slatington Heritage Choir.
Surviving in addition to her daughter are another daughter, Natalie K., wife of Robert P. Raykos of Bethlehem; a sister, Arlene D., wife of Malcolm G. Merkel of Slatington; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Donald C. Caskie Sr.
Donald C. Caskie Sr., 72, of Williamsburg, Va., died Friday in the Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Va. He was the husband of Jean M. (Sterner) Caskie. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in November.
He was a transportation executive for Grand Union grocery stores, Wayne, N.J., before retiring in 1991.
Born in Slatington, he was a son of the late Cassel Q. and Remola (Wentz) Caskie.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Toano, Va.
Caskie was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Corinthian Lodge No. 542, Greensboro, N.C.
Surviving in addition to his widow are four sons, Bruce D. of Reedsville, N.C., Joseph J. of Hampton, Va., Donald C. Jr. of Hershey, Mich., and Michael O. of Toano; a brother, Cassel Q. Jr. of Whitehall Township; a sister Nancy, wife of Richard Bachman of Bredenton, Fla.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Stianche survivor
Among the survivors of Stephen P. "Gummy" Stianche, 86, of Hauto, Nesquehoning R.1, who died Friday morning in the Hazleton-St. Joseph medical Center, is a daughter Marian, wife of Michael Gerber of Jim Thorpe.
Archie A. Edmonds
Archie A. Edmonds, 85, of Tamaqua R.3, died Sunday in his home. He was the husband of the late Evelyn G. (Steigerwalt) Edmonds, who died last May.
He was an independent milk distributor for the Dairylee Milk Company, Hazleton, from 1926 until retiring in 1974.
Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Greasing) Edmonds.
He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Zion's Union Stone Church, New Ringgold R.2.
Edmonds was a member and former treasurer of the West Penn Sporting Club, Tamaqua R.3, and a member of the South Ward Fire Company, Tamaqua.
In the 1930s and 1940s, he was a pitcher for the former South Ward Sluggers, a semi-professional baseball team in Tamaqua.
Surviving are two daughters, Thelma N., wife of Peter Feretti of Union, N.J., and Sandra L., wife of Larry Boyer of Macungie; a brother John of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandsons and a great-grandson.

Mrs. Anna C. Benninger
Mrs. Anna C. Benninger of 5 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, died Sunday in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was the widow of Charles Benninger.
She worked for clothing factories in the Summit Hill area before retiring.
Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Magdalene (Dylong) Cebulewski.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Summit Hill, and the Polish National Alliance.
Surviving are a brother Stan of Hillside, N.J.; four sisters, Mary Evans of Summit Hill, Rose Cooper of Maplewood, N.J., Theresa Pappas of North Hollywood, Calif., and Josephine, wife of William Smith of New Cumberland, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Frank and Joseph.

Mrs. Mary Louise B. Follweiler, 58, of 5417 Deibert Lane, Schnecksville, died Sunday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Larry P. Follweiler. They observed their 29th wedding anniversary in September.
Born in North Whitehall Township, she was a daughter of Mrs. Mildred M. (Werley) Schaeffer of Slatington and the late LeRoy A. Schaeffer.
The deceased was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, where he belonged to the Helping Hands.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are three sons, Barry L. Follweiler of Whitehall Township, Randy L. Tacker of Slatington and Shane L. Follweiler of Kuhnsville; two brothers, LeRoy J. of Walnutport and Ronald D. of Mason, N.H.; a sister, Linda L., wife of Donald Wentz of Palmerton; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Michael Baran
Mrs. Dwilla J. Baran, 158 Berwick St., Beaver Meadows, died Saturday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Michael A. Baran
She was formerly employed by Deisroth's Department Store, Hazleton.
Born in Junedale, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Harry P. and Dwilla (Beacroft) Davis.
She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Beaver Meadows, where she was a volunteer for the women's group.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Donald M. of Beaver Meadows and Dr. Robert W. of Freeland; two daughters, Linda D. Sotack of Atlanta, Ga., and Arlene J. Vito of Allentown; two sisters, Audrey Baran of Weatherly and Winifred Fellin of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Anna M. Blew
Anna M. Blew, 91, of 1000 Strawbridge Road, Northumberland, died at Nottingham Village at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4. She had been living at Nottingham Village since March 1993.
She was born in Mahanoy City, July 16, 1905, a daughter of William Quick and Ella M. Snyder Quick. She was a farmer's wife in New Ringgold most of her life.
Her husband, Paul E. Blew, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister, Lillian Everhart of Tamaqua, a daughter, Charolette A. Moyer of New Ringgold, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were made by David T. Zweier Funeral Home at 157 Chestnut St. in Sunbury.
