He was a former employee of Hoffman Mills, Shippensburg.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen Miley of Chambersburg; a brother, Harold E. of Middletown; a sister, Gloria M. Scheaffer of Shippensburg; a granddaughter, three nephews and one great-nephew.
Roger Witter will officiate at Friday's service.
Private burial will be in Air Hill Cemetery, Greene Township, Franklin County.

Services for Richard N. Lacava Sr., 74, of 126 Asselin Street, Chicopee, Mass., will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in Phaneuf-Blais Fairview Funeral Chapels, 506 Britton St., Chicopee, followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Annes Church.
He died Monday, Dec. 1, 1997 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mass.
Born March, 21, 1923 in Steelton, he was a son of the late John and Philomena Zaccardi Calman and the widower of Tessie F. Harlow Lacava, who died in 1988.
He was employed as a driver for Bertera Chrysler Plymouth, West Springfield and previously employed 18 years as a third shift foreman for the former Connecticut Printers of Bloomfield, Conn.
He lived and was schooled in New York City and traveled throughout his military career before settling in Chicopee, Mass., in 1965.
He was a communicant of Saint Anne's Catholic Church in Chicopee.
He was an Army and Air Force veteran, serving in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam era before retiring in 1966. He was the recipient of many decorations, campaign ribbons, medals and citations throughout his military career.
He was a graduate of the NCO Academy at Westover.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 353, VFW Post 525 and the Local Affiliate of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus Elder Council 69.
He was a 25 year president of the Pioneer Valley Motorcycle Club.
He belonged to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, ABATE of New York, Christian Motorcycle Association, Modified Motorcycle Association, Massachusetts Retreads, White Mountain Riders of New Hampshire and River Valley Riders of Vermont.
Surviving are his fiance, Barbara Goold Piccin; two sons, the Rev. Richard N. Jr. of Woodstock, Vt. and Charles H. of Carlisle; one daughter, Rose Marie Lacava of Springfield, Mass.; two granddaughters; and an adopted granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, John H. Lacava, who died in 1989.
Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.

Mary L. Groce Lauver, 59, of RR1 Elliottsburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997 in Stonebridge Nursing and Rehab Center, Duncannon.
Born Dec. 14, 1937 in Mifflin County near Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Alice L. Wilson Groce.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph R. Lauver, four sons, Joseph E. Jr. of New Bloomfield, Jack L. of Newport, Lloyd H. of Elliottsburg and Ronald J. of Loysville; a daughter, Tammy J. Yocum of Elliottsburg; four brothers, Jerry Booney of Milroy, John Groce and Harold Groce, both of Lewistown and William Groce of Landisburg; four sisters, Shirley Everly, Annie Groce and Deborah Walter, all of Lewistown and Sarah Walls of McClure; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Nickel Funeral Home, West Main Street, Loysville, with the Rev. Kenneth Osborne officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Vernon United Brethren Cemetery, RR1 Elliottsburg.

Philip H. Sturr, 78, of 17 Coral Drive, Carlisle, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997 in his home.
Born Jan. 16, 1919 in Pompton Lakes, N.J., he was a son of the late Jesse G. and Catherine C. Cluss Sturr.
Mr. Sturr retired after 37 years with Curtis-Wright Aeronautical Co. in Woodridge, N.J.
A 1936 graduate of Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, N.J., he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Florence L. Richmond Sturr; two sons, the Rev. Philip H. Jr. of Dillsburg and Roy W. II of Brackney; a daughter, F. Lee Janner of Lake Ariel; a sister, Violet M. Shenise of Henderson, N.C.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Philip H. Sturr Jr. officiating.

Harold W. Weigel, 88, of Carlisle died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997 at Sarah Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born May 31, 1909 near Columbia, Pa., he was the son of John Wesley and Ella R. Trump Weigel.
He was the widower of Dorothy Rawhouser Weigel, who died in 1990.After graduation from Columbia High School he earned his A.B. degree from Dickinson College 1930 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
He then earned an M.A. degree in 1931 from the Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. in 1940 also from Penn State.
In addition, he pursued supplementary studies at the Weimar-Jena (Germany) Summer College in 1937 and at the Middlebury College German School in 1948.
He taught German language and literature as a faculty member at Penn State from 1931 to 1946.
Subsequently, he served as a professor at Dickinson College from 1946 to 1963 and at Shippensburg State University from 1963 to 1974; at Shippensburg he also chaired the Modern Language Department.
Twice he served as a teacher of English under the Fulbright program in Vienna, Austria in 1951-1952 and in Munich, Germany in 1958-1959.
His professional organization memberships included the Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association, the American Association of University Professors, and the American Association of Teachers of German.
Survivors are one son, John W. (Jack) Weigel II of Ann Arbor, Mich., two daughters, Doris A. Weigel Rockman of Springfield, N.J., Ellen L. Weigel Liberles of Teaneck, N.J., five grandchildren, two step-grandsons and two step-great-grandsons.
His body has been donated to the Penn State Medical Center, Hershey for scientific study.
A memorial service on the Dickinson College campus is being planned for mid-January; details will be announced later.

Born April 16, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Anna Fuerber Bollendorf.
Mr. Bollendorf, a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, life member and past commander of VFW Post No. 6704; past member of Color Guard; National Rifle Association; and West Fairview American Legion.
He was a decorated United States Army veteran of the Korean War receiving Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.
Surviving are his wife, Yvonne, of Mechanicsburg; two sons, Robert of Camp Hill and Donald of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Anna Marie Richcreek of Enola; a brother, William of Reading; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Father Al Sceski will officiate Tuesday's services. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Bowman, a graduate of Evansville University, was a systems analyst for Dayton-Parts, Harrisburg, and a member of the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum.
In addition to his mother, his is survived by two sons, Henry III of Lemoyne and Wayne of Flint, Mich.; a daughter, Darlene of Flint; a brother, Steven of Camp Hill; a sister, Patricia of Wellsville; and two grandchildren.

Wilson L. Beaver, 80, of Mechanicsburg died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1997 at West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Pennsboro Township.
He was born Aug. 24, 1917 in Harrisburg. He was a son of the late Raymond E. and Nettie K. (Stahler) Beaver Sr.
He was the widower of Mary Catherine (Albert) Beaver.
He was a retired postal clerk for the post office in Harrisburg, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the Riverview Golf Club at Defense Distribution Region East, New Cumberland.
He is survived by a sister, Betty E. Finnen of New Cumberland; two brothers, Raymond E. Beaver Jr. of Glyndon, Md. and W. Thomas Beaver of Little River, S.C., and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township.
