He died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1997 in his home.
Born April 24, 1936 in Monaghan Township, he was a son of the late Sylvester F. and Mildred E. Crone Fletcher.
Mr. Fletcher was employed by McDonald's Restaurant in Lemoyne, was a former employee of Gettysburg Shoe Factory and was the former owner of Fletcher's Fruit Stand, Dillsburg.
He was Monaghan Township fire chief and a member of its fire company since 1962. He also was a member of Gettysburg Moose Lodge 1526 since 1962.
Surviving are four brothers, Kenneth E. of Harrisburg, Allen B. of Hummelstown, Rodger L. of Annville, and David W. of Dillsburg; and a sister, Carolyn L. Adams of Dillsburg.
Chaplain Herb Hartman will officiate at Friday's service. Burial will be in Tri-County Memorial Park, Lewisberry.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight and from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Edward R. Green Sr., 69, formerly of Philadelphia, will be conducted Saturday in Philadelphia.
He died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1997, in Bethany Village, Lower Allen Township.
Born Sept. 25, 1927, he was a son of the late Byron L. and Margaret Nolan Green.
Mr. Green was a retired stillman from Gulf Oil Corp. An Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he earned an Occupational Medal (Japan), a Silver Star (Korea) and three Bronze Stars.
He received the 190th heart transplant at Temple University Hospital on May 15, 1990 and was an advocate for donor awareness through Kidney I. He was a member and supporter of the Second Chance Club.
He also was a member and former chairman of the administrative board of Clearview United Methodist Church for more than 40 years and a member and past worshipful master of St. Alban-Swain Lodge 529 at the Renaissance Hall in the Masonic Temple, Philadelphia.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Jackson Green; a son, Edward Jr. of Delran, N.J.; two daughters, Dotty Brlansky of Mechanicsburg and Staci Woerle of Philadelphia; a brother, H. Erwin of Philadelphia; a sister, Marian Ricci of Philadelphia; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Byron Green and a sister, Dorothy Yanonis.
Masonic services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Clearview United Methodist Church, 7601 Buist Ave., Philadelphia. Celebration and remembrance will follow at 11 a.m.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Glenwood Memorial Park, Broomall.

She died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1997, in the home.
Born Feb. 2, 1915, in Wainfleet, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Alice Stockley Sider.
She served at the Chicago Mission of Brethren in Christ Church and worked on the housekeeping staff of Messiah Home and Messiah Village.
She was a member of Grantham Brethren in Christ Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Lewis B. Sider of Mechanicsburg, and Murray Sider of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
The Rev. Mary Jane Davis, her pastor, will officiate at Friday's service. Burial will be in Grantham Memorial Park, Grantham.

Irene "Rusty" Adams Soutner, 77, formerly of Camp Hill, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, in HealthSouth's Renova Center for Special Services, Upper Allen Township.
Born May 12, 1920 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late William and Josephine Wise Adams and the widow of John A. Soutner.
A retired inventory control clerk from Naval Inventory Control Point, Hampden Township, Mrs. Soutner was currently a bookkeeper for Big "33" of New Cumberland.
She was a member of NARFE, Mechanicsburg Chapter 1816.
Surviving are her daughter, Wendy L. Soutner of Camp Hill; two sons, Thomas R. of Camp Hill and Steven J. of New Cumberland; a sister, Nancy E. Blauch of Camp Hill; a brother, W. Robert Adams of Harrisburg; and one grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Parthemore Funeral Home, 1303 Bridge St., New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township.

Born June 12, 1918 in Selinsgrove, he was a son of the late Rolland and Verna Holdren Bierly.
Mr. Bierly was a retired engineer for Steelton-Highspire Railroad.
He was a member of the Church of God in Mt. Holly Springs, the Eagle Lodge in Carlisle and a life member of the Moose Lodge in Carlisle.
Surviving are his wife, M. Louise Dellinger Bierly; a stepdaughter, Pamela L. Stambaugh of Red Lion; two sisters, Cordie Gust of Harrisburg and Ava Boney of Hartleton; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
The Cremation Society of Harrisburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Harry A. Dorwart Sr., 66, of Hampden Township and formerly of Ross Avenue, New Cumberland, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born Oct. 15, 1930 in York, he was a son of the late Harry and Mae Dorwart.
Mr. Dorwart was a retired lift truck mechanic for American Can Co., Lemoyne and a former employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad and Rolling Green Memorial Park. He also operated a freelance lawn care service.
He attended Trinity United Methodist Church, New Cumberland.
Surviving are his wife, Marelle E. Davis Dorwart; two sons, Harry A. Jr. of Newberry Township and Darry L. of Fairview Township; four daughters, Mary Whitsel of Union Deposit, Kathy Conley of York, Darla Terry of Etters and Melissa Dorwart of Etters; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home, 1303 Bridge St., New Cumberland with the Rev. Carl F. Peterson officiating. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township.

Robert A. Hartford, 58, of 84 Detroit Ave., Mechanicsburg, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born Oct. 15, 1938 in Scranton, he was a son of the late Nathaniel B. and Ruth L. Owens Hartford.
Mr. Hartford was employed by Pennsylvania State Exposition Services Inc., Harrisburg and was a U.S. Marines veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of Scranton Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys E. Crockett Hartford; four daughters, Faith R. and Tammie J., both at home, Carol and Janet, both of New York; five brothers, Kenneth of Florida, Alvin of Ohio, Gordon, Thomas and Allen, all of New York; five sisters, Joan Hartford of California, Dale Miller, Beverly Fleming, Beatrice Sackett and Rosann English.
Services will be held at noon Tuesday in David Myers Funeral Home, Second and Walnut streets, Newport. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery.
