Rosemary C. Kelly
Rosemary C. Kelly, 87, of Lower Allen Twp., PA, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
She was a retired employee of Blue Shield, Camp Hill; a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; she enjoyed reading, baking, and had a tremendous sense of independence.
She was born March 17, 1915, in Girardville, Schuylkill County, to the late Irwin J. and Catherine (Drummond) Hammon.
She was the widow of Patrick S. Kelly. She is survived by a son, Patrick M. Kelly, Lititz, PA; two sisters, Kathleen M. Cleveland, Harrisburg, and Jeanne R. Kelly, Camp Hill; 6 grand children; 1 great grand child.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2pm Wednesday in her church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence, as celebrant. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp.
Viewing will be 12:30-1:30pm Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland.

SFC Robert "Gus" Kent Kestner
Sergeant First Class, Robert "Gus" Kent Kestner, U.S. Army Retired, 61, of Lower Allen Twp., died Monday, February 18, 2002, at his home.
He was a Decorated Veteran of the Viet Nam War and had also served in Lebanon, and the Dominican Republic. He was a member of the 11th, 101st and 82nd Airborne, and 1st Cavalry. He was Past President of Central Pennsylvania 82nd Airborne Association; Past Commander of and Past President of the Home Association for Lower Allen VFW Post 7530 where he took pride in service as a volunteer in its Honor guard. He was a member of Pemberton Lodge No. 199, F & AM, Burlington, NJ and a 32 degree member of Coudersport Consistory. After retirement from the Army, he worked as Food Service Director for Marriott Food Corporation.
He was born May 23, 1940 in Washington, PA to the late Charles R. and Irene (Phillips) Kestner.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi R. (Carter) Kestner; two sons, Robert Todd Kestner of Carenco, LA and Scott Lewis Kestner of Hickory, NC; two daughters, Jill Renee' Bloor of Lower Allen Twp. and Robin Nicole Kestner of New Cumberland; a brother, John Kestner of Washington; a sister, Judith Sopcak of Washington; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Viewing will be from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Alfred W. Lewis
Alfred Walter Lewis, 93, of New Cumberland, and formerly of York, died Thursday, January 10, 2002 at Woodland Center, Fairview Twp., Lewisberry.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a retired Consultant and Safety Engineer from Noonan Construction of York. He was also an Ornamental Plasterer for Novinger and Wagner Co.; Plaster Foreman for McNulty Bros. where he worked on the Pentagon in Washington, DC when he was inducted in the Navy. He later became the business agent for local 94, OPCMIA, Harrisburg. He was a member of Central Pennsylvania Chapter, American Society of Safety Engineers American Legion Post No. 998, Lawnton, and Community United Methodist Church, New Cumberland.
He was born December 30, 1908 in London, England to the late Alfred John and Winifred Jane (Crimmins) Lewis. In addition to his parents, his wife, Irene J. Schaszberger Lewis and son, Alfred W. Lewis, predeceased him.
His daughter, Joan L. Hastings of New Cumberland; a sister, Mary Yost of York; his daughter-in-law, Roberta R. Lewis; nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three-great-great-grandaughters survive him.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30am Saturday at his church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Joanna L. Lippert
Joanna L. (Wentz) Lippert, 77, of Bethany Village Mechanicsburg died Tuesday February 12, 2002 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, a service of Hospice of Central PA, Susquehanna Twp.
She was a self-employed accountant and retired from the Stewardship Foundation of the Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church and Prouser & Ross, C.P.A.'s, Harrisburg. She was a 1944 graduate of Albright College, Reading, PA. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church, New Cumberland and a founder and leader in her church's Stephen Ministry; the Central PA Conference of the United Methodist Church where over many years she held numerous board and committee positions; the Conference Chapter of the United Methodist Federation for Social Action; Harrisburg Study Club; Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) of Central PA where she was a board member, moderator, and representative of its speaker bureau; and chair of the Religious Activities Committee at Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg, where she resided for the past four years.
She was born 2/27/24 in Emmaus, PA to the late Albert Lewis and Mary Eliza (Weaver) Wentz.
She was the widow of the Rev. William J. Lippert and is survived by a daughter Mary Jeannette Lippert-Coleman and her husband Donald of Lewisburg; 3 sons, William J. Lippert, Jr. and his partner Enrique Peredo of Hinesburg, VT, Timothy A. Lippert and his wife Susan of Wiscasset, ME and Jonathan D. Lippert and his partner Jeffrey Dressler of Harrisburg, PA; a sister Evalyn Wetzel of Coopersburg, PA; 4 grandsons; 2 great grandchildren; and a sister in law Mary Alice Lippert of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, PA.
Memorial service will be held 11 am Tuesday 2/19/2002 in her church with the Rev. Lawrence Focht, her pastor, officiating and the Rev. James Browning, Chaplain of Bethany Village participating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday in the church. A time of gathering for fellowship and refreshments will be held immediately following the memorial service in the fellowship hall of the church.

Raymond V. Mack,
Raymond V. Mack, 74, of Camp Hill, PA, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
He was a retired fleet leasing manager for Motor Truck Equipment Company, Harrisburg; a graduate of Cornell University; an Army veteran of WWII; a member and Elder of Christ Presbyterian Church, Camp Hill; a volunteer for Downtown Daily Bread and Meals on Wheels; a disaster team captain with the PA Capital Region Chapter of the American Red Cross; and a devoted husband, father, and grand father.
He is survived by his wife Florence Graham Mack; a daughter, Jean E. Mack-Fogg, Pittsford, NY; two sons, Andrew G., Wheaton, IL, and Thomas R., Albuquerque, NM; 8 grand children; and a sister in law, Dian Mack, New Castle, New Hampshire.
A memorial service will be held 1:30pm Sunday in his church.
Visitation will be held 12:30-1:30pm Sunday in the church.

Manasi V. Manasiev
Manasi V. Manasiev, 88, of Harrisburg, died Monday, January 28, 2002 at West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was retired as Deputy Minister of Agriculture from the country of Bulgaria.
He was born June 2, 1913 in Iambul, Bulgaria to the late Vratan and Ekaterina Manasiev.
He was the widower of Stiliana Krusteva Manasiva. A daughter, Ekaterina M. Rotz of Camp Hill; a sister, Maria Teneva of Gabarevo, Bulgaria; a grandson, Mark Brochey and great-grandson, Logan Brochey, survive him.

E. Romaine Markelwitz
E. Romaine Markelwitz, 92, of Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle, and formerly of Harrisburg, died Saturday, January 12, 2002 at Carlisle Regional Hospital.
She was a retired executive secretary from the former Gannet, Eastman, and Fleming, Harrisburg. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lemoyne and former member of the former Olivet Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg. She was a graduate of the former Central High School, Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania Business School. She loved to Crochet, especially articles for her grandchildren.
She was born August 18, 1909 in Goldsboro to the late William H. and Anna (Arbaugh) Bingaman. She was the widow of Harold E. Markelwitz and Roger R. Gross.
Three sons survive her, Donald E. Markelwitz of Dillsburg, John E. Markelwitz of Harrisburg, and Roger L. Gross also of Harrisburg; a brother, William Bingaman of New Holland; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday at her church with the Rev. Byron K. Krapf officiating. . Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp.
