Retired as a federal library clerk, she was a member of the Golden Age Club, AARP, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Disabled American Veterans and Salvation Army Senior Action Center.
The widow of Nicholas Denkovich, she is survived by two daughters, JoAnne August of Carlisle and Jeanne Wilson of Patterson, N.J.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg.

Elmer E. Shaffer, 87, of 525 Shippensburg Road, Biglerville, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at Gettysburg Hospital.
Born Dec. 16, 1909 in York County, he was the son of the late Martin and Carrie Singley Shaffer.
A member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Orrtanna, he was employed by Baltzley Fruit Farms and the C.H. Musselman Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1974.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hope Spence Shaffer; two daughters, Maysie E. McGlaughlin of Biglerville and Deborah H. Shelleman of Fayetteville; seven sons, Richard M., Dean V., Eugene E. and Rodney L., all of Biglerville, Clark D. of New Oxford, Timothy J. of Dillsburg and Kenneth D. of Middletown; a sister, Ethel Kepner of Fairfield; four brothers, Raymond of Chambersburg, Ivan of Rochester, N.Y., Roy of East Berlin and Kenneth of Dover; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Orrtanna, with the Rev. Dr. Colin Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in the church Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Randall B. Shettel, 84, of 5260 East Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg.
He died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997 at 903 Old Rosstown Road, Lewisberry.
He was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church and Local 287 Carpenters Union.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Bender Shettel; three sons, Jay E. of Shippensburg, Randall Jr. and Kermit of Nevada; a daughter, Nancy Clippinger of Carlisle; a stepdaughter, Lynn V. Blake of Lewisberry; a sister, Margarite Hetrick of Hershey; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997 in Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 26, 1917 in Blair County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Harriet Replogle Burket.
Mrs. Steigleman was a retired employee of the former Carlisle Shoe Co. and way a former employee of the Carlisle School District at the Intermediate High School. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Carlisle.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, George F. Steigleman; three brothers, Elvin Burket and Kenneth Burket, both of Martinsburg and Edward Burket of Grantham; and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Edward L. Poling will officiate at Tuesday's services. Burial will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.
There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Ethel M. Wise DiLeo, 92, of Lemoyne, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
Born Feb. 21, 1905 in Fawn Grove, York County, she was a daughter of the late William and Jane Kauffman Wise and the widow of Charles M. DiLeo.
She was a retired clerk for the former People's Drug Store, Lemoyne, and a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura J. Ebeling of Camp Hill; a brother, Herbert Wise of Fawn Grove; three sisters, Helen Ruff of Lancaster, Ellen Wilson of Westminster, Md. and Mary Robert of Cardiff, Md.; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Robert Graybill officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Lower Paxton Township. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Born July 20, 1917 in Lurgan Township, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur A. Sr. and Nellie C. Stouffer Brenize.
Mrs. Mowery was a member of Newburg First Church of God, the Jollies Sixties Group and was formerly active in the Newburg Area 4-H Program.
Surviving are her husband, Victor R. Mowery; a son, Donald R. of Newburg; a daughter, Janet C. Mowery of Waynesboro; two sisters, Vera Swartz of Newburg and Ruth Snoke of Shippensburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
The Rev. Michael S. Smith, the Rev. K. Hull Byers and the Rev. Stanley Rexroth will officiate at Friday's service. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery, Lurgan Township.
