Born July 16, 1919 in Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Clara J. Kutz Cornman and the widow of Samuel L. Simmons.
Mrs. Kutz was a member of Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church.
Surviving are her son, Raymond L. of Mechanicsburg; two daughters, Joyce A. Halter of Carlisle and Clara Simmons Flinchum of New Kingstown; four brothers, Harold Cornman of Newville, Robert Cornman of Gardners, Leon Cornman of Plainfield and Earl Cornman of Carlisle; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Kenneth R. Hepner and the Rev. Simon A. Lehman Jr. will officiate at Friday's service. Burial will be in Trindle Spring Cemetery, Silver Spring Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Myers Funeral Home, 37 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Bertha L. Albright, 96, of RD 1, Landisburg, died Thursday, July 31, 1997 in Manor Care Nursing Home, Carlisle.
Born Oct. 21, 1900 in Erly, Perry County, she was a daughter of the late William and Lillian Stimerling and the widow of John William Albright.
Mrs. Albright was a retired employee of the Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster and was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Landisburg.
Surviving are a son, John D. Albright of Lancaster; a daughter, Ruth Steele of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Grier's Point Cemetery, Rye Township.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Alethea M. Myers, 84, of Camp Hill, died Thursday, July 31, 1997 in the Camp Hill Care Center.
Born July 16, 1913 in Steubenville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John and Mayme McClean Ochsendorf and the widow of Charles D. Myers.
Mrs. Myers was a member of Bower Hill Community Church, Pittsburgh.
Surviving are a son, Charles D. Jr. of Camp Hill; a daughter, Carol A. Nunes of Tuscon, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family in her church. Burial will be in Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, Ohio.

Services for Fred Curtis Petty, associate professor of music at Dickinson College and conductor of the College-Community Orchestra in Carlisle, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Old St. Paul's Church, Charles and Saratoga streets, Baltimore, Md.
Born in Palestine, Texas, he was a son of Deleath Orville and Frances Browning Petty.
Mr. Petty served as first lieutenant in the Air Force Strategic Air Command at Lowery Air Force base and Amarillo Air Force Base from 1964-66.
He received a bachelor's degree in music at Texas Christian University, a master's degree in musicology from Cornell University and a master's and Ph.D in music history from Yale University. He received a Fulbright Scholarship and studied French horn in Vienna, Austria in 1961-62. He authored the book "Italian Opera in London."
He conducted the College-Community Orchestra and taught courses in music history from 1971-1996. For 12 years he served as music director for the Harrisburg Opera Association, directing numerous productions.
A member of the American Musicology Society, his hobbies were woodworking and sailing. He built his own boat, furniture, and remodeled a barn into a house.
Surviving are his first wife, Marguerite Goodman Greenfield; second wife, Josephine Dixon Johnson; four sons, Eathan S. Petty, Joseph D. B. Petty, Frederick H. Petty and David R. Petty and a daughter, Katherine F. Petty.

Eleanor M. Springer, 84, of Fairview Retirement Community, and formerly of Camp Hill and Benton, died Thursday, July 31, 1997 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born July 5, 1913 in Wormleysburg, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Stella Madden Russell and the widow of Paul J. Springer.
Mrs. Springer was the co-owner of the former Springer's Lawn Mower Shop, Camp Hill. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia A. Jackson of Camp Hill; a brother, Robert Russell of Shiremanstown; three sisters, Regina Packer of Harrisburg, Martha Kitzmiller of New Cumberland, and Helen Fake of Enola; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert P. Springer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in her church with Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in St. Martha's Cemetery, Stillwater, at 2:30 p.m.

A graduate of Big Spring High School, Mr. Diven was a laborer for Masland Industries and a farmer. He attended First Church of God, Carlisle.
Surviving are one daughter, Nicole Renee of Carlisle; one son, Eli Daniel of Newville; and three sisters, Trudy J. Strine, Mary Jo Gibson and Cynthia A. Mentzer, all of Carlisle.

Born June 18, 1904 in Mechanicsburg, she was a daughter of the late J. Weir and Lorene Brownawell Hertzler. She was the widow of John O. Nickey.
Mrs. Nickey was a member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one brother, J. Wayne Hertzler of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Romaine Forry of Mechanicsburg; and one niece and four nephews.
