She died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997 in Carlisle Hospital.
Born March 24, 1919 in Newville, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Margaret Rebecca Wagner Mohler.
She was employed as a presser at U-Wanna-Wash-Frocks and Swaim Health Center, both of Newville. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Newville and its Sunshine class.
She is survived by her husband, S. Amos Souder Jr.; three sons, Calvin A., Ernest J. and Richard L., all of Newville; a daughter, Mary Anne Pelletier of Newville; two brothers, John Mohler of Carlisle and Ralph Mohler of Newville; six sisters, Grace Lehman, Ruth Heckendorn and Kate Wert of Newville, Mildred Selders and Dorothy Barkley of Carlisle, and Lu Dick of Boiling Springs; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Souder, who died in 1992 and a sister, Margaret Chronister.
The Rev. Greg Beach will officiate at Wednesday's services. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 12 until 1 p.m.
Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

Funeral services for M. Dice Statler, 77, of Luther Ridge, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Salem Lutheran Church, Marion.
He died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997 in Luther Ridge after a lengthy illness.
Born July 19, 1920 in Guilford Township, he was the son of the late John M. and O. Ruth Dice Statler.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, where he was a former Sunday school teacher, council member and supervisor of the church Cemetery.
He was a member of George Washington Lodge 143 F&AM, Junior OUAM, was a former director of the F&M Trust Co. and the Maryland Milk Producers, and served on the Holly Milk Board.
Engaged in dairy farming all his life, he received a Master Farmer Award in 1972 and later received the National Soil Conservation Award.
He founded and was past president of Chambersburg Farm Service, was active in Franklin County Extension, and was a member of the Guilford Township School Authority.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta Keefer Statler; a daughter, Susan Riley of Newtown Square; a brother, Ronald K. of Chambersburg; and three grandchildren.
The Rev. Warren Heintzelman will officiate at Saturday's services. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

Funeral services for Geneva B. Sunday, 84, of Messiah Village, formerly of Camp Hill, will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Silver Springs Presbyterian Church.
She died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997.
Born Dec. 24, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Theron and Addie E. VanOrmer Brandt and the widow of Frank Sunday.
She was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and was also a beautician. She was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mrs. Sunday was a member of Silver Springs Presbyterian Church and Mechanicsburg American Legion Post 109.
She is survived by a brother, Kenneth L. Brandt of Pasadena, Md. and many nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Jay Walters will officiate at Thursday's services. Burial will be in Silver Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

He died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997 at home.
Born Oct. 19, 1921 in Southampton Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Sherman and Ethel Shoop Vaughn.
He retired in 1985 from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg where he worked for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Vaughn was a member of Mongul United Brethren Church, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and a life member of Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne Ewan Vaughn; a son, Richard D. of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two daughters, Barbara A. Fulton of Tucson, Ariz. and Rena J. Edwards of Chambersburg; a brother, Donald of Marysville; a sister, Hazel Caudill of Shippensburg; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Vaughn, and six brothers.
The Rev. Richard J. Fischl will officiate at Thursday's services. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mongul Cemetery, Southampton Township, Franklin County. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion posts.

Laverne J. Baker, 80, formerly of Channel Drive, Carlisle, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997 in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
Born March 14, 1917 in Dillsburg, he was a son of the late Jacob and Annie Barrett Baker and the widower of Estella N. Whitcomb Baker, who died in 1992.
A former member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, he was employed at C. H. Masland and Sons, Carlisle, and was a former school bus driver for South Middleton Township.
Mr. Baker attended Waggoners United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Friendship Fire Co., Carlisle, where he was the first paid resident driver, and he was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Carlisle.
He is survived by two sons, Robert E. and Edward of Carlisle; two daughters, Donna K. Baker and Trudy A. Harper of Carlisle; his twin brother, Harry Baker of Carlisle; a sister, Pauline Eckard of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle with the Rev. William A. Groff and the Rev. Tom Willard officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., is in charge of the arrangements.

Wayne E. Calaman, 70, of 204 W. North St., Carlisle died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1997 in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
Born April 28, 1927 in Carlisle, son of the late Ira J. and Romaine March Calaman, he was of the Protestant faith.
A self-employed painter in the Carlisle area, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors are a son, Gregory W. of Newville; a daughter, Cheryl D. Karper of Newville; four brothers, Dale Kenneth and Harold of Carlisle and Harry of Portsmith, N.H.; two sisters, Helen Nelson of Shippensburg and Jean Hinkle of Carlisle; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township, Lebanon County, on Dec. 2 at 11 a.m.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements.

Kyle C. Goodling, 5, of 38 Ashley Drive, Dillsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997 at home.
Born July 1, 1992 in Wheaton, Ill. to Barry G. and Beverly A. Hershey Goodling, he attended West Shore Evangelical Free Church, Mechanicsburg.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, B. Daniel Goodling, and a sister, Laura B. Goodling, both at home; paternal grandparents, Robert and Barbara Goodling of Richfield; maternal granparents, Art and Joyce Hershey of Cochranville; and his maternal great-grandmother, Irma B. Hoober of Lititz.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in West Shore Evangelical Free Church with Dr. Phillip R. Thorne officiating. Private burial will be in Grantham Memorial Park.
A private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family. Cocklin Funeral Home, Dillsburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Shank Heberlig, 82, of Newville, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997 in Swaim Health Center, Newville.
Born Oct. 17, 1915 in North Newton Township, she was a daughter of the late Murray B. and Rosa Shoap Shank and the widow of Clarence S. Heberlig, who died in 1956.
A dietary supervisor at the Forest Park Nursing Home, she was a 1932 graduate of Shippensburg High School and she received a certificate of basic education institution management from Messiah College in 1975.
Mrs. Heberlig was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, its woman's group and the Altar Guild, and a past matron of Oswald Taylor chapter 54, Forest Park Auxilary and the AARP in Carlisle.
She is survived by a daughter, Dolores Reid of Newville, with whom she lived; two sons, Edgar of Newville and Jack of Vienna, Va.; three sisters, Martha Peduzzi and Ann Brough of Carlisle and Helen Campane of Southampton; a brother, Robert Shank of Stafford, Va.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, Newville with the Rev. K. Robert Shmitt officiating. Order of Eastern Star services will be Saturday at 1:45 p.m.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. in the church. Arrangements are by Egger Funeral Home, Newville.
