John C. Smith
John C. Smith, 76, of Camp Hill, died Monday, June 5, 2001 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
A WWII Army Air Corp Veteran, He was the former owner/operator of Smitty's Fire Protection and Safety Equipment, Lemoyne. He was a former Harrisburg Fire Fighter, a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, and a lifetime member of Alison Hill Men's Republican Club.
He was born January 22, 1925 in Harrisburg to the late John W. and Marion A. (Arnold) Smith.
His wife, Betty Cassatt Smith; a daughter, Sharon S. Hillegas of New Cumberland; two sisters, Jean W. Stouffer of Harrisburg and Frances E. Davis of Elizabethtown; and a grandson, Michael S. Hillegas, Jr., of New Cumberland survive him.
Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.,http://www.parthemore.com New Cumberland. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Neal J. Spatz
Neal J. Spatz, 66, formerly of New Cumberland, PA died Friday June 29, 2001 in Melbourne, FL.
He was a retired Vice President of the Distributor Marketing Division for AMP, Inc., Harrisburg. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1956. There he was a member of the Acacia Fraternity and graduate of ROTC. After graduation he became an officer in the US Air Force. As a young man, he was very active in scouting in the town of Reading, PA where he was born, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He belonged to the Eau Gallie Yacht Club in Indian Harbour Beach and also belonged to the Navy League.
He was born 7/25/34 in Reading, Berks Co., PA to the late Harold R. & Marie (Welter) Spatz Kott.
He is survived by his wife Beverly (Beckley) Spatz; 1 son Gilbert B. Spatz of Houston, TX; 3 daughters, Cynthia M. Cantwell of Collegeville, PA, Sheri L. Ash of Satellite Beach, FL and Laurie Spatz-Roca of Miami Lakes, FL; 6 grandchildren, Joshua & Noelle Ash, Terri-Lynn, Rebecca and Kevin Cantwell and Alex Roca.
Services will be held 11 am Thursday July 5, 2001 in Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland, PA. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Viewing will be one hour prior to services Thursday in the church.

Blaine E. Sorenson
Blaine E. Sorenson, 67, of York Haven, died Sunday, March 11, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was an Army Veteran, Eleventh Airborne Division. He was the owner/operator of Sorenson Electric, York Haven and also worked at International Paper Mill, York Haven. He attended the former New Cumberland High School. He was a member of Newberrytown Church of God, the Fireman's Club, Goldsboro, VFW Post 1095, Etters. He had served as a volunteer coach and umpire for Red Land Little League Baseball and Softball. He was born August 23, 1933 in Newberrytown to the late Nels and Lillie (Brothers) Sorenson.
His wife, Harriet Keener Sorenson; two sons, Keith V. of Etters and Kevin E. of York Haven; a daughter, Lori K. Sorenson of San Diego, CA; and seven grandchildren survive him.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30pm Thursday at his church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberry Twp.
Viewing will be from 5:30 until 7:15pm Thursday at his church.

Parker S. Stone, 61, of Fairview Twp. died Monday, April 23, 2001in his residence.
He was a former employee of the former Cold Steel Co., York, PA.
He was born 11/23/39 in Adams Co. to the late Helen M. and Charles E. Stone.
He is survived by a son Keith E. Stone of York Haven, PA; 2 sisters, Betty R. Harget of Dover and Catherine M. McKee of Spring City, TN; 2 brothers, Charles R. and John E., both of Lewisberry, PA; and 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Newberry Twp.

Chester L. "Chet" Suter
Chester L. "Chet" Suter, 75, of New Cumberland, PA, died Thursday, July 19, 2001 at home.
He was a retired Customer Contact Representative for Pennsylvania Power and Light Company, Harrisburg; a former employee of Saturn, Harrisburg; a protestant; loved cars, airplanes, and all different kinds of music.
He was born April 9, 1926 in Williamsburg, PA to the late Charles and Ora (Shultz) Suter.
He is survived by his wife Janet L. (Showalter) Suter; a son Mark L Suter, New Cumberland; a daughter Anita L. Suter, New Cumberland; and a brother, W. Raymond Suter, Williamstown, NJ.
Funeral services will be held 11am Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. James Schambach, Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill, officiating.
Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Viewing will be 10-11am Monday at the funeral home.

Christian E. Sweeten
Christian E. Sweeten, 20, of Fairview Twp, died Sunday, May 20, 2001 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fairview Twp.
He was an employee of Sweet'N Gro Lawn Care, New Cumberland, a member of Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill.
A loving and caring son of Jerry & Gail Sweeten...and brother of Jeremy E. Sweeten & Faith A (Sweeten) DeRose. Very close with his extended family.
He was a fun-loving, outgoing young man who made friends easily with his manners and good humor. His athletic abilities included golf and skiing...he had been a part-time ski instructor in prior years. He also grew up in the Red Land Soccer Club where he was on the traveling team in the 1980's. Christian also excelled in creative and artistic abilities...he had a passion for designing and building things by hand. He will be missed by all of his family and friends
He was born 2-5-1981 in Harrisburg, PA to Gerald K. and Gail L. (Helmick) Sweeten. In addition to his parents, brother, and sister, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Louise K. Brackett, Lutherville, MD; his maternal grand mother, Phyllis G. Helmick, Camp Hill; a brother in law, Angelo DeRose, Collegeville, aunts and uncles, Calvin and Amy Sweeten, Jr., Kansas City, KA, Marshall Sweeten, Atlantic City, Ernest and Dorothy Helmick, Newberrytown, Amy and Dave Ensminger, Camp Hill, and Ann LeFevre, Etters, cousins, Grant and Jenny McClintock, Nicholas, Benjamin, Jacob, and Erin Helmick, Sarah and Spencer Lefevre, Amanda and Sam Sweeten.
Memorial services will be held 11am Wednesday in his church with Pastor Paul J. Wislocky and Pastor Jamie Kjos officiating.
Visitation will be 10-11am Wednesday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, 2645 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
