Born Aug. 23, 1925 in Reading, he was a son of the late Paul C. and Gertie E. Murray Books.
Mr. Books was a retired DCAS inspector for the U.S. Government and a retired watch repairman. He also worked as a part-time employee of Boscov's Department Store in Camp Hill.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Filey's Parish, in Dillsburg and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene V. Myers Books; two sons, Roger A. and Eric W., both of Dillsburg; a daughter, Sandra K. Books of Dillsburg; a brother, Cleo of Dillsburg; three sisters, Mabel Reynolds, Esther Morris and Martha Cramer, all of Dillsburg; and two grandchildren.
The Rev. Howard Miller will officiate at Sunday's service. Burial will be in the Dillsburg Cemetery.

Walter A. Des Rault, 81, of 3 Clifton Terrace, South Middleton Township, died Thursday, June 5, 1997 in Todd Nursing Home, 1000 W. South St., Carlisle.
Born April 24, 1916 in Long Island City, N.Y., he was the son of the late Walter A. Sr. and Grace Robinson Des Rault.
Mr. Des Rault was a retired hosiery mill representative for Walension Co. in Valdese, N.C. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Carlisle.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Vivian E. Des Rault; a son, Richard W. of Massapequa, N.Y.; a daughter, Nancy J. Des Rault of Burlington, Vt.; a sister, Grace McCormack of Lemont, Ill.; and two grandsons.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Episcopal Church on the Square in Carlisle with the Rev. Dr. Mark A. Scheneman and the Rev. Marcia Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Grace Church Cemetery, Massapequa, N.Y.
There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall of the church after the service.

Leroy "Bucky" Dunlap, 73, of 8 Country Road, West Pennsboro Township, died Thursday. June 5, 1997 in his home.
Born June 7, 1923 in Carlisle, he was a son of Mary E. Graham Dunlap of Carlisle and the late Elmer T. Dunlap. He resided most of his life in the Carlisle area.
Mr. Dunlap attended Carlisle High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific with the 343rd Military Police Escort Guard Company.
He was retired from the Naval Supply Depot, Mechanicsburg, with 36 years of service.
He was a member of Lakeside Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, VFW Post 6070 in Newville, and a life member of the Upper Frankford Township Fire Company.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 52 years, Almeda G. Hurley Dunlap; a son, Brian T. of Carlisle; a daughter, Cheryl A. of Carlisle; a brother, Kenneth E. of Carlisle; a niece; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Creeden Dunlap, who died in 1936.
Private funeral services will be held in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Richard B. Starr will officiate.
Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, North Middleton Township. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Born Jan. 9, 1909 in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Abram and Emma Deardorff Wenk and the widow of James W. Marshall.
She was retired as a registered nurse with Harrisburg State Hospital. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Dillsburg.
Surviving are a son, Thomas W. of Dillsburg; a daughter, Mary Jane Lauer of Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Dillsburg Cemetery with her pastor, the Rev. James T. Dawes, officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Mrs. Reddie was a graduate of Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia and she attended Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia. She was retired from Bell Telephone, where she worked in personnel management.
She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Upper Darby and the Lutheran Belles of Newville.
Surviving are two nieces.

Mr. Zimmerman was a retired employee and letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Mechanicsburg and a bus driver for Mechanicsburg Area School District.
He was a member of Market Square Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg; the First Marine Division Association; Mechanicsburg American Legion Post 109; and the Postal Pistol and Rifle Club.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are two sons, Mark A. of Penbrook and Lonnie E. of York Haven; two daughters, Leslee C. Turman of Blain and Cathy L. Hull of Pocono; a brother, Lester of Harrisburg; a sister, Sharol Achimovich of Linglestown; and 12 grandchildren.

Margaret N. Goodhart, 87, of 119 W. Main St., Walnut Bottom, died Friday, June 6, 1997 in Carlisle Hospital.
Born April 7, 1910 in Walnut Bottom, she was a daughter of the late Levi L. and Valeria R. Pechart Naugle. She was the widow of Mark M. Goodhart, who died Oct. 25, 1980.
A graduate of the former Carlisle Commercial College, Mrs. Goodhart was a retired employee of the state Department of Agriculture.
She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom, where she was a teacher and coordinator for the children's Sunday school classes for more than 50 years. She was also a church historian.
She was a member of AARP; the ladies' auxiliaries of Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223 and Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168; and Cumberland County Historical Society.
Surviving are one brother, L. Rodney Naugle of Walnut Bottom; three sisters, Catherine Warren of Carlisle, S. Elizabeth Myers of Newville and Mary C. Minor of Walnut Bottom; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Trinity United Methodist Church, 118 W. Main St., Walnut Bottom, with the Rev. Deborah Heisley-Cato officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.

Surviving are two daughters, Ruth E. Watts of York Springs and Louise C. Nauman of Gardners; two sons, Zeal E. and Harvey E., both of Galeton; one sister, Minnie Billett of York; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra A. Sheely.
