Born Dec. 18, 1925, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John and Mae Higgins Mullin and the widow of Max W. Schmidt.
Mrs. Schmidt was a retired examination specialist for the Pennsylvania Department of State, Civil Service Commission.
She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church of Harrisburg and Friends of New Cumberland Public Library. She also was a volunteer for Health South, Renova Center of Upper Allen Township.
Surviving are two daughters, Kim T. Rosenberg of Lancaster and Laurie S. Walker of Mechanicsburg; two stepdaughters, Maxine M. Vickers of Aberdeen, Md., and Margretta S. Heidorn of McPherson, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday in Parthemore Funeral Home, 1303 Bridge St., New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township.
There will be no viewing; however, friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Helen M. Green, 89, of Swaim Health Center, Newville, formerly of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997 in the center.
Born May 24, 1908 in Metal Township, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Charlotte Gamble Cramer and the widow of Orville G. Green, who died March 29, 1997.
A member of Zion Lutheran Church of Newville, Mrs. Green was a former member of Shippensburg Golden Age Club and AARP Chapter 2525 of Shippensburg.
Surviving are two step-grandchildren, Joann V. Holtry and Robert D. Hamsher, both of Orrstown; six step-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, with the Rev. Robert K. Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Services for Donald E. Thrush, 68, of 31 Byers Road, Shippensburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Mt. Rock Brethren in Christ Church, 22 Mt. Rock Road, Shippensburg.
He died Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997 at home.
Born July 7, 1929 in Southampton Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Deihl Thrush.
A retired dairy farmer in partnership with his brother, Samuel, for 36 years, Mr. Thrush recently operated a lawn care service.
He was a member of Mt. Rock Brethren in Christ Church, where he was a former deacon. He served on the board of directors of Children's Bible Mission at Camp Joy-el and had served in short term mission services in Nicaragua, the Bronx in New York, San Francisco, Honduras, Russia and Belize.
He was treasurer and former board member of Franklin County Area Vocational-Technical School. For 12 years, Mr. Thrush served on the board of directors of Shippensburg Area School District.
He also had served on various agricultural committees in Franklin and Cumberland counties.
Surviving are his wife, Betha L. Wingert Thrush; four sons, Curtis A. of Milen, Clair W. of Ulster, Dean E. of Damascus, Md., and Lane I. of Shippensburg; one daughter, Wanda L. Lehman of Annville; three brothers, Arthur of Newburg, Samuel of Shippensburg and Kenneth of Bloomsburg; three sisters, Marie Wingert of Fayetteville, Pauline Burkholder of Chambersburg and Nancy Mellinger of Mt. Joy; and nine grandchildren.
The Revs. Lloyd T. Zimmerman and Lynn I. Thrush will officiate at Monday's service. Burial will be in Air Hill Cemetery, Greene Township, Franklin County.

Arthur E. Campbell, 84, 48 W. High St., Carlisle, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997 in Sarah Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born April 12, 1913 in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Parker H. and Blanche E. Wolfe Campbell.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a former employee of PPG and Carlisle Shoe Co., Carlisle.
Surviving are a sister, Elmerta E. Gottshall of Mt. Holly Springs and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Kutz's Cemetery, Middlesex Township. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Funeral services for Mary R. Guise, 74, of 63 Laurel Road, Gardners, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gettysburg Church of the Brethren, 1710 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg.
She died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997 at Gettysburg Hospital.
She was born Nov. 16, 1922 in Abbottstown, the daughter of the late Irvin M. and Martha E. Messinger Jacobs.
Mrs. Guise had been employed at Knouse Foods Corp. and also at Upper Adams School District for many years.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren Marsh Creek Congregation, Gettysburg, the Women's Christian Temperance Union, Ladies Prayer Breakfast, and the Upper Adams Prayer Breakfast.
She also was associated with numerous charity organizations including the Brethren Home Auxiliary, Children's Aid Society, Adams County Rescue Mission, several migrant programs and ministries.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Harold S. Guise; a daughter, Elaine M. Stambaugh of Arendtsville; a son, Donald E. Guise of New Oxford; four sisters, Ruth Ellsworth, Grace Ruhlman and Darlene Ruhlman, all of Hanover, and Bernadine Strayer of York; three brothers, Bruce Jacobs of McConnellsburg, John Jacobs of Spring Grove and Donald Jacobs of New Oxford; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne J. Yohe.
The Rev. Joel F. Nogle will officiate at Sunday's services. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery.

Evelyn Caldwell Hemphill, 79, of 643 N. East St., Carlisle, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997 in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
Born Feb. 13, 1918 in Newville, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Eva May Caldwell Hemphill.
A graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, she was a retired employee of AMP Inc. and a member of Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Mae Hemphill, who died Aug. 14, 1983.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with the Rev. Thomas H. Schmid officiating. Burial will be in Newville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Margaret L. Buck Wolf, 92, of 442 Walnut Bottom Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1997 in Thornwald Nursing Home, Carlisle.
She was the daughter of the late William W. and Mamie Harris Buck and the spouse of the late J. Heimer Wolf, who died in 1974.
Born June 20, 1905 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Abbottstown.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Meintel of Fort Wayne, Ind., three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held today at 1 p.m. in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Abbottstown, with the Rev. Christine O. Lentz officiating. There will be no viewing.

Richard A. Barry Sr., 66, of 918 S. Mountain Road, Dillsburg, died Saturday, September 27, 1997 in Harrisburg Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1931 in Elizabethville, he was a son of Doris I. Richards Barry and the late Harry A. Barry.
Mr. Barry was a retired truck driver for Carolina Freight and part time bus driver for Wolf's Bus Lines, York Springs.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a life member of the South Mountain VFW Post No. 6771, Dillsburg. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 0272, Linglestown, and an honorary retired member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local No. 776.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Gladys P. Maurer Barry; four sons, Terry of Enola, Richard Jr. of Wellsville, Roger Sostar of Halifax and Michael Sostar of Etters; five daughters, Sandy Swineford of Selinsgrove; Jane Bysko of Old Lyme, Conn., Sharon Metzger and Robin Marshall, both of Harrisburg, and Deborah Barry of Wellsville; a brother, Robert Barry of Enola; a sister Gladys Moyer of New Cumberland; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg.
Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County.
