Dorothy S. Nell, 77, of 1 Longsdorf Way, Carlisle, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997 at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Center, South Middleton Township.
Born July 31, 1920 in Mt. Holly Springs, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. and Katherine M. Martin Sheaffer and the widow of George L. Nell Sr., who died Nov. 4, 1961.
Mrs. Nell retired in 1983 from the Cumberland County Nursing Home after 30 years of service as a registered nurse.
A graduate of Carlisle High School and Germantown Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, she was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Golden Age Club and AARP, all in Carlisle. She was a founding member of the Carlisle Swim Club.
Survivors are two sons, George L. Jr. of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla. and David A. of Warren; a sister, Betty S. Davis of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. William C. Jacobs officiating.
Burial will be at St. Patrick's New Cemetery, North Middleton Township. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to a favorite charity.

Funeral services for Doris Grace Maxine Russell, 66, of 298 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Corpus Christi Cemetery, Chambersburg.
She died Monday, Oct. 13, 1997 at her home in Gullford.
Born Feb. 28, 1931 in Knoxville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Mabel Boothe Van Wey.
A 1949 graduate of Jefferson Union High School in Knoxville and a homemaker, she was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Ladies Auxiliary of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 of VFW, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bert J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, all of Chambersburg.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald W. Russell; four daughters, Brenda Jackson of Grand Junction, Colo., Ruth Heiman and Martha Russell of Chambersburg and Mary Sauinier, of Fort Levenworth, Kan.; four sons, Adam of Buckley, Wash., John, Benjamin and Ronald II, all of Chambersburg; a brother, Carl Van Wey of Tempe, Ariz.; and 25 grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Van Wey, and a brother, Robert Van Wey.
The Rev. Daniel F. Lawler will officiate at Friday's services. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing. The date of a memorial mass will be announced. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Floyd "Nick" Bauserman Jr., 77, a resident of Franklin County Nursing Home, Chambersburg, and formerly of Shippensburg, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 in the home.
Born Oct. 16, 1920 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Floyd Sr. and Zora Hall Bauserman and the widow of Pearl Cool Bauserman, who died Dec. 11, 1994.
A Protestant, he was retired as a fire and police dispatcher for Cumberland County. He previously worked at the former Henry's Bakery and was also a fire and police dispatcher in Shippensburg.
He is survived by six sons, Joseph D. of Imperial, Mo., John L. of Keytesville, Mo., Richard E., Donald A., Robert L. and George E., all of Shippensburg; three daughters, Dorothy L. Kurtz of Shippensburg, Betty J. Clark of Kenna, W.Va. and Jo Anne Lehman of Hendersonville, N.C.; a sister, Martha Lehman of Chambersburg; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg with the Rev. Gary Keefer officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.
Friends may call Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jaime Elizabeth Keller, 20, of 381 Shady Lane, Carlisle died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 in the Polyclinic Medical Center in Harrisburg.
Born June 9, 1977 in Carlisle, she attended Cedar Run School in Camp Hill and she also attended the Center for Industrial Training in Mechanicsburg. She was a member of the Brethren in Christ Church in Carlisle.
She is survived by her parents, Robert C. and Bernous L. Hare Keller, with whom she lived; a brother, Luke A. Keller at home; a sister, Jennifer S. Keller at home; maternal grandparents, Vernon W. and Phoebe Kelly Hare of Landisburg; and maternal great-grandmother, Ida Hare of Carlisle.
Graveside services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Kutz's Church Cemetery in Middlesex Township with the Rev. Kenneth O. Hoke officiating.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Brethren in Christ Church, 1155 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle with Rev. Kenneth O. Hoke officiating.
There will be no viewing. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 55 S. Progress Ave., Harrisburg 17109.

A memorial mass for Gladys J. LaRocca, 78, of 170 W. Pomfret St., Carlisle, will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Shrine Church, 140 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle.
She died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 at Carlisle Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Nell George.
She was a graduate of Pratt Institute of Technology and worked as a registered dietician in New York City. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and was a former volunteer for a hospital, the Red Cross, and Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene W. LaRocca of Carlisle; three sons, Eugene Jr. of Millersburg, Robert of Franklin and Mark of Carlisle; three daughters, Julie Donnelly of Fairfax, Va., Mary Stazsko and Lisa Erickson-McCarren, both of Carlisle; a sister, Leslie Kansas of California; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia Society or her church.

Memorial services for Elsie F. Spanier, 83, of ManorCare Health Services, South Middleton Township, formerly of Chambersburg, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, in Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, 135 Middle Spring Road, Shippensburg.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997 in ManorCare.
Born March 30, 1914 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Anna B. Bistron Kriever and the widow of John A. Spanier.
Mrs. Spanier was a graduate of Leetsdale High School, Leetsdale, and Pittsburgh School of Business. She was a retired employee of C. Scott Seltzer Insurance Co., Philadelphia.
She was a member of Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg.
Surviving are her daughter, Eileen S. Moore of Shippensburg; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The Rev. James Richwine will officiate at Sunday's service.
There will be no viewing; however, friends may call following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, is handling arrangements.

Services for George Cekovich, 72, of Silver Spring Township, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Musselman Funeral Home, 324 Hummel Ave., Lemoyne.
He died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 in West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Pennsboro Township.
Born April 3, 1925 in Enola, he was a son of the late Mike and Sophia Cekovich.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Cekovich was retired from the former Mechanicsburg Defense Depot, Hampden Township.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Enola; and American Legion Post 109 and NARFE Groups 1816 and 1465, all of Mechanicsburg.
Surviving are his wife, Florence V. Cekovich; one son, Gary N. of Enola; one daughter, Cheryl A. Baker of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Eli of Enola; one sister, Ann Wilson of Shermans Dale; and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Eric N. Anderson will officiate at Monday's service. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Arthur C. Wise, 85, formerly of 126 N. Middlesex Road, Middlesex Township, died Friday, Oct. 17, 1997 in Church of God Home, North Middleton Township.
Born March 9, 1912 in Middlesex Township, he was a son of the late I. Raymond and Anna Bell Clouser Wise.
A retired farmer, thrasher and corn sheller in Middlesex Township, Mr. Wise also had been employed by Cumberland County Board of View. After retiring, he was a school bus driver for Cumberland Valley School District.
He was a charter member of Bonnybrook Riding Club and a member of Middlesex United Methodist Church and the national AARP.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mary Preston Wise; one brother, Howard L. of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Revs. Gene W. McCallips and J. Roy Bower officiating.
Burial will be in Kutz's Cemetery, Middlesex Township.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 N. Middlesex Road, Carlisle, Pa. 17013.
