Dolores F. Slivka
Dolores F. Slivka, 52, of 516 W. Spruce St., Mahanoy City, died Saturday afternoon in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of Harold Nothstein of Jim Thorpe and the late Gladys (Whiteman) Snyder Nothstein, and a stepdaughter of Shirley Nothstein of Jim Thorpe.
The deceased was a 1962 graduate of Lehighton High School and lived most of her life in Lehighton, moving to Mahanoy City in 1987.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Mahanoy City.
Surviving in addition to her father and stepmother are a daughter Melinda, wife of Edward "Ted" Kadel of Gilberton; three brothers, Robert and Curtis Snyder, both of Lehighton, and Gerald Snyder of Jim Thorpe; a half-brother, Harold Nothstein of Lehighton; a half-sister, Cheryl Lloyd of Manheim; a stepsister, Sherry Waselus of Jim Thorpe; and several nieces and nephews.
The David D. Jarrett Funeral Home, Mahanoy City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Matilda M. Oban
Mrs. Matilda M. Oban, 80, formerly of 662 E. Macada Road, Bethlehem, died Tuesday in the Blough Nursing Home, Bethlehem. She was the widow of Louis J. Oban, who died in 1993.
Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Mary (Fabian) Shigo.
She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Mrs. P. "Coco" Barron
Mrs. P. "Coco" Barron, 80, of the Easton Nursing Center, died Tuesday in the center. She was the widow of Channing Barron.
She was a sales clerk for the former Grollman's clothing store, Easton.
Born in Jim Thorpe, she was a daughter of the late James and Olivia (Frey) Whildin.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Easton.
Surviving are a niece and nephews.
Robert A. Morgan
Robert A. Morgan, 61, of Breinigsville, died Monday in his home. He was the husband of Mary Anne (Milewski) Morgan. They observed their 37th wedding anniversary in April.
He was a printing press operator for Bradford Packaging, Salisbury Township, for 12 years before becoming ill.
Born in Paterson, N.J., he was a son of the late George and Winifred (Reigotti) Morgan.
He was a member of the Howard L. Peter American Legion Post 576, Allentown.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, Michael of Vernon, Vt., and James, at home; a daughter Monica, wife of Allen Jaeger of Danielsville; a brother Richard of Mystic Island, N.J.; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Stephanie H. Busch
Mrs. Stephanie H. Busch, 82, of 9 E. Walter St., Summit Hill, died Tuesday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton. She was the widow of Herbert Busch.
Born in Hecklersville, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kielbasa) Damasiewicz.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Summit Hill.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Al and Joseph, and a sister, Ann Heffner.
Surviving are a sister Cecelia and a nephew, Leonard Heffner, both with whom she resided.
The Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill, is in charge of the arrangements.
Wendell R. Phillips
Wendell R. Phillips, 90, formerly of Easton, died Monday in the Moravian Hall Square Health Care Center, Nazareth. He was the husband of the late Blanche (Mills) Phillips.
He worked in the railway division of the U.S. Postal Service for more than 37 years before being transferred to the Easton Post Office after the termination of train service. He retired from Easton in 1969. For a time, he worked at the Lehigh Valley Post Office.
Born in Columbia, N.J., he was a son of the late John W. and Mary (Michaels) Phillips.
He was a member of Palmer Moravian Church, Palmer Township.
A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 165, Blairstown, N.J., and the Lehigh Consistory, Allentown.
He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving are two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Warner.
The Kresge Funeral Home, Rt. 209, Brodheadsville, is in charge of the arrangements.
Harlan G. Stein
Harlan G. Stein, 54, of Hokendauqua, died Monday. He was the husband of Margaret B. (DeWalt) Stein.
He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Whitehall Township for 30 years.
Born in Whitehall, he was a son of Mrs. Eva (Frey) Stein of Coplay and the late George Stein.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Northampton.
An Army veteran, he belonged to American Legion Post 739, Hokendauqua.
Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are a son Phillip of Fountain Hill; a brother, Vernon C. of Whitehall; and two sisters, Mary Ann, wife of Howard J. Barrall Jr. of Danielsville, and Kathleen K. of Coplay.
Silliman survivor
Among the survivors of Mrs. Louella V.M. Silliman, 71, of 910 E. Lizard Creek Road, Lehighton, who died Monday in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem, is a son Jeffrey of Lehighton, whose residence was incorrectly listed in yesterday's obituary.
Mrs. Warren F. Faust
Mrs. Marion H. Faust, 75, of 211 Fourth St., Weatherly, died Monday morning in the Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of Warren F. Faust. The were married for 51 years.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Annetta (Price) Williams Henkel.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Weatherly, and formerly served as secretary at the Duplan Silk Mill, Hazleton, and the Jeddo Highland Coal Company.
Surviving in addition to her husband was a son, Warren W. of Puyallup, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Millard (Mildred) Hensel of Telford; a grandson, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Lynn, who died in 1952; and a grandson.
Bernard Hamershock
Bernard Hamershock, of 405 Collins Road, Lake Hartwell, Lovinia, Ga., formerly of Weatherly R.2, died Feb. 13 in the Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens, Ga. He was the husband of Delphine (Buss) Hamershock.
He retired in 1989 after working at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant near Harrisburg.
Born in Weatherly, he was a son of the late Michael and Kathryn (Wychek) Hamershock.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Surviving are a son Michael of Palmyra; a daughter Amy, wife of Todd Mountain of Palmyra; two brothers, Kenneth of Orangevale, Calif., and Richard of Weatherly; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Pearl) Stadnik of Aptos, Calif.; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
