Mrs. Cora Husack
Mrs. Cora Husack, 83, of the Phoebe Home, Allentown, formerly of Slatington, died Monday in the home. She was the widow of Tony Husack.
Born in Washington Township, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Eva (Roth) Schleicher.
She was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Slatedale.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peter Herbener Jr.
Mrs. Dorothy Mae Herbener, 69, of White Haven R.1, Luzerne County, died Sunday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Peter Herbener Jr.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Joyce Hittinger of Bethlehem and Barbara of Perkiomenville; and a brother, Daniel Ackers of Effort.
Earl W. Mertz
Earl W. Mertz, 77, of Allentown, died Sunday in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Arlene (Ruch) Mertz.
He was a truck driver for the Allentown News Agency for 25 years before retiring in 1992.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Louis and Carrie (Eroh) Mertz.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the Church Men's Bowling League at the Rose Ball, Allentown.
Surviving in addition to his widow are five sons, Glenn, Barry, Keith and Terry, all of Allentown, and Wayne in New York; three daughters, Louise, wife of William Diehl of Slatington, Brenda, wife of David Kuncio of Macungie, and Gail of Bethlehem; three sisters, Emma Walters and Arlene Walters, both of Bethlehem, and Althea, wife of Richard King of Allentown; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Betty J. Mayer
Mrs. Betty J. Mayer, 65, died Sunday at 344 Sand Quarry Road, Ashfield, the home she shared with her granddaughter, Elizabeth Mayer.
The deceased was the widow of Kenneth Mayer.
She was a sewing machine operator for Halsen's Products, Slatington, before retiring.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Miles and Lillian (Lichtenwalter) Bauer.
Surviving in addition to her granddaughter are a daughter, Sharon R., wife of Philip Staudt of Salt Lake City, Utah; three brothers, Clarence of Sassamansville, Clarence of Northampton and Warren of Palmerton; five sisters, Mary Schmick of Summit Hill, Pauline, wife of Raymond Bell of Catasauqua, Carrie Beers of Slatington, Sadie Hunsicker of Lehighton and Kathleen, wife of Wilbur Schlier of Allentown; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services for Elizabeth McCann, 93, of 8 W. Phillips St., Coaldale, who died Monday in the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale, will be held at 9:40 a.m. Friday from the Roche Funeral Home-McNamara Chapel, 3 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Coaldale, and interment
in the Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Relatives and friends can call from 9-9:40 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Neal E. Yost
Neal Eckert Yost, 77, of Elm Street, Park Crest, Barnesville, formerly of Nescopeck Street, Tamaqua, died Monday in the Pottsville Hospital.
Prior to retiring, he worked in the office and was a salesman for Remaly Manufacturing, Tamaqua.
Born in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Jennie (Belle) Yost.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a son David of Lisle, Ill.; a brother Troy of Hometown; and a grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond, Harold, Ralph, Wilbert and William.
The Lamar Christ Funeral Home, Hometown, is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. William Tizekker
Mrs. Stella Tizekker, 67, of 1090 Emerald Court, Hazleton, formerly of Langhorne, Bucks County, died Monday afternoon in the Hazleton General Hospital. She was the wife of William Tizekker. They were married for 28 years.
Born in McAdoo, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Podolack) Kurtz.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, McAdoo.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four brothers, Paul of Tresckow, Samuel of McAdoo, Peter of West Hazleton and Michael of Quakake; four sisters, Mrs. James (Louise) Russo of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Stephen (Julia) Toth of Allentown, Mrs. Angelo (Helen) Cortez of Hazleton and Mrs. Raymond (Nada) Kapes of Cranberry; and nieces and nephews.
Deininger addition
Mrs. Ruth Deininger, 71, of 621 Arlington St., Tamaqua, who died on Sunday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, was preceded in death by a brother, James Reed.
She is also survived by a daughter, Jeanne Deininger of Dania, Fla.
Margaret Olsefsky
Mrs. Margaret Olsefsky 68, of 503 E. Patterson St., Lansford, died Monday in St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. She was the widow of Chester Olsefsky.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was daughter of the late John and Sadie (Kern) Bonner.
She was a member of St. Ann Church, Lansford.
She is survived by three daughters, Margaret, wife of Stanley Bankus of South Lyon, Mich.; Ann, wife of William McDonald of Bear Creek; and Jane Bamford of Lansford; one brother, Elom Bonner of Coaldale. Also four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Chester J., Jr.
