He was a self-employed carpenter and painter.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Carlisle.
Surviving are one son, Jerry L. of Newville; three daughters, Linda S. Miller, Cynthia D. both of Carlisle; Teresa A. of Duncannon; four brothers, Harvey and Harry Jr. both of Carlisle; Edgar of Long Beach, Calif; Lee of York Haven; five sisters, Ruth Negley, Lottie Hurley and Helen McCalister all of Carlisle; Ethel Main of Chester, Va.; Doris Brownawell of Mt. Holly Springs; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday in Grace Baptist Church, 777 W. North St., Carlisle with the Revs. Kermit L. Minnick and Craig L. Harris officiating.
Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Monday until time of service in the church.

Richard L. Peterman, Sr., 78, of 770 Poplar Church Road., Camp Hill, formerly of Duncannon, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997 at West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, Camp Hill.
He was born Dec. 27, 1918 in Wheatfield Township., Perry County to the late Elsie Peterman.
He was a retired employee of the former Olmsted Air Force Base, Middletown, and an Army veteran of WW II.
He was a member of Duncannon Assembly of God Church.
He was a member of DAV; American Legion Post 340; Duncannon VFW Post 255; Newport Social Order of Owls and Duncannon Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Alleman Peterman, also a resident at West Shore Health and Rehab. Center, Camp Hill; one daughter, Rose M. Beavis of Duncannon; two step-daughters, Fayette Tschop of Harrisburg; Delores Wenner of Hummelstown; five sisters, Gladys Boykin of Hummelstown; Ruby Rupley of Elizabethtown; Shirley Bateman and Betty Barbour both of Harrisburg; Jean Kistler of Middletown; one brother, Earl Bitner of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Ronald Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon with the Rev. Dale Rosenberger officiating.
Burial will be in Duncannon Cemetery.
Visitation Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Harry H. Weiss Jr., 76, of 30 Strawberry Dr., Carlisle, will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle.
He died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997 in Carlisle Hospital.
Born Oct. 26, 1921 in South Bend, Ind., he was the son of the late Harry H. and Marie Speicher Weiss Sr.
A graduate of Riley High School, South Bend, Ind., Mr. Weiss was awarded a Harvard National Scholarship and received his bachelor's degree in mathematics and his MBA from Harvard in 1942 and 1946, respectively. Academic honors included a magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa and HBS Century Club.
He worked for 12 years for Pan American World Airways in Brownsville, Tex., Miami and New York City and spent the next 23 years in a variety of quantitative analysis positions. He then was employed for eight years with Pacific Tin Consolidated (now Zemex) Corp. as vice president and secretary. After retirement, Mr. Weiss served as a tax aide in the AARP tax counseling program for the elderly in Tarrytown, N.Y., and Carlisle.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle. During his prior 30 years' residency in North Tarrytown, N.Y., he was a member of Union Church of Pocantico Hills, where he served at various times as Sunday school teacher, deacon, trustee and assistant treasurer.
Surviving are his wife, Arline Tiedemann Weiss; two daughters, Ceceile Strand of Carlisle and Carol Staudter of Ossining, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Pritchard and Mary Wilson.
The Rev. Jon A. Black will officiate at Sunday's service. Burial will be in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, North Tarrytown, N.Y.

He died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Altoona.
Born Jan. 2, 1912 in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Samuel and Birdie Glomis Wohlgemuth.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Wohlgemuth was a lifetime member of Temple Beth Shalom of Greater Harrisburg, where he was a past board member, a member of the visitation committee for the ill and was active in the temple's construction.
He was also a member of Mechanicsburg Lions Club and the former Roundtable of Christians and Jews of Mechanicsburg. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Hirsch Wohlgemuth.
Rabbi Carl Choper will officiate at Sunday's service. Burial will be in Beth Shalom Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township. There will be no viewing or visitation.

A veteran of World War II, he died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997.
Surviving are his wife, Helen R. Hamilton; two sons, Robert of Spring Grove and Rickey of Raleigh, N.C.; six sisters, Ruth Miller of New Cumberland, Pauline Fanus and Betty Miller, both of Melbourne, Fla., Blondena Kramer and Miriam Eichelberger, both of Mechanicsburg, and Joyce Minnick of Newville; one brother, Charles Hamilton of Melbourne, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Born Jan. 6, 1916 in the Pleasant Hall area of Letterkenny Township, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Jacob C. and Bessie Mae Myers Mohler. She was the widow of Paul David Sword, who died Feb. 5, 1973.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda L. Stache of Shippensburg and Lucy L. Neil of Orrstown; two sons, Larry L. of Newville and Lincoln L. of Gettysburg; three brothers, Harvey W., Charles S. and John C. Mohler, all of Orrstown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Dr. Francis H. Norton will officiate at today's service. Burial will be in Pleasant Hall Cemetery, Letterkenny Township.

Nelson L. Diffenderfer, 45, of 26 State Dr., Harrisburg, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997 at Polyclinic Hospital.
Born Feb. 13, 1952 in Harrisburg, he was the son of Henry and Joan McConnell Diffenderfer, Duncannon.
A graduate of Thompson Institute, Harrisburg, Mr. Diffen-derfer was employed by Pinnacle Health System at Harrisburg Hospital. He was a member of Lower Paxton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
In addition to his parents, surviving is his wife, Vicki Stamper Diffenderfer; one son, Shannon B., at home; two sisters, Lydia Girard of Duncannon and Linda Williams of Camp Hill; and two brothers, Henry G. Jr. and Terry L. Diffenderfer, both of Duncannon.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. at his church, with Kenneth S. Tiller officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon, at the convenience of the family.

Born Oct. 14, 1914 in Turkey Creek-Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., he was a son of the late Frank and Ida Osgatharp Jones and the widower of Anna "Dinneny" Jones.
Mr. Jones was a retired electronic technician from the former Navy Depot, Hampden Township and was later employed in maintenance for St. Joseph's Church, Mechanicsburg.
He was a graduate of Temple University and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg; Loyal Order of the Moose, Carlisle; Mechanicsburg Club; Mechanicsburg VFW Post No. 6704; Mechanicsburg American Legion Post No. 109; Enola Sportsmen's Association; and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are a son, Michael L. at home; a daughter, Peggy A. Hursh of Enola; two brothers, Frank of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Zane of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Charlene Jones of Nashville; a step-sister, Elizabeth Holland of the Nashville area; and a granddaughter.
The Rev. Daniel F.X. Powell will officiate Tuesday's services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Township.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
