John H. Williams, 71, of Upper Allen Twp., Mechanicsburg, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired Assistant Sales Manager for the former AMP, Inc.; a Marine Corps Korean War Veteran; a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg; Washington Band, Annville; Greenwood Community Band, Millerstown; Indiana Municipal Band, Indiana, PA; Elks Lodge no. 578, Carlisle, B.P.O.E; American Legion Post 364, Liverpool; Lowther Manor Lodge no. 781, F.&A.M., Camp Hill; Zembo Shrine and its Past Presidents Assn. and R.V. Unit, Harrisburg; Perry-Juniata Shrine Club; Zembo Shrine Legion of Honor Past Commander; life member of Cumberland Co. Shrine Club; Aide to thirteen different Potentates; Past President of the Mid Atlantic Shrine Band Assn., Zembo Shrine Concert Band, Cumberland County Shrine Club, Zembo Shrine Uniformed Unit, New Cumberland Jaycees and was its “Outstanding Young Man of 1969”; former assistant Scout Master for Troop no. 43, B.S.A.
Mr. Williams was born May 29, 1936, in Pine Twp., Indiana County, the son of the late Haden and Beulah (Barbour) Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John H. Williams and his brother, Dock Williams and his sister, Janice Williams.
Surviving are his wife, Shirl (Patrick) Williams; a brother, Tim Williams (Dar) of Strongstown; two sisters, Joan Gelormino (Mike) of Patton and Brenda Denzer (Karl) of Belsano; three sisters in law, Dock’s wife, Jean Williams of Newark, DE, and Shirl’s sisters, Charlotte Brame (John) of New Cumberland and Dixie Geistwite (John) of Linglestown; a brother in law, Rick Patrick (Faye) of Mechanicsburg; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 5000 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, PA, with the Rev. Norman A. Evans, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Viewing will be held 2:30 – 4:30 PM Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

James C. "Jimmy" Talbert, Jr.

James C. “Jimmy” Talbert, Jr., 16 of Shermans Dale, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 as a result of an ATV accident in the Tuscarora Park. He was wearing a helmet.
Jimmy was a freshman at West Perry High School. He enjoyed MySpace, Xbox, sports, animals, and crabbing and fishing with his family in Southern Maryland. He was an honor roll student.
He is survived by his father, James C. Talbert of Etters; mother, Marian A. Reber and her husbasnd Kenneth M. of Shermans Dale; maternal grandmother, Elvina M. Jones of New Cumberland; sister, Stacy M. Talbert of Etters; nephews and nieces, Lyndy, Luke, Andrew, and Reagan; and many other family and friends.
Viewing will be from 6 to 9pm Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberry Twp.

William P. Rife

William P. Rife, 76, of Lemoyne, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired employee of P.S.E.A., Harrisburg, and Rite Aid Corporation, Camp Hill, and a former employee of Sears, Harrisburg; a member of Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill, and formerly coached baseball at all age levels in Lemoyne Borough.
Mr. Rife was born July 12, 1931, in Highspire, the son of the late Paul H. and Verna V. (Beers) Rife.
Surviving are his wife, JoAnn (Wertz) Rife; a son, Gary L. Rife (Christine) of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Cathy J. Lauver (Terry L.) of Daleville, VA; a sister, Charlotte Abel of York; three grandchildren, Amanda Rife, Travis Lauver and Kevin Rife.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill, with Pastor Ron Smith officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday.

Robert Howard Tobias

Robert Howard Tobias, 80, of Harrisburg died Friday, May 16th 2008 at Colonial Park Care Center.
A Navy Veteran of WWII, he was a retired Head Teller from North Denver Bank, Denver, CO. He was a member of Progress Emanuel Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg and former member of First Presbyterian of Altoona. He helped establish Miracle Lodge No. 21, F & AM, Denver, CO and was active in establishing the Thornton Presbyterian Church in Denver.
He was born November 25, 1927 in Altoona to the late J. Howard and Edna Grazier Tobias. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Manley) Tobias; two sons, R. Douglas and his wife Sandi of New Cumberland and Stephen M. and his wife Terri of Lower Paxton Twp; grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife Nikki, Joshua and his wife Angie, Jason and a step-granddaughter, Yvonne Smith.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Private burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Edward E. Baker, 61, of Lower Allen Twp., died Sunday, May 18, 2008, in Carlisle.
He was a retired production specialist for Harland Printing, Harrisburg, and enjoyed golf and other various sports.
Surviving are a son, Todd E. Baker of North Glenn, CO; a grandson, Dillan Baker; four brothers, Howard of Blossburg, Leland of Williamsport, John of Deyersburg, TN, and Roy of Blossburg.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.

William S. Heicher, 86, of Bethany Village, Lower Allen Twp., died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was a retired machinist and planner for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Steelton, with over 42 years service; a WWII Army veteran having fought in the Battle of the Bulge; a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church; a 33rd Degree Mason and an honorary member of the Supreme Council; a member and Past Worshipful Master of Prince Edwin Lodge No. 486, F. & A. M., Middletown, he had been active in Free Masonry since the age of 21; he served as regional instructor for the Grand Lodge F&AM of Pennsylvania for 17years; a member of Harrisburg Consistory Scottish Rite; Capital Area Scottish Rite Club; and the Blue Bird Society of Pennsylvania. Mr. Heicher was born December 18, 1921, in East Hanover Twp., Lebanon County, the son of the late Austin F. and Llela (Schwenk) Heicher.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Frances (Kerlin) Heicher; a son, David W. Heicher (Jeanne K.) of Newport; a daughter, Susan M. Fetzer (Richard) of Woxall; four grandchildren, Grace and Mary Beth Heicher and Daniel and Diana Fetzer.
Burial will be at 11am Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 27, at Bethany Village.
