Obituaries by LocationG. Mary Perkins, 92, of Lower Paxton Township, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997 in Hershey Medical Center.
Born Nov. 16, 1904 in England, she was the widow of James Charles Perkins.
Mrs. Perkins was retired from the Board of National Missions Presbyterian Church, New York City, and also had been employed as a housekeeper for many area residents.
She was a member of Paxton Presbyterian Church, its Ladies Circle No. 2 and St. Mark's Lutheran Church senior citizens' group.
Surviving are one daughter, Dorothy M. Boullianne of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara J. Scheiner.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Paxton Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John S. Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Fannie S. Goodhart, 96, of Shippensburg Health Care Center, formerly of Walnut Bottom, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997 in the center.
Born Oct. 20, 1901 in South Newton Township, she was a daughter of the late Abram and Edith Boughman Seavers.
Retired from Beistle Company, Shippensburg, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom.
Surviving are two daughters, Miriam G. Mitten and M. Carolyn Walker, both of Walnut Bottom; one son, Jack D. Wyrick of Shippensburg; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, with the Rev. Deborah Heisley-Cato officiating. Burial will be in Rehobeth Cemetery, South Newton Township.

Charles Y. Petty Sr., 73, of Carlisle, died Saturday in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 14, 1924, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Jessie Reggleton Petty.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps as a sergeant in the 949th Air Engineering Squadron 523rd Air Service Group. He was part of the Tuskegee experiment in World War II. Mr. Petty served in Africa, Sicily and Italy providing maintenance support for bombers flown by black pilots of the 332nd fighter group.
He was employed by the federal government at the Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown until the base closed in 1965. He was then transferred to the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Base where he retired in June 1981 after 38 years of government service.
After that he worked at the Robert Baish Auto Body Shop just south of Carlisle.
Mr. Petty was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Carlisle. He also was a member of the Haines-Stackfield American Legion Post No. 826 in Carlisle.
Surviving is his wife, Betty M. Hinton Petty, to whom he was married for 51 years; two sons, Charles Y. Petty Jr. and Ernest L. Petty, both of Carlisle; three daughters, Charlotte L. Brock and Lisa M. Christopher, both of Carlisle, and Judith A. Smallwood of South Lake, Texas; a brother, Ernest L. Petty and a sister, Doris Petty, both of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvette M. Petty, who died in 1970.
Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Carlisle, with the Rev. Dr. William E. Jones Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the veterans section of the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in West Pennsboro Township.
Friends may call Wednesday afternoon at the church from noon until 1:30 p.m.

Walter E. Wolf, 80, of Forest Park Nursing Home and formerly of Dillsburg, died Thursday evening at the home.
Born Jan. 22, 1917 in Dillsburg, he was the son of the late George W. and Elda M. Wolf.
He was the widower of Grace I. Leathery Wolf.
He was a retired construction worker for Hempt Brothers for 50 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Judith E. Floto-Cook, Harrisburg, Beverly J. Detter and Diane I. Barker, both of Dillsburg; one sister, Mary Moose, Doylestown, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Cocklin Funeral Home, Dillsburg, with the Rev. Troy Howell officiating. Burial will be in the Dillsburg Cemetery.

Charlotte H. Strayer, 74, of 2536 Maclays Mill Road, Shippensburg, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Lewistown, Mifflin County. She was a daughter of the late Harold I. and Edythe E. Duck Harper. She was the widow of Raymond E. "Ditty" Strayer, who died Dec. 16, 1984.
She was a graduate of the Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing and a 1940 graduate of the Yeagerstown High School.
She was employed by the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, as an R.N. in the health clinic.
She was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223, Shippensburg, and a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy S. Tomczak, Shippensburg; a sister, Bernice Wagner, Shippensburg; a brother, Harold A. Harper, Lewistown; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Charlotte Zeigler and Patricia Strayer; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg, with the Rev. Bonnie B. Hoffman officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.

Richard E. Stoner, 80, of 824 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill, formerly of New Cumberland, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born Jan. 17, 1917, he was the son of the late Calvin R. and Bessie C. (Baer) Stoner.
Mr. Stoner was a retired owner/operator of Pierre's Cafe, Fairview Township and Lisburn General Store, Lisburn.
He was the current as well as past president of Fairview Township Lions Club where he was a Melvin Jones Fellow and was honored as a former Lion of the Year and for perfect attendance since 1954.
Stoner was also a member of William S. Snyder Lodge Number 756, Harrisburg; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Temple, Harrisburg; Cumberland County Shrine Club; social member of VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland; Mechanicsburg Club; Steelton Moose Lodge Number 382; and Fishing Creek Community Association, Fairview Township.
Surviving are his daughter, Suzanne Coffey of New Cumberland; a son, Richard E. Stoner II of Waynesboro, Va.; a sister, Freda B. Gastrock of Hyattsville, Md., a brother, Larry J. Stoner of New Cumberland; and two grandchildren.
Pastor John DeNicola, chaplain/director of the Woods at Cedar Run will officiate at service at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township.

Janet O. Alleman, 67, of 9856 Upper Strasburg Road, Upper Strasburg died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.
Born May 2, 1930 in Pleasant Hall she was the daughter of the Late Lloyd and Clementine Brown Hoover.
A homemaker, she also worked at the Beistle Co., Shippensburg and for Knouse Foods, Chambersburg.
Mrs. Alleman was a member of Upper Strasburg United Methodist Church, a former Sunday school teacher and an assistant superintendent of the Junior Church.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Clifford S. Alleman of Upper Strasburg; two daughters, Teresa R. Alleman of Shippensburg; Trudy O. Alleman of Orrstown; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg with the Rev. Earl F. Barrick officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Viewing will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to the services.
Clyde L. Ash, 60, of 60 Rowpath Road, Duncannon died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997 at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
Born Nov. 11, 1936 in Rogers, Arkansas he was the son of the late Lee Clabern Ash.
He was a retired asbestos worker for Asbestos Workers Local 23; part-time employee of Keystone Auto Auction, Dauphin; former owner of Ash's Sales and Service; and a member of New Buffalo Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sheetz Ash; four sons, Clayton H. Ash of Enola; Wesley E. Ash of Mechanicsburg; Vernon L. Ash of Meridian, Mississippi; Douglas C. Ash of Newport; his mother, Goldie M. Ash of Enola; two brothers, Jerry E. Ash of Enola; David P. Ash of Middletown; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at his church, R.D. 4 Duncannon.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.
Viewing will be Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 325 N. High St., Duncannon, and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor David Gouak will officiate.
