Frederick M. Gillespie, Jr.
Frederick M. "Fred" Gillespie, Jr., of Lewisberry, Fairview Twp., died Tuesday, July 31, 2001at his home.
He was a Mechanical Engineer with Appleton Papers, Camp Hill and Newton Falls, NY. A graduate of Old Dominion, Norfolk, VA, he was a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Harrisburg. He enjoyed boating, woodworking, and golf.
He was born April 28, 1946 in Harrisburg to the late Frederick M. and Helen (Ekendahl) Gillespie.
His wife, Mary Alice; two sons, Nathan C. at home and Chad E. Shambaugh of York; and a daughter, Wendy L. Etter of York Haven, survive him.
Memorial Services will be held at 7:30pm Friday at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisberry.
Visitation will be from 6:30pm until time of service Friday at Mt. Zion.

Theodore A. Groninger
Theodore A. Groninger, 89, of New Cumberland and formerly of Altoona died Thursday May 3, 2001 in Manor Care, Camp Hill.
He was a retired Right of Way Agent for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Harrisburg and a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland Retired Men's Club and West Shore Senior Citizens Center, all of New Cumberland.
He was born March 8, 1912 in Altoona to the late Howard F. & Phoebe (Mauger) Groninger.
He was the widower of Harriet (Williams) Groninger and is survived by 2 daughters, Becky Bakker of Livermore, CA and Susan Laird of New Cumberland; 3 grandchildren, Steve Laird, Scott Laird and Wendy Bakker.
Memorial services will be held at 1pm Monday May 7, 2001 in his church with the Rev. Robert A. Graybill, his pastor officiating. Inurnment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Visitation will be from 12:30pm until time of service Monday in the church.

James O. Hamill, Jr.
James O. Hamil, Jr., 65, of Harrisburg, Susquehana Twp., died Sunday, April 8, 2001 at Florida Hospital South, Orlando. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired Sales Representative for the former Syntonic Technology of Harrisburg and previously for D & H Distributors, Harrisburg. He was a member of American Legion Post 730, Penbrook and enjoyed sailing.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Hamill, his father, James O. Hamill of Harrisburg; a daughter, Susan E. Miller of Harrisburg; a son, James A. Hamill of Harrisburg; two step-sons, Keith E. Barshinger of Harrisburg and Steve D. Barshinger of Manheim; a brother, Dennis Hamill of Middletown; a sister, Virginia Walls of Quaryville; and two grandchildren, Brittany J. Barshinger and Adam R. Miller, both of Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30pm Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland, http://www.parthemore.com/. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp.
Viewing will be from 2pm until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Elizabeth B. Hanemann
Elizabeth B. "Betty Ann" Hanemann, 69, of New Cumberland, died Friday, April 06, 2001 at Bethany Village, Lower Allen Twp.
She was a former English teacher at Camp Hill High School and also in the West Chester School District; a 1953 graduate of Dickinson College, Carlisle, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity; she was active in the New Cumberland Public Library and the New Cumberland Library Foundation House; was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland; the Red Land Woman's Club; and a member of the board of directors for Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council.
She was born June 18, 1931 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Harry L. and Sarah E. Nelson Bishop.
She is survived by her husband Herman A. Hanemann; a son Thomas A. Hanemann, Bridgewater, NJ; a daughter Karen E. Melvin, New Cumberland; a brother H. Leslie Bishop, Camp Hill; 2 granddaughters and 2 grandsons survive her.
Memorial services will be held 11am Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at her church with the Rev. Ronald A. Sell officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Monday, April 9, 2001 at Parthemore Funeral and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

Ernest Harris, Jr.
Ernest "Ernie" Harris, Jr., 76, of Fairview Twp., died Sunday, March 18, 2001 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was retired office manager for labor relations at Conrail. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII; a member of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, Fairview Twp., V.F.W. Post 7415, New Cumberland; American Legion Post 1001, Harrisburg; Steelton Moose; American Philatelic Society, State College.
He was born 1.12.1925 in South Williamsport to the late Ernest Harris Sr. and the late Esther Jonas Harris.
He is survived by his wife Romayne S. Wright Harris; two sons, Brian Harris, Mechanicsburg and Andrew Harris, New Cumberland; three step-sons, Richard M. Horne, Chester, Michael J. Horne, Dillsburg, and Robert M. Horne, Newberry Twp.; a step daughter, Linda J. Horne, Lewisberry; two sisters, Betty V. Kephart, Lamont, and Shirley Belt, Lancaster; two grand children; 11 step grand children; 2 step great grand children.
Funeral services will be held 10am Wednesday in his church with Rev. Timothy R. Baer, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Viewing will be 7-9pm Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

Jack E. Hestor
Jack E. Hestor, 67, of New Cumberland died Saturday March 10, 2001 in his residence.
He was a retired computer programmer for AMP, Inc. and was an Air Force veteran of Korean war. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland; Lowther Manor Lodge 781, Camp Hill; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Temple where he was past commander of the Legion of Honor and co-founder of the Mini Car unit and belonged to its Luncheon Club; Cumberland County Shrine Club;Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest 43, Harrisburg; Past Commander of American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland; Turkey Buzzards of Central PA; Northeastern PA Grand & Glorious Order of Hillbilly Degree, Clan #119.
He was born December 31, 1933 in Newport, PA to the late Daniel A. and Ada C. (Fenstermacher) Hestor.
He is survived by his wife Janet M. (Hornberger) Hestor; a son John E. of Mechanicsburg; a daughter Jill E. Hestor of Millersburg; 2 brothers, Robert of New Berlin and Lenus of Middleburg, R.D.; and a grandson, Austin J. Hestor. He was preceded in death by a brother Frederick A. Hestor.
Services will be held 1:30 pm Wednesday March 14, 2001 in his church with the Rev. Ronald Sell, his pastor officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
