Doris L. Ludwig

Doris L. Ludwig, 84, formerly of Camp Hill, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Bethany Village, Lower Allen Twp.
She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, New Cumberland, the Harrisburg Bridge Club, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE).
Born on June 19, 1923, in Reading, she was raised in Shoemakersville and graduated from Perry High School. She was the daughter of the late John M. and Beulah (Seiger) Paul. She was the widow of John F. Ludwig and was also preceded in death by a son, James S. Ludwig. Surviving are her son and his life companion, Jeffrey P. Ludwig and Dorothy Stuckey of Harrisburg; two grandsons and their wives, Jonathan S. and Jennifer Ludwig of Wilmington, NC, and Scott A. and Christina Ludwig of Mount Wolf; and a great granddaughter, Heather Ludwig of Mount Wolf.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 30 at Faith United Church of Christ, New Cumberland with the Rev. Denise Clark-Jones, her pastor officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Church of Christ, 1120 Drexel Hills Blvd., New Cumberland, PA 17070; or to Bethany Village Care Assurance Endowment Fund, 325 Wesley Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Arrangements are by Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

Charles F. Mailey
May 29, 2008
Charles F. Mailey, 89, of Etters and formerly of New Cumberland died Thursday May 29, 2008 in Health South, Upper Allen Twp.
He was a retired Transportation Foreman for the former SPCC, Hampden Twp.; a WWII Navy veteran; a graduate of the Central PA Business School and a 1937 graduate of New Cumberland High School. Mr. Mailey was a Charter member of Unity Church of Harrisburg, Enola and VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland. He was also a member of NARFE. He was born March 31, 1919 in New Cumberland to the late Amos and Pearl (Eichelberger) Mailey.
He was the widower of Lavina (Unger) Mailey and is survived by a daughter Kathleen A. McDonald of Mechanicsburg; three sons, Charles “Rick” Mailey and wife Linda of New Cumberland, Marshall K. Mailey of Shippensburg and Kris L. Mailey and wife Mary of Etters; two sisters, Mary Jane Montgomery of Camp Hill and Betty Peffer of Mechanicsburg; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 7, 2008 at 1 pm in his church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
In accordance with Mr. Mailey’s wishes, in lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Unity Church of Harrisburg, 927 Wertzville Rd. Enola, PA 17025.

Ralph E. Rende
June 1, 2008
Ralph E. Rende, 68, of East Pennsboro Twp., Camp Hill and formerly of New Cumberland died Sunday June 1, 2008 in his residence.
He was a retired Produce Manager for Karns Foods, Boiling Springs and a member of Church of the Good Shepherd Parish, Camp Hill and the Eagles Club, Carlisle. Ralph was born June 26, 1939 in Harrisburg to the late Ralph and Rose (Fure) Rende.
He is survived by two sons, Ralph A. and Mark A., both of New Cumberland; a daughter Christina M. Fink of Dauphin; four sisters, Amelia Miller of Harrisburg, Mary E. Popp of Camp Hill, Dorothy M. Ellis and husband Don of Carlisle and Grace L. Kepp and husband Rich of Oberlin; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday June 4, 2008 in his church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. Viewing will be from 9:30 until 10:15 am on Wednesday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Capital Region Unit, 3211 N. Front Street, Suite 100 Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Marjorie H. Roberge
June 2, 2008
Marjorie H. Roberge, 88, of Lewisberry, formerly of Taftville, CT died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp., PA.
She was born January 27, 1920 in Salem, MA to the late Forrest and Dorothy (Domey) Miner. She was the widow of Robert Conrad Roberge. She enjoyed crafts and bird watching.
She is survived by two sons, James of Norwich, CT and Brian of Lewisberry, PA, two daughters, Nanette Douville of Sterling, VA and Nicole Varella of Sunbury, PA; a brother, Paul Clifford of Brattleboro, VT; several nieces and nephews, fifteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Helen J. Bates
June 5, 2008
Helen J. Bates, 85, of Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, York, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the home.
She was a retired assembler from the former Berg Electronics and Dupont in Etters.
The widow of Edwin F. Bates, Mick Volvski, Edward Grossman, and Michael B. Geissinger, she is survived by three sons, James H. Grossman of New Cumberland, Terry Volvski of New Cumberland, and Michael B. Geissinger of Etters; four daughters, Helen Ilyes of York, Carol Shorts and Judy Brown of York Haven and Linda Melhorn of Etters; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held at 9:30am Monday followed by funeral services at 10:30am at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 North Progress, Suite 205, Harrisburg, Pa 17110.

G. Jeanne Stuckey
June 9, 2008
G. Jeanne Stuckey, 84, formerly of Camp Hill died Monday June 9, 2008 in Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp.
She was a 1941 graduate of Burnham High School and a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill where she co-founded and helped coordinate the church’s Reception Committee. She enjoyed cooking and also catered private parties. Mrs. Stuckey was born July 31, 1923 in Burnham, PA to the late Jesse C. and Alice (Ward) Havice.
She was the widow of Richard M. Stuckey and is survived by her daughter Lisa B. Grimm and husband Joachim of Lewisberry; two sisters, Helen Miller and Shirley Hower, both of Lewistown; several in-laws, as well as, multiple nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday June 12, 2008 in her church. The family will receive friends during a light luncheon at the church immediately upon returning from the committal service in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church at 1610 Carlisle Rd. Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Sadie Ruth Baxley
June 9, 2008
Sadie Ruth Taylor Baxley, 79, of New Cumberland, PA and formerly of Wilmington, NC and St. Pauls, NC passed away on June 9, 2008 at home with her family.
She was born in St. Pauls, NC to the late James Perry Taylor and Nancy Kate Powel Taylor on June 30, 1928. Sadie was the widow of Marshall Deward Baxley, a homemaker and a retired waitress for over thirty years, most recently at Jimbo’s Restaurant, Wilmington, NC.
She is survived by three daughters, Frances A. Still of New Cumberland, PA, Faye Uhlin of Etters, PA, and Isabell Terrio of Weare, NH; a son Marvin D. Baxley of NC; two stepsons, Robert and William Baxley, both of MD; two brothers, Johnny Lee Taylor and Grady Glenn Taylor, both of St. Pauls, NC; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Sadie loved flowers and being with her family who loved her so much. Many family members helped Sadie in her last days, especially Victoria Petrone, a future granddaughter-in-law.
Interment will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington, NC at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive Harrisburg, PA 17110.
