Born Sept. 26, 1903 in Shade Gap, he was the son of the late James L. and Sarah E. Shoop Hockenberry.
A retired farmer and saw miller, he was a member of Young's United Methodist Church, Shermans Dale Lions Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Carlisle, and was a former Carroll Township tax assessor.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Smee Hockenberry; five daughters, Lois Brownawell, Rena Brunner and Wanda Cupp, all of Shermans Dale, Myra Miller of York Springs and Audrey Kuhn of Boiling Springs; two sisters, Florence Pittinger and Beatrice Stull, both of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Barry E. Hockenberry; two brothers, Orlando and Unaldra Hockenberry; and a sister, Margaret Smith.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Young's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Woolever and the Rev. Lloyd Shellenberger officiating. Interment will be in the church Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Boyer Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., New Bloomfield, and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Calvin W. Hoon Jr., 43, of 116 Gerald Ave., Shillington, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born Aug. 15, 1954 in Harrisburg to Calvin W. Sr. and Ora F. Hoch Hoon of Newberrytown, he was a 1972 graduate of Red Land High School and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Jennifer A. Davis Hoon; three daughters, April M. Hoon of Lock Haven and Jessica L. Hoon of West Fairview; three sons, Christopher B. of New Cumberland, Benjamin W. and James W., both at home; a brother, Frank R. Hoon, of Dillsburg; and a sister, Cynthia S. Firth of Oklawaha, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg with the Rev. Martha L. Lady officiating.
Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery, Silver Spring Township. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday.
Helen M. Price, 86, a resident of Shippensburg Health Care Center and formerly of 29 S. Fayette St., Shippensburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997 in the center.
Born Dec. 5, 1910 in Dry Run, a daughter of the late John and Anne Stitt Price, she was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. She had worked at the Shirtcraft Co. and as a bookkeeper for Seibert's Coal Yard, both formerly of Shippensburg.
She is survived by two sons, Frederick E. Seibert of Carlisle and Donald L. Seibert of Shippensburg; two daughters, Pauline V. Hinkle of Shippensburg and M. Jane Alleman, of Gettysburg; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg with the Rev. Dr. Jonathan C. Terry and Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday.

Services for Edmond G. Moore Sr., 54, of 12 YMCA Drive, Duncannon, will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Roseglen Brethren in Christ Church, New Bloomfield Road, Duncannon.
He died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997 as the result of a train accident in Dauphin County.
Born Sept. 24, 1943 in Orbisonia, Huntingdon, County, he was the son of the late Nelson and Eunice Byers Moore.
Employed as a conductor by Conrail, he was a member of the United Transportation Union Local 830, Social Order of Owls in Newport and was past commander of American Legion 340, Duncannon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kramer Moore; two sons, Edmond G. Jr. and Alan L., both of Duncannon; three brothers, William of California, Joseph of Three Springs and Robert of Kentucky; three sisters, Nellie Moore of Mt. Union, Nancy Keebaugh of Hustontown and Donna Price of Shade Gap; and one granddaughter.
Further services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Martin Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, Rockhill Furnace, with military honors. The Rev. William Baublitz will officiate at both services.

Thomas J. Heatherly, 75, of 62 Magaw Ave., Carlisle, formally of Stratford, Conn., died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997 in Cumberland Crossings Retirement Center, South Middleton Township.
Born Oct. 23, 1921 in Hoboken, N.J., he is the son of the late Joseph A. and Anna V. McVicar Heatherly.
A 1939 graduate of St. Michael's High School in Union City, N.J., he was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Stratford and had attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Carlisle.
He retired after 40 years of service with Sikorsky Aircraft division of United Technology Corp. in Stratford as foreman of quality assurance. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II with the rank of technical sergeant and held numerous medals for his military service. He was a member of VFW Post 8851 in Boiling Springs.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Hubertha A. Hardenberg Heatherly; a son, Peter W. of Lebanon, Conn.; two daughters, Catherine H. Dembowski of Boiling Springs and Patricia H. Lea of Bristol, Vt.; four brothers, Joseph T., William and James of Phoenix, Ariz. and John of New Jersey; three sisters, Rosemary Kinlin of Demarest, N.J., Catherine Tyndel of Florida and Ann Philips of New Jersey; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Monroe Township. There will be no visitation.

Charles A. Helman, 69, of 10499 Newburg Road, Roxbury, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997 in his home.
Born Feb. 23, 1928 in New Franklin, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Mary Keefer Helman.
Retired from Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Vonnie M. Ile Helman; a son, Thomas C. Helman, of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Sherie R. Hurst of Orlando; three brothers, Kenneth E. and Lonnie L. of Chambersburg and Roy D. of Fayetteville; six sisters, Mary Lewis, Carrie Wingert, Betty McClure, Eva Defenderfer, Dorothy Clark, Doris Gayman, all of Chambersburg; a grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., 112 W. King St., Shippensburg with the Rev. J. R. Wells officiating. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery, Lurgan Township.

Ruth F. Stoner, 68, of 2800 Columbia Ave., Camp Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, in her home.
Born April 30, 1929 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Evelyn M. Yinger Peifer.
Mrs. Stoner was a 1947 graduate of Camp Hill High School.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin J. "Beany" Stoner; two sons, Stephen J. of Mechanicsburg and Scott M. of Enola; a daughter, Patricia A. Haslam of Carlisle; a brother, John F. Peifer Jr. of Shiremanstown; a sister, Thelma M. Ernest of Camp Hill; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Howard A. Kerstetter officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hampden Township.
There will be no viewing; however, friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

William E. King, 79, of 381 N. 19th St., Camp Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born July 21, 1918 in Toledo, Ohio, he was a son of the late Luroy and Catherine Von Rausch King.
Mr. King was retired from Murray Associates Architects, Harrisburg.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill, where he was an Eucharistic minister and usher. He also was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity from the University of Toledo; Serra Club of Harrisburg; honorary life member of Knights of Columbus, Council 10685, and past Faithful Navigator and District Warden of Bishop J.S. Shanahan Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
He was a longtime volunteer with Keystone Area Council Boy Scouts of America and Boy Scout Troop 58 of his church. He was a recipient of the St. George Award, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth F. King; a son, the Very Rev. William J. of Camp Hill; and a sister, Marjorie Gillooly of Toledo, Ohio.
Mass of Christian burial will be concelebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, with his son as principal celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, and from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
