Mrs. Isabel McAuliffe
Mrs. Isabel McAuliffe, 96, a resident of Hometown Nursing Center,
Tamaqua R.2, died Tuesday in the nursing center. She was the widow of
Walter McAuliffe who died in 1972. Prior to retiring in 1960, she was
employed in the garment industry in New York City.
Rose J. Raponi
Rose J. Raponi, 79, of 226 N. Market St., Summit Hill, died Wednesday
in Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale.
Mrs. Ralph A. Shellhamer
Mrs. Ferne V. Shellhamer, 79, of 583 Municipal Road, East Penn
Township, Lehighton, died Wednesday in her home. She was the wife of
Ralph A. Shellhamer. They observed their 55th wedding anniversary in
April.
Maude Brobst
Maude Brobst, formerly of Ginthers, died this morning in Hometown
Nursing Home. She was the widow of Charles Brobst.
Gerard C. Kloss
Gerard C. Kloss, 78, of Allentown died Wednesday in his home. He
was the husband of Mary A. (Mulherin) Kloss. They observed their 56th
wedding anniversary last month. He was the founder and owner of Kloss
Manufacturing Co. Inc., Allentown, since 1941. The company began as a
manufacturer of concentrated flavors, sundae toppings, and syrups, for
which he developed half-gallon, plastic-coated paper cartons. It expanded
over the years to include sales concession equipment, including popcorn
poppers and machines for making cotton candy, sno cones, funnel cakes,
and other snacks.
Mrs. Ora A. Nothstein
Mrs. Ora A. Nothstein, 84, of 112 S. Ninth St., Lehighton, died
Wednesday in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the
widow of John Henri Nothstein, who died in June. She was a knitter and
presser from Scotty's Fashions in Lehighton.
Mrs. Janet J. Miller
Mrs. Janet J. Miller, 93, of New Ringgold R.2, formerly of Ocean
Grove, N.J., and Clydebank, Scotland, died Tuesday morning in Orwigsburg
Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg, where she had been a guest since April
1993. She was the wife of Donald C. Miller who died in 1967.

Frank J. Sarnicke
Frank J. Sarnicke, 75, of Whitehall Township, died Thursday in the
Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Florence A.
(Bogucki) Sarnicke. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary last
October. He was a bus driver and maintenance man for the Whitehall-
Coplay School District for 26 years before retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Thomas M. Miller
Mrs. Mary J. Miller, 88, formerly of 178 Main St., Parryville, died
Thursday in the Hershey Medical Center Hershey. She was the wife of
Thomas M. Miller of 272 Main St., Conyngham, Luzerne County. They would
have observed their 69th wedding anniversary this month.
Mrs. Dominic Colancecco
Mrs. Anna Colancecco, 77, of 218 W. Water St., Lansford, died
Thursday evening in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. She was
the wife of Dominic Colancecco. Prior to retiring, she worked for the
former Jonathan Logan Dress Factory, Lansford.
Mrs. Maude I. Brobst
Mrs. Maude I. Brobst, 88, of Still Creek, Tamaqua R.4, died Thursday
in the Hometown Nursing and Convalescent Center, Hometown. She was the
widow of Charles J. Brobst.
Toth services
Graveside services for Mrs. John C. (Rogich) Toth, 69, of 310 Market
St., Tamaqua, who died on Tuesday, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the
St. Michael Parish Cemetery , Summit Hill.
Robert R. Folk
Robert R. Folk, 64, of 109 E. Ruddle St., Coaldale, died Thursday in
the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale. He was the husband of the
late Thelma (Keich) Folk, who died in May, 1995. Prior to retiring, he had
been employed by the J. E. Morgan Knitting Mill, Hometown.
Clarence P. Knittle
Clarence P. Knittle, 72, of 306 Mauchnor Road, Lehighton, died
Wednesday in the Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth A.
(Bonser) Bauer Knittle. They observed their 45th wedding anniversary in
May. He was a laboroer for the former Trojan Powder Company, now INC
Chemical Group, Inc., South Whitehall Township, for many years before
retiring.
Edward J. Jenkins
Edward J. Jenkins, 79, of 1223 Washington St., Whitehall Township,
died Wednesday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was
the husband of Anna D. 'Jane' (Coller) Jenkins. They observed their 47th
wedding anniversary in July. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal
Service for 41 years, delivering in the Shenandoah area, before retiring in
1977.
William H. Whitehead
William H. Whitehead, 86, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of New
Ringgold, died Saturday, Sept. 7, in his home. He was the husband of the
late Frances (Melton) Whitehead. They were married 60 years until her
death earlier this year. He was an industrial engineer for the Dana
Corporation in Pottstown for 30 years until retiring.
