Margarene I. Walters Foster
Margarene I. Walters Foster, 95, formerly of Fairview Twp., died Sunday, September 23, 2001, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle, PA.
She was a member of Lewisberry United Methodist Church, Lewisberry; she was fond of crocheting and plants.
She was born June 15, 1906, in New Cumberland, to the late John and Louisa Miller Pentz. She was the widow of Andrew C. Foster and the Rev. Clarence G. Walters, Sr. She was pre-deceased by a son, Clarence G. Walters, Jr.
Five sons, Harold F., Mechanicsburg, Roy E., Sr., Lewisberry, Wayne R., Sr., Mechanicsburg, Ronald H., Sr., Carlisle, and Gary M., Sr., Enola; 15 grand children and 22 great grand children survive her.
Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Dr. Eddie D. D. Miller, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery, Enola.
Viewing will be 10-11am Thursday at the funeral home.

Frederick M. Gillespie, Jr.
Frederick M. "Fred" Gillespie, Jr., of Lewisberry, Fairview Twp., died Tuesday, July 31, 2001at his home.
He was a Mechanical Engineer with Appleton Papers, Camp Hill and Newton Falls, NY. A graduate of Old Dominion, Norfolk, VA, he was a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Harrisburg. He enjoyed boating, woodworking, and golf.
He was born April 28, 1946 in Harrisburg to the late Frederick M. and Helen (Ekendahl) Gillespie.
His wife, Mary Alice; two sons, Nathan C. at home and Chad E. Shambaugh of York; and a daughter, Wendy L. Etter of York Haven, survive him.
Memorial Services will be held at 7:30pm Friday at Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisberry.
Visitation will be from 6:30pm until time of service Friday at Mt. Zion.

Carroll W. "Jack" Hale
Carroll W. "Jack" Hale, 89, formerly of New Cumberland died Saturday 10/6/01 in Beverly Health Care, Lancaster.
He was a retired Traffic Control Manager for Harrisburg Steel Corp.; a graduate of Harrisburg Business School and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland for over 50 years where he was also a member of the choir; Riverview Golf Club, Fairview Twp. and its Retired Men's League; West Shore Lodge #681, F&AM, Camp Hill; Harrisburg Consistory; Zemo Shrine, Harrisburg; and the Harrisburg Traffic Club.
He was born 8/12/12 in Chambersburg, PA to the late John & Elizabeth (Farner) Hale.
He was the widower of Frances E. (Bauer) Hale and is survived by a son John S. of Lititz and a daughter Carol Crawford of Baltimore, MD; 2 sisters, Irma Spire of Hummelstown and Blanche Stroman of Hummelstown; 2 grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 am Wednesday in his church with the Rev. Robert A. Graybill, his pastor officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Viewing will be from 10-11am Wednesday in the church.

Roger Lawrence Haviland
Roger Lawrence Haviland, 47, of Camp Hill, Fairview Twp., died Monday, September 3, 2001 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a Senior Programmer Analyst for Members First Federal Credit Union, Mechanicsburg. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and Upper Allen Kiwanis Club. He volunteered to help dialysis patients at Dialysis Services of PA in Lemoyne and served as an Ostomy volunteer advisor at Holy Sprit Hospital. He was an assistant leader of Boy Scout Troup 190, Grantham. His passion was computers.
He was born February 1, 1954 in Bedford Ohio. His father, Eddison R. Haviland, predeceased him.
His wife, Carol A. Haviland; mother, Margaret L. Haviland of Garfield, Heights, OH; two sisters, Marilyn L. Katoch of Maple Heights, OH and Joan Marie Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, TX; seven nephews and nieces and ten great-nephews and nieces survive him.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Friday at his church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence officiating. Private entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp.
Viewings will be from 6-8pm Thursday with Scripture services at 8pm and 9:30 to 10am Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland.

Richard A. Heitmueller
Richard A. Heitmueller, 65, of Etters, Newberry Twp. died Wednesday August 29, 2001in his residence.
He was a retired Millright for over 40 years with Miller & Norford General Contractors, Camp Hill and a charter financial supporter of the Pride of the Susquehanna riverboat. He was a member of Yocumtown Church of God, Etters, Newberry Twp.; Bowley's Yacht Club, Baltimore, MD; and Goldsboro Firemen's Club.
He was born 4/25/36 in Conestoga, PA to the late Walter & Bertha (Reif) Heitmueller.
He is survived by his wife Helen (Schropp) Heitmueller; a son Richard E. of Baltimore, MD; 2 daughters, Judy A. Stank and Barbara K. Hake both of Etters, Newberry Twp.; 3 brothers, Walter of Poughkeepsie, NY, Karl of Lancaster and Ernest of New Providence, PA; 4 sisters, Katie Dodds of Mountville, Margaret Leed of Conestoga, Joanne Zimmerman of Lancaster and Rosie Good of FL; 4 grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by a grandchild.
Services will be held 1 pm Tuesday 9/4/2001 in his church with the Dr. Joe Zimmerman, his pastor officiating. Burial will be private in Fetrow's Cemetery, Etters, Newberry Twp.
Viewing will be from 6-8pm Monday in his church.

Gordon F. "Pap" Hock
Gordon F. "Pap" Hock, 77, of Lemoyne, died Thursday at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
He was retired as Assistant Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for Harrisburg School District. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was born November 17, 1923 in Millville to the late Frank and Lois (Houseknecht) Hock. His wife, Geraldine K. Hock; a daughter, Cynthia "Crickett" Blauch of Carlisle; four sisters, Barbara Cees of Beaver Creek, OH, Janet Hock of Muncy Valley, PA, Joan Krause of Wilmington, DE, and Harriet Robbins of Muncy Valley; and two grandchildren survive him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp.
Viewing will be from 9:30am until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Harold C. "Sam" Hoover
Harold C. "Sam" Hoover, Sr., 75, or Camp Hill, and formerly of Butler, died Saturday at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
A WWII Army Veteran of the 79th Infantry he was a retired accountant with the Department of General Services fro the state of Pennsylvania. He was a member of St. Peter's (Hoffman's) United Church of Christ, Lykens, Riverview Golf Club, New Cumberland, and American Legion Post 143 also of New Cumberland. He was an avid golfer.
He was born January 3, 1926 in Loyalton to the late Charles Elwood and Myrl (Grubb) Hoover.
He is survived by his wife, Anne B. Schell Hoover; two sons, Harold C. "Butch", Jr and Todd E. both of New Cumberland; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.
There will be no public viewing or visitation.
