He died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997 in Grantville.
Born July 7, 1939 in Grantville, he was a son of the late Jacob B. and Sadie E. Miller Seaman.
He was the owner of Seaman's Market Inc., Grantville, from 1974 until present. He was formerly employed by Nabisco Inc. as a sales representative from 1970 to 1989.
He was a member of Ono United Methodist Church and was a Post High Sunday School teacher, Lay Witness Mission Ministry and Promise Keepers leader. He also was a member of Associated Wholesalers Inc. and Food Marketing Institute.
He was a lifetime member of Grantville Volunteer Fire Company, East Hanover Historical Society and Hershey Historical Society, and was a charter member of Lebanon County Sertoma Club.
Surviving are his wife, Elta Nolt Seaman; a daughter, Rebecca L. Single of Carlisle; two sons, David R. of Elizabethtown and Andrew J. of Grantville; a brother, Melvin R. of Grantville; his stepmother, Barbara Ogurcak Seaman of Grantville; and one granddaughter.
There will be no viewing; however, friends may call following the memorial service. Buse Funeral Home, Shellsville, is handling arrangements.

Services for Ruth Ana Tomsa, 55, of 155 Salem Church Road, Hampden Township, be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Myers Funeral Home, 37 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997, in her home.
Born Aug. 11, 1942, in Lemoyne, she was a daughter of Mary Isabelle Hosler Pechart and the late Lawerence Wilbur Pechart.
She was a member of American Legion Post 109 Auxiliary, Mechanicsburg.
In addition to her mother, surviving are two sons, Donald E. Meyers Jr. of Dillsburg and Timothy R. Meyers of Mechanicsburg; three daughters, Barbara Ann Doolittle of Elliottsburg, Sherry Lynn Brooks of Marysville and Teresa Louise Hart of Mechanicsburg; four brothers, Lawerence W. Pechart Jr. of New Kingstown, Kenneth L. Pechart and Michael L. Pechart, both of Mechanicsburg and Charles E. Pechart of Dillsburg; four sisters, Margaret Mackey of Florida, Jean Phillips and Brenda L. Nye, both of Shiremanstown and Judy Myers of Mechanicsburg; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hampden Township.

Mass of Christian burial for retired Col. Alfred J. Catania, 77, of 1114 Linn Drive, Carlisle, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at Carlisle Barracks.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997 in Carlisle Hospital.
Col. Catania retired in 1974 after serving with the U.S. Army as an officer for 32 years; he was a veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. He landed with the first wave on the beaches of Normandy during the D-Day invasion and was wounded during the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir in Korea, for which he received a Purple Heart.
He served as a military advisor in Vietnam during the war, including the Tet Offensive. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing with his grandchildren and traveling to visit relatives. He also participated in reunions of "The Chosin Few," a military organization.
His many medals included the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Service, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf cluster, Joint Service Commendation, Army Commendation, Purple Heart, Croix de Guerre with Palm, American Defense Service, American Campaign, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign with Arrowhead, World War II Victory, Army Occupation, National Defense Service with Oak Leaf Cluster, Korean Service, Vietnam Service, Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Service, United Nations Service and Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Joint Service Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Service, Republic of Vietnam Campaign, Armed Forces Reserve, Meritorious Unit Citation and six Overseas Service Bars, along with numerous citations and other awards from the Korean and Vietnam governments.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marie Mathonet Catania; a son, Philip Catania of Arlington, Va.; a daughter, Cirina Catania of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Jennie Bianco of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Concetta McLaurin of Charlotte, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Andrew J. Fontanella will be the celebrant at Tuesday's mass. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Friends may call at the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday where a Rosary Service will be recited at 8 p.m.

He died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997 in the Manor Care Nursing Home, Carlisle.
Born Oct. 27, 1928 in Newport, he was a son of the late George and Ethel Stroup Hoffman.
He retired from Masland Industries with 35 years of service. He was a member of Reibers Community Church, Shermans Dale Fire Company and Shermans Dale Ambulance Association.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Fern A. Baer Hoffman; two sons, Dean and Alan Hoffman, both at home; two daughters, Dawn Trout and Jill Bowersox, both of Shermans Dale; two half-brothers, Benjamin Turnbaugh of Newport and William Turnbaugh of Carlisle; a sister, Betty Wallace of Shermans Dale; three half-sisters Donna Stone, of New Bloomfield, Ruth Kitner and Mary Smiley, both of Shermans Dale; and three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark E. Hoffman.

Born August 20, 1968 in Santa Clara, Calif., a son of Ronald J. and Narvia A. Riles Bostick, he attended St. Mary High School in Bismark, N.D., graduated from Trinity High School in Shiremanstown in 1986 and graduated from Penn State University, Harrisburg Campus.
Mr. Bostick was employed at G.S. Electric, Carlisle as a mechanical engineer. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and Blessed Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Randy Bostick of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Ronique Carter of Mechanicsburg and Robyne Bostick of Nashville, Tenn.; and maternal grandparents, Wilson and Louise Riles, of Sacramento, Calif.
The Rev. James R. O'Brien will be celebrant at Monday's services. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Township.

He died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997 in Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sept. 19, 1910 in Southampton Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Edward and Nancy Wenger Diehl.
For 30 years he was a dairy farmer, retiring in 1968. Following his retirement from farming he worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture as a dog law officer in Franklin County for 13 1/2 years.
He previously worked for PennDOT as a timekeeper.
He was a graduate of Shippensburg High School and the former Beckley Business College, Harrisburg. He was a member of New Covenant Tabernacle and the 1910 Club, Shippensburg.
He is survived by his wife Pauline E. Shoop Diehl; two sons. Larry A. and Gary L. of Shippensburg; five daughters, Irene N. Gott of Treasure Island, Fla., Beverly A. Rosenberry of Seminole, Fla., Christine E. Groce of Midwest City, Okla., Pamela S. Shank, of Escondido, Calif. and Brigitte T. Gregg of Shippensburg; 13 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Lillian T. Finkenbinder, 66, of 232 Greason Road, Plainfield, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997 in Carlisle Hospital.
Born April 13, 1931 in Holyoke, Mass, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Cleary Fitzgerald.
A 1948 graduate of St. Jerome's High School in Holyoke, she was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Carlisle and Ashford Kitting Club in Greason.
She retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in 1993 after 17 years of service.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard G. Finkenbinder; two sons, Richard R. of Carlisle and Michael J. of Newville; two daughters, Carol B. Finkey of Carlisle and Cristeen L. Bitner of Newville; a sister, Claire R. Mahoney of Holyoke; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Tri Minh Luong officiating.
