She died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born July 12, 1929 in Lewisberry, she was a daughter of Edna Taylor Deardorff of Lewisberry and the late Francis Deardorff, and and the widow of Richard Ort.
Mrs. Ort was a secretary for the former New Cumberland Army Depot.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her companion, Robert H. Graham of Dillsburg; a son, Roger L. of Dillsburg; and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Thomas S. Mellott will officiate at Friday's services. Burial will be in the Emanuel Cemetery, Lewisberry.

Services for Gladys E. Sanders, 78, of Mechanicsburg, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Myers Funeral Home, 37 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg.
She died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997 at home.
Born Dec. 16, 1918 in Newport, Ark., she was a daughter of the late James and Grace McBride Davis and the widow of Gleason V. Sanders.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Caruso of Willowbrook, Ill. and Melissa E. Shaffer of Mechanicsburg; a son, James Lowery of Telford; three stepsons, Cleason V. Sanders Jr. of Tacoma, Wash., Charles Sanders and Douglas Sanders, both of Fresno, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Connie Long of Park Ridge, Ill. and Debrah Sanders of Centralia, Ill.; three sisters, Dorothy Demes of Harwood Heights Ill., Hazel Hoyt and Daisy Knight of Arkansas; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

John F. Staschiak, 61, of Saville Township and St. Augustine, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997 at his Saville Township home.
Born Jan. 8, 1934 in Centerville, he was the son of Mary Kennedy of Atlasburg and the late John Staschiak.
Mr. Staschiak was co-owner and manager of Moultrie Oaks Adult Retirement Community in St. Augustine and a retired employee of Unisys. He was a retired Marine Corps veteran and commander of the St. Augustine Chapter of the Marine Corps League.
He was a member of Social Order of Owls, American Legion Post 177 and Moose Lodge No. 1526, all of Newport, and the St. Augustine Elks Club.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Anne Decker Staschiak McGrath of Grantville; a son, John D. of St. Augustine and Millerstown; two daughters, Lisa S. Rabon of Middletown and Cynthia S. McGrath of Grantville; two brothers, Kevin of Middleburg and James of Findley, Ohio; two sisters, Stephanie Birman and Mary Ann Malinkey, both of Madison, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Boyer Funeral Home, 101 Main St., New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Anthony C. Hill officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Eshcol Cemetery.

Mario S. Acosta, 34, of Mt. Holly Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 1997 in Harrisburg Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1963 in Allende, N.L., Mexico to Victor and Maria Segura Acosta, he was employed by Bob Evans Restaurant of Mechanicsburg and was a former employee of Shoney's, Mechanicsburg and the County Depot Restaurant, Newport.
He was a musician and played keyboards for many Mexican bands throughout Texas.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Debra Raye Kaseman Acosta; four brothers, Felipe, Vicente, JoseSaul, and Oscar, all of Allende, and three sisters, Ramona, Juanny, and Irma, all of Allende.
Services will be held Saturday in Mexico. Local arrangements are being handled by Nickel Funeral Home in Loysville.

Wilbur C. "Bill" Bishop Jr., 71, of the Thornwald Home in Carlisle, formerly of Boiling Springs, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997 at the home.
Born July 11, 1926 in Carlisle to the late Wilbur C. Sr. and Irene Clay Bishop, he lived in Boiling Springs for many years. He graduated from Carlisle High School in 1944 and Dickinson College in 1950.
He was retired from the former Navy Ships Parts Control Center in Hampden Township after 30 years of service. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps.
Mr. Bishop was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janette Danner Bishop; three daughters, Carol A. Gleixner and Jan L. Burrows of Mechanicsburg and Amy R. Bishop of Elizabethtown; and four grandsons.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Louther St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Richard A. Ruff and the Rev. Sharon F. Kelly officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.

Theodore R. Franklin, 93, a resident of Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle and formerly of Walnut Street, Carlisle, died Wednesday, August 27, 1997 in the nursing home.
Born Nov. 11, 1903 in Mt. Holly Springs, he was the son of the late William and Anne Dalton Franklin.
He was retired from Carlisle Shoe Factory after 30 years of service and was a former employee of the YMCA, Carlisle. He was a former Pennsylvania state bowling champion and a former member of many bowling leagues. He was a member of Friendship Fire Company, Carlisle.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Eleanor Davis Franklin; a daughter, Nancy A. Horn, Carlisle; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.

Rosella M. Glock, 88, who resided with her niece, Miriam G. Witter of 744 Orrstown Road, Shippensburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997 at home.
Born Aug. 20, 1909 in Baltimore, Md., she was a daughter of the late H. Henry Sr. and Catherine Mattes Glock.
She attended Chambersburg Gospel Chapel and had attended the former Eastern Gospel Chapel of Brooklyn, Md. She was the last of her immediate family and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Brooklyn Gospel Chapel, Jack and Sixth Streets, Brooklyn, Md. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore.

Born Nov. 20, 1941 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Wayne A. and Elizabeth Drotleff Johnson.
Mr. Johnson and his wife owned and operated U.S. Perma Shield and the Rite Spot Motel and Restaurant, Fayetteville, for the past 18 years. Before that, he had been employed at Carlisle Barracks and Chambersburg Engineering Co.
He was a 1959 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fayetteville.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Gilbert Johnson; a daughter, Traci Zajcevski of Glen Rock; and a sister, Kay Trail of Downingtown.
The Rev. David L. Hefner will officiate at Saturday's services. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
