He died Saturday, June 28, 1997 in Menno Haven, Chambersburg.
Born Nov. 1, 1897 in Marion, Guilford Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Nicholas M. and Sarah Sallie Teeter Hafer and the widower of Mabel J. Snoke Hafer, who died in 1978.
He was a graduate of Chambersburg High School, Gettysburg College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg in 1924.
During his career, he served congregations in Red Lion, east York, Allen, Centerville, Rebersburg, Boiling Springs and Newville.
Surviving are several nieces.
The Rev. Warren Heintzelman will officiate at Wednesday's service. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

Services for Charles W. "Charlie" Lamp, 48, of Silver Spring Township, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, New Kingstown.
He died Sunday, June 29, 1997 in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
Born March 19, 1949 in Schenectady, N.Y., he was a son of the late Theodore and Barbara Holzhauer Lamp.
Mr. Lamp was the social services coordinator for the Church of God Home, Carlisle. He was a graduate of Linton High School, Schenectady, N.Y. and the State University of New York at Oneonta, N.Y.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, New Kingstown, where he was a Sunday school teacher and active with the youth groups, and he belonged to the Keystone Chapter, National Remotivation Therapy Organization.
Surviving are his wife, Marcia "Marci" Lamp and a daughter, Leslie E. at home.
The Rev. Donald J. Seiple will officiate at Sunday's service. Burial will be in Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingstown, at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by Myers Funeral Home, 37 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg.

Private services for Dorothy Pauline Bricker, 89, of Lancashire Hall, Lancaster County, formerly of the Harrisburg area, will be held at the convenience of the family.
She died Sunday, June 29, 1997 at the hall.
Born July 1, 1907 in Steelton, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Goldie M. Strine Wharton and the widow of Paul A. Bricker.
Mrs. Bricker was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Harrisburg.
Surviving are a son, Paul W. of Camp Hill; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Elaine L. Davis, 48, of Lemoyne and formerly of Clearfield, died Monday, July 1, 1997 in Harrisburg Hospital.
Born March 12, 1949 in Clearfield, she was a daughter of Irene Zerby Davis of Clearfield and the late John H. Davis.
She had just completed 25 years of service as a Supply Systems Analyst for the Department of the Navy at the Navy Fleet Material Support Office, Mechanicsburg.
She was a member of St. Timothy's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, where she served as treasurer. She had received her associate's degree from a school in Pittsburgh and attended classes at Harrisburg Area Community College.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two sisters, Mary Kay Torretti of Lewisburg and Carol Ann Failing of Wilmington, Del.; five nephews; and a niece.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in her church with the Rev. David A. Swanson officiating.

Douglas Phillip McNaughton Sr., 35, of Big Spring Terrace, Newville, died Monday, July 1, 1997 at Polyclinic Hospital as a result of an automobile accident.
Born July 4, 1961 in Akron, Ohio, he was a son of the late David C. Sr. and June Cain McNaughton.
Mr. McNaughton was employed by Service Tire Truck Centers, Harrisburg.
Surviving are his wife, Wendy Corman McNaughton; a daughter, Tabatha R. at home; a son, Douglas P. Jr. at home; five brothers, David C. Jr. of Marysville, George P. Sr. of Newville, Ronald E. Sr. of Dover, Michael J. Sr. of New Cumberland and Randy J. of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Ernest D. Jackson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Garden, West Pennsboro Township.

Francisco R. Nieves, 74, of 595 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997 at Green Acres Nursing Home.
Born March 17, 1923 in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Juan and Sophia Rosado Nieves and the widower of Ramona Espinell Nieves, who died in 1974.
Mr. Nieves was a former employee of Hanover Brands Co., Hanover.
Surviving are three daughters, Rosalina Santiago of Hartford, Conn., Romonita Rivera of Arendtsville and Maria Nieves of Biglerville; two sons, William of Gettysburg and Luis of Hanover; three sisters, Cruza Nieves of Brooklyn, N.Y., Rosa Nieves and Antonia Nieves, both of Puerto Rico; a brother, Manuel of New Oxford; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis Xavier Church, 22 W. High St., Gettysburg with the Rev. Caesar A. Belchez officiating. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown.

Clark A. Rhoads Sr., 76, of 2095 Pine Road, Newville, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997 at home.
Born Feb. 23, 1921 in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Roy and Bessie McCoy Rhoads.
Mr. Rhoads retired after many years of service with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Carlisle.
He was a member of Dickinson Presbyterian Church, Cumminstown, the Minnequa Social Club, American Legion Post No. 233 and the Masonic Lodge No. 315, all of Shippensburg.
He was a life member of the Walnut Bottom Rod and Gun Club and the Big Spring Fish and Game Association.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Dorris Richwine Rhoads; three sons, Gary L. of Carlisle, Roy W. and Clark A. Jr., both of Newville; three brothers, Earl R. and Lester D. of Carlisle and Floyd S. of Newville; a sister, Mary Thrush of Carlisle; four granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with the Rev. Dr. W. Marvin Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.

Miss Durnin was a 1953 graduate of South High, Denver, Colo.
She was retired from United Telephone Co., Carlisle, with more than 35 years of service. After retirement, she worked for three years at the F.W. Woolworth store at the MJ Mall, Carlisle.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Carlisle.
Surviving are her nephew, Gordon S. Kelly of Carlisle; two nieces, Diana McLaughlin of Lemoyne and Dena Durnin of Camp Hill; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
