Born Oct. 20, 1932 in Plainfield, N.J., he was a retired sergeant in the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
He was a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign War post in Oakhurst, N.J.
He is survived by his wife, Evanette G. France Friese.
Graveside services will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Services for Anderson Leon "Andy" Marcum, 26, of Middlesex Township, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg.
He died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997 in Chester County Hospital, West Chester.
Born July 4, 1971 in Harrisburg, he was a son of Jesse L. Marcum of Kenova, W.Va. and Diana K. Hart Marcum of Carlisle.
Mr. Marcum, a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard, was a carpet cleaner for Chemdry, Enola.
He attended Boiling Springs High School, Cumberland Valley High School and Big Spring Area High School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Hayley Decter of Scranton; his companion, Kimberly Walker; a son, Aaron M. Hershey; a step-mother, Rhoda Marcum of Kenova; four brothers, Dewayne, Keith, John and Marty, all of Huntington, W.Va.; and two sisters, Brenda and Sadie, both of Huntington.
The Rev. Donald L. Frye will officiate Tuesday's services. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Born Feb. 17, 1916 in Dillsburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Ada V. Sheffer Eichelberger.
Mrs. McCauslin was a retired seamstress from Dillsburg Dress Factory and a former cook for the former Long's Restaurant, Dillsburg.
She was a member of Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren, Dillsburg.
Surviving are her husband, Norman McCauslin; two daughters, Donna Gordon of Dillsburg and Joan Adams of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Eugene Eichelberger of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Mary L. Gerber of Dillsburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Richard Cook will officiate at Tuesday's service. Burial will be in Wolgamuth Cemetery, Carroll Township, York County.

Mr. Paulis was a retired farmer and a member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg.
Surviving are two sons, John E., Jr. of Carlisle and Creedin S. of Mechanicsburg; two daughters, Viola Matthews of Elliotsburg and Doris Gochenaur of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, Roy and Ralph, both of Mechanicsburg; three sisters, Pearl Heiges and Mae Morrow, both of Mechanicsburg and Mary Deitch of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Charles E. Randall, 66, of 1227 Blossom Terrace, Monroe Township, and formerly of Gettysburg, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997 at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill.
Born June 14, 1931, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Genevieve Cummings Randall.
A veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired engineer from the Schindler Elevator Division and former employee of the former Westinghouse Elevator Division.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post 109, both of Mechanicsburg.
Surviving are his wife, Mary T. Furey Randall; a son, Michael J. Randall of Monterey, Calif.; a daughter, Arlene Randall Parquette of Chelmsford, Mass.; a brother, Joseph Randall of Pittston; and four grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Township.

Leon F. "Pete" Rutz, 71, of 1004 Redwood Drive, Carlisle, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997 in Carlisle Hospital.
Born July 28, 1926 in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Ruth Birbower Rutz.
He was a former employee of Carlisle Tire and Rubber Co.; a retired employee of United Telephone Co., with 30 years of service; and a part-time employee of Dickinson College.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater with the 66th tank battalion.
He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Carlisle and Telephone Pioneers.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Doris Shatto Rutz; three sons, Barry L. and Donald L., both of Carlisle and Douglas of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Deborah Ann Mentzer of Newville; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Barrick.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle with the Rev. Lynn R. Schultz and the Rev. Wanda L. Veldman officiating.
Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.
