Laura W. Swartz, 101, of Camp Hill, PA, and formerly of Hagerstown, MD, died Saturday, November 3, 2001, at Health South, Lower Allen Twp.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Hagerstown, MD.
She was born August 26, 1900, in Damascus, MD, to the late Thomas and Caroline (Carter) Oden.
She was the widow of Austin Swartz. She is survived by a son, Charles T. Swartz, Myrtle Beach, NC; two daughters, C. Virginia Stewart, Camp Hill, and Winifred L. Swartz, Hagerstown; seven grand children; eleven great grand children; four great great grand children.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Byron K. Krapf, officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Visitation will be 10-11am Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.

Helen A. Widhson
Helen A. Widhson, 90, of Manor Care, Carlisle, formerly of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg; she was devoted to her church and the Blessed Mother; she was also devoted and loving to her husband and to her family.
She was born May 9, 1911, in Camden, NJ, to the late George E. and Helen Street.
She was the widow of George E. Widhson, Sr. She is survived by her son, George E. Widhson, Jr., Philadelphia; her daughter, Joan A. Triplett, Mechanicsburg; 8 grand children; 9 great grand children.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2pm Friday at her church with the Rev. Chester P. Snyder as celebrant. Burial will be at Noon on Monday in Rosedale Memorial Park, Ben Salem, PA.
Viewing will be 1-2pm Friday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 400 East Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
Arrangements are being made by Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

Dorothy A. Allison
Dorothy A. Allison of New Cumberland died Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at Franciscan Health Care Center, Bothell, WA.
She was a retired rater for Commercial Union Insurance Company, Mechanicsburg; a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and its Little Flower Club; Seton Club of Harrisburg; and P.A.R.S.E.
She was born 1-19-1921 in Harrisburg, PA, to the late Mariano and Frances (Margio) DiMartino. She was the widow of Paul Clifford Allison.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Allison Hall, Kirkland, WA, and Maryann Allison Eberle, State College; two grand children.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Tuesday in her church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp.
Visitation will be held 6-8pm Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland, with a Scripture Service beginning at 6:30pm.

Elmer E. Altland, Jr.
Elmer E. Altland, Jr., 87, of York Haven (Newberry Twp.) died Wednesday January 23, 2002 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired Assistant Superintendent of Roads for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in addition to being a former foreman for the Fairview Twp. Highway Department. In addition, he worked in the electrical department for Bethlehem Steel Corp., Steelton Plant and was a farmer. He attended Redland Valley Brethern in Christ Church, York Haven where he was a former Sunday School teacher and an avid reader of the Bible.
He was born 11/4/14 in Newberry Twp. to the late Elmer E. and Laura (Miller) Altland, Sr.
He was the widower of Alice (Thompson) Altland and is survived by 3 daughters, Judith A. Keefer of Mechanicsburg, Patricia A. Linn of Fairview Twp. and Laura Beth Nelson of Fairview Twp.; 2 sons, David T. Altland of Newberry Twp. and P. Daniel Altland of Fairview Twp.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 am Saturday 1/26/2002 in his church with the Rev. Philip D. Keefer, his son in law and Pastor Stephen M. Lane, his pastor officiating. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery, Lewisberry.
Viewing will be from 9:30 am until time of service Saturday in the church.

Richard A. "Rick" Anderson, Jr.
Richard A. Anderson, Jr., 44, of Susquehanna Twp., died Thursday,
March 28, 2002, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.
He was the owner/operator of National Mortgage Management, Harrisburg; and a member of The National Association of Mortgage Field Services; Mortgage Banking Assn.; Society of Field Inspectors .
He is survived by his fiancée, Joann Rudolph; his mother, Carol C. Anderson, Harrisburg; and a sister, Beth A. Baltimore, Herndon, VA.
Memorial services will be held 11am Friday, April 5, 2002, in Calvary United Methodist Church, 4700 Locust Lane, Harrisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Psychiatric Center, Post Office Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.

Anne Christine Bender
Anne Christine Bender, 66, of New Cumberland, died Wednesday, February 20, 2002, in Health South, Upper Allen Twp., PA.
She was an employee at the former New Cumberland Army Depot, Fairview Twp.and Mechanicsburg Naval Depot; a retired teacher's aid at Sylvan Heights, Harrisburg and at St. Theresa's Elementary School, New Cumberland; a former employee of St. Theresa Catholic Church Rectory, New Cumberland and Mercy Crest, Harrisburg; a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; enjoyed gardening, reading, and corresponding with her extended family.
She was born July 25, 1935, in Johnstown, PA, to the late Thomas W., Sr. and Anne C. (Plunkett) Bender. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Thomas W. Bender, Jr. and a sister, Nancy L. Coale.
She is survived by two brothers, Richard J. Bender, Dillsburg, and James E. Bender, Clinton, MD; 5 sisters, Joan M. Illig, Dillsburg, Olivia B. Fuhrman, New Cumberland; H. Carole Bender, New Cumberland, Kathryn E. Faraday, New Bern, NC, and Patricia B. Barilla, Bel Air, MD; several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Saturday in her church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30am Saturday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

Lucy Layton Birmingham
Lucy Layton (Seidel) Birmingham, 87, of Camp Hill died Saturday, February 23, 2002 in West Shore Health & Rehabilitation Services, East Pennsboro Twp
. She was a retired sales clerk for the former Pomeroys, Harrisburg; attended Reading Hospital School of Nursing; and was a graduate of Reading High School. She was a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church; PA Council of the Blind; and the Humane Society of Greater Harrisburg.
She was born 9/21/14 in Birdsboro, Berks Co., PA to the late Rev. Grant H. and Lottie L. (Layton) Seidel.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William F. Birmingham; 2 sons, Michael W. of Carlisle and David F. of Camp Hill; 5 grandchildren; a nephew Kenneth P. Hain of Marietta, GA; and was preceded in death by a sister Ethel Hain.
Memorial services will be held 2pm Thursday at her church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
