He died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born March 21, 1907 in State College, he was the son of the late Philip D. and Olive Bertha Haupt Foster and the widower of Mae M. McLaughlin Foster.
A U.S. Army veteran, he was a prisoner of war for 20 months during World War II, when he was captured by the Germans in Italy.
Mr. Foster was a retired representative of the Social Security Administration. He also worked as a gentleman farmer and was a 1929 graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
He is survived by a son, Philip D. Foster of Lewisberry, and three grandsons.

Memorial services for Gene R. Girouard, 56, of Carroll Township and formerly of Duncannon, will be held at the convenience of the family.
He died Friday, Oct. 17, 1997 at his home.
Born Jan. 10, 1941 in Hartford, Conn. to Roland A. Sr. and Estelle Packa Girouard, he was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and a former employee of Rohrer Bus Co. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.
Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Arthur F. and Roland A. Jr. of Windsor, Conn. and Bernard "Jerry" Girouard of Unionville, Conn; two sisters, Phyllis Dawkins and Marian St. Andrew, both of Harford, Conn.
Memorials can be made to a children's organization of the donor's choice.

Services for Helen B. Fleming, 88, of 1095 York Road, Dillsburg, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg.
She died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997 at Manor Care Health Services, Carlisle.
Born Nov. 2, 1908 in Franklin Township, York County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Franklintown United Brethren in Christ Church.
Mrs. Fleming was the widow of the late Leroy Koser and Bruce H. Fleming.
She is survived by a stepson, Paul Fleming of New Cumberland; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Detter of Wellsville and Ethel Wallace of East Berlin; a brother, Boyd Diller of Enola; six step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Her pastor, the Rev. Charles C. Milliken, will officiate at Saturday's services. Burial will be in the Dillsburg Cemetery.

James G. Case, 70, of 1317 N. Pitt St., Carlisle died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997 in the home of his daughter in Mechanicsburg.
Born May 13, 1927 in Erie, he was the son of the late C. Glenn and Mildred Heinz Case and was the widower of Mary M. Devereux Case.
He retired from Cumberland County Nursing Home, where he was fiscal director. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Gannon College, Erie and a master's degree from Niagara University, Niagara Falls, New York.
Mr. Case was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Elks Lodge 578 of Carlisle, the National Association of Accountants and PACA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, June Park; three daughters, Susan M. Constant of Pittsburgh, Kathrynn C. Hammaker of Mechanicsburg and Jane R. Case of Tampa, Fla.; a son, William G. Case of Cortland, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle with the Rev. Gerald J. Kole officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Mary's.

Born Jan. 25, 1910 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Edward M. and Pearl Thrush Steigleman and the widow of Robert D. Delp, who died June 23, 1994.
She was a Protestant who resided all her life in the Carlisle area.
Mrs. Delp is survived by a sister, Maxine Reed of Harrisburg, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Negley and Esther Rosenberger.
The Rev. Charles D. Zitzman will officiate at Thursday's services. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.

Born March 2, 1921 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Hallie Spillman Ezzo. She attended Allison United Methodist Church in Carlisle.
The former office manager for the law firm of Saidis and Guido in Carlisle, she was a 1939 graduate of West High School and had attended business college for two years in Columbus.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Marvin L. Yeager; a son David M. Yeager of Boca Raton, Fla.; two daughters, Jan Y. Firestone of Mechanicsburg and Joan E. Boudreau of Duluth, Ga.; a brother, John R. Ezzo of Grove City, Ohio; a sister Doris J. Williams of Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, North Middleton Township. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Richard J. Hallett, 72, of 5231 Terrace Road, Hampden Township, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born Dec. 17, 1924 in Altoona, he was a son of the late Harry and Cecelia Plummer Hallett.
Mr. Hallett was retired from Henkles & McCoy, Strinestown.
He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 126; BPO Elks, West Shore Lodge 2257; American Legion; and was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Marie Bland Hallett; a daughter, Deborah A. Sterling of Mechanicsburg; a son, Jay M. of Carlisle; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Harry.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Steven D. Dorsett officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Township.

I. Elwood Nelson, 67, of 29 Mt. Rock Road, Newville, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997 in Harrisburg Hospital.
Born May 19, 1930 in Newville, he was a son of the late Ira Lehman and Viola Mae Forney Nelson and the widower of Donna Mendenhall Nelson.
Mr. Nelson was a retired employee of Fickes Silo, Newville.
Surviving are his daughter, Kimberly K. Conrad of New Bloomfield; a son, Jeffrey W. of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Irvin and H. Mac, both of Newville; and two grandchildren.
