Vance C. Rudy
Vance C. Rudy, 84, of Lewisberry, Fairview Twp., died Sunday, November 11, 2001 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a WWII Marine Corp Veteran and retired Superintendent of Plumbing and Heating at G.R. Sponaugle, Harrisburg. He was a member of Lisburn Church of God and Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union520.
He was born July 23, 1917 in Fairview Twp. to the late William A. and Elizabeth (Shettle) Rudy.
His wife, Beulah M. Anderson Rudy; a son, Vance D. Rudy of Lewisberry and his wife Betty J.; two grandchildren; Sherry Goehring of Middletown and Sandra McDonald of Mechanicsburg; and four great-grandchildren, Dorie and Molly Goehring and Jamie and Tyler McDonald, survive him.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Viewing will be from 10am until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Breanna Nicole Santiago
Breanna Nicole Santiago, 5, of Enola died Friday December 21, 2001 in Philadelphia Children's Hospital, Philadelphia.
She was a kindergarten student at East Pennsboro Elementary School, Enola where she was student of the month for December and enjoyed computers, drawing, Tetris and Yahtzee.
She was born January 3, 1996 in Harrisburg, PA.
She is survived by her parents, Julie Ann Santiago and Ismael Pete Martinez of Enola; a brother Brandon Pete Martinez, at home; her maternal grandparents, Jose Luis & Maria Esther Santiago of Mechanicsburg; a maternal great grandmother Purificacion Abella of CA; 2 aunts, an uncle and several cousins.
Services will be held 7:30 pm Sunday December 23, 2001 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be 10:30 am Monday December 24, 2001 in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp, PA.
Viewing will be from 6-7:30pm Sunday in the funeral home.

Eugene D. Saphore
Eugene D. "Grump" Saphore, 71, of Dillsburg and formerly of Harrisburg died Monday January 28, 2002 in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired welder for the former Elkwood Co., New Cumberland and Vaulk Manufacturing, New Kingston, owner/operator of Dee & Deb's Restaurant, Harrisburg and a Korean War Army veteran. He was a Life member of VFW Post 1718, Penbrook and the American Legion Post 998, Lawnton; a member of Harrisburg Maennerchor Club; Past Commander of VFW Post 1086, Harrisburg; Past President, Past Service Commander and Past Membership Coordinator for the 18th District of the Greater War Veterans Council. He was an avid NASCAR, Dale Earnhart, NFL and Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was born 7/9/30 in Monroe Twp. to the late Daniel & Alice (Greenwood) Saphore.
He was the widower of Deanna S. (Harman) Saphore and is survived by two daughters, Deborah A. Saphore of Dillsburg and Kim Ellen Saphore of Enola; 2 sisters, Theetta Nelson of Chicago, IL and Muriel Dowl of Plainfield; 8 brothers, Daniel of Carlisle, Harold of Newville and Richard, Francis, Paul, Kenneth, Marlin & Glen, all of Monroe Twp.; 3 grandchildren.
Services will be held 10 am Friday 2/1/2002 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp.
Viewing will be from 6-8 pm Thursday in the funeral home.

Alice Shadle-Maurer
Alice Shadle-Maurer, 78, of Camp Hill, died Sunday, December 30, 2001 at her home.
She was a retired Logistics Specialist from the former Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; National Association of Retired Federal Employees; and enjoyed painting and traveling.
She was born July 7, 1923 in St. Michael, PA to the late Michael Blasco and Mary Ann Dubrosky Blasco.
Her husband, John F. Maurer; a brother, Joseph Blasco of Waren, PA; three sisters, Catherine Zeranick of Ambridge, Martha Mactavish of Johnstown, and Mary Osewalt of Wilmore; and several nieces and nephews survive her.
Committal services will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp. with her Pastor, The Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence officiating.

Rolland E. Shuey
Rolland E. Shuey, 76, formerly of Shamokin and Carlisle died Tuesday January 8, 2002 in Pottstown Hospital.
He was a retired security guard for Villa Teresa Nursing Center, Lower Paxton Twp.; a WWII Army veteran; a member of the American Legion; and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Lemoyne.
He was born 10/9/1925 in Shamokin to the late William W. & Anna M (Behrent) Shuey.
He was the widower of Earline R. (Fawber) Anderson Shuey. He is survived by 2 brothers, Carl W. of Lebanon and Robert E. of Shamokin.
Graveside services will be held 1:45 pm Thursday 1/10/2002 in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Karen Wixson Skovrinskie
Karen Wixson Skovrinskie, 50, of Camp Hill, Lower Allen Twp., died Tuesday, November 6, 2001at Harrisburg Hospital.
She was an assistant principal at Red Land High School, West Shore School District. She was an honors graduate of Shamokin High School and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Pennsylvania State University in secondary education. She received her master's degree from Bloomsburg University and was pursuing her Doctorate in Education at Temple University.
She taught English in the Harrisburg schools for fourteen years and at Dauphin County Technical School for thirteen years. She also led several West Shore churches as Choir Director.
Her special interests included music, herbal gardening, and writing.
She was born October 26, 1951 in Danville to the late Dr. Richard J. and Katherine (Adams) Wixson.
Her husband, Michael J.; two sons, Michael M. of Harrisburg and Andrew R. of Grand Rapids, Michigan; two daughters, Katia E. and Jenna M. both at home; two sisters, Dr. Sally K. Wixson of Princeton, NJ and Debbie Diehl of Williamsport; and four nieces and nephews survive her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Saturday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
Visitation will be from 9-10am Saturday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland.

Gail E. Sparrow, 52, of East Pennsboro Twp. died Thursday 11/29/2001 in her residence.
She was a truck driver for Nicholas Trucking, Courtdale, PA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and genealogy research.
She was born 8/18/49 in Milwaukee, WI to the late James A. C. & Lorraine C. (LaMoore) McIntyre.
She is survived by her husband Bernerd J. Sparrow; a daughter Chantal S. Sparrow of Camp Hill; a son Maitland A.C. Sparrow of Camp Hill; a brother, James A. McIntyre of Harrisburg: 2 sisters, Ronna Frank of Milton, Wisconsin and Daris A. Carter of Camp Hill.
Services will be held 8 pm Sunday 12/2/2001 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Inurnment will be 11 am Tuesday 12/4/2001 in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
