She died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997 at Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village.
She was born Oct. 17, 1905 in Menallen Township, Adams County, a daughter of the late Daniel M. and Daisy C. Weigle Hoffman and the widow of Gilbert Culp, who died in 1944.
She was a self-employed seamstress most of her life.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Arendtsville, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Arendtsville Fire Company and the Upper Adams Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a sister, Helen Dainty of Gettysburg, and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Martin J. Carlson will officiate at Friday's services. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Arendtsville.

Retired Chief Warrant Officer David E. Kelly, 77, of Seward, formerly of Newburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997 at Lee Hospital.
He was born Sept. 28, 1920 in Seward, the son of the late Charles A. and Margaret H. Rager Kelly. He was a graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1938.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, he retired after 20 years of service in the Quartermaster Corp. He also was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier after 17 years of service.
Mr. Kelly was a member of Armagh United Methodist Church, VFW Post 734 of Ligonier, American Legion Byers-Tosh Post 267 of Ligonier, Retired Officers' Association, 29th Division Association, and the U.S. Merchant Mariners.
He is survived by two sons, Michael C. Kelly of Carlisle; Sgt. Maj. US Army Ret. David E. Kelly of Port St. Joe, Fla; two daughters, Margaret H. Kelly of Armagh and Abigail W. McGinnis of Seward; a brother, Clyde A. of Seward; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant sister Flornell and three brothers, Charles A., Jack R., and Curtis W. Kelly.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. John E. Flower Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
Diane L. Michaels, 56, 1327 Baltimore Road, Shippensburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997 in Chambersburg Hospital.
Born June 24, 1941 in Chambersburg, she is the daughter of M. Louise Rhone Heberlig, Chambersburg and the late Ernest B. Heberlig.
Retired in 1993 from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, she was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and First Court Chapter 470 Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Bobby E. Michaels, and a daughter, Kim D. Michaels of Churchville, Md.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Grace United Church of Christ with the Rev. Ernest N. Rumbaugh Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Friends may call Friday at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.

Born April 4, 1955, the son of the late Allen H. and Arlene Crost, he was a retired truck driver and a former employee of Leb Arnold Trucking Co.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Miller of Landisburg and Brenda Miller of New Bloomfield; a stepson, Scott Kerstetter of Altoona; a stepdaughter, Tina Patrick of Delaware; a brother, John Miller of Lemoyne; a sister, Joan Gale of Pittsburgh; two stepbrothers, Gilbert and Daniel Miller, both of Mechanicsburg; and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Larry Bidwell will officiate at Friday's services. Interment will be in Restland Cemetery, Loysville.

She died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997 in Lurgan Township, Franklin County as a result of an automobile-carriage accident.
Born Dec. 7, 1990 in Mt. Joy Township, Adams County, she is a daughter of Daniel J. and Suzanne Lantz Stoltzfus. She was a first grade student at the Otterbein School, Newburg.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Benjamin R. Stoltzfus; three sisters, Miriam A. Stoltzfus, Elizabeth R. Stoltzfus and Anna R. Stoltzfus, all at home; paternal grandparents, Moses S. and Elizabeth Stoltzfus of Wayne County, Ind.; maternal grandparents, Ben K. and Bena S. Lantz of Newburg; maternal great-grandmothers, Eva Kauffman of Newburg and Sarah Lantz of Myerstown.
Burial will be in Mountainview Amish Cemetery, Lurgan Township, Franklin County. For religious reasons, the family requests the omission of flowers.

She was born March 12, 1923 in Mt. Holly Springs, a daughter of the late Gordon and Alva Marie Warner Rupp and the widow of Harry Sherman and William Wesley Sowers.
Mrs. Sowers was retired from the former Sylvania Shoe Co. She was a member of Mt. Holly Springs Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Dolphin Ministry at the Mt. Holly Springs United Methodist Church, and a life member of the VFW Post 7343 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survived by three sons, William D. Sowers of St. Thomas, Pa., John E. Sowers of Harrisburg and Harry G. Armolt of Mt. Holly Springs; two daughters, Naomi Bodkins of New Hampshire and Karen Sowers of Pratt, Vt.; a sister, Gertrude R. McKillip of Mechanicsburg; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces.

Born Aug. 3, 1908 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Adam and Nellie Ausherman Knepper.
A retired farmer, Mr. Knepper was a member of Grantham Brethren in Christ Church and a former deacon of Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mae E. Pyke Knepper; a son, Nelson of Camp Hill; seven daughters, Janet Niesley of York, Sylvia Nichols of Studio City, Calif., Pauline Potteiger of New Kingstown, Fern Musser of Upland, Calif., Lois Wolgemuth of Mechanicsburg, Beth Knepper of Fresno, Calif., and Anita Stern of Pleasant Hill, Ohio; a foster daughter, Pearl Weuschinski of Collingdale; four brothers, Paul of Lexington, N.C., Lewis and Abner, both of Chambersburg and Joseph of Leola; a sister, Miriam Stern of Philadelphia; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Born Sept. 15, 1907 in Duncannon, he was a son of the late Josiah C. and Mary M. Wevodau Manning and the widower of Nellie Pines Manning.
Mr. Manning was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Co.
He was a member of Perry Lodge 458 F&AM of Marysville; Harrisburg Consistory; VFW Post 255 of Duncannon; PUB Pool team; a canteen member of American Legion Post 340 of Duncannon; and Duncannon High School Alumni Association.
Surviving are his stepson, Robert K. Pines of York, and four step-grandchildren.
The Rev. Dorothy H. Mitchell will officiate at Friday's service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.
