Vern J. Brechbiel

Vern J. Brechbiel, 52, of New Cumberland, Pa, found peace on June 16, 2004, after a long battle with diabetes.
He was a faithful husband, a caring father, a loving son, a warrior, and a good man. He was a computer programmer for the former Book of the Month Club. He was also a member of the North American Hunting Club, Fish and Game Commission, and Cumberland County Singers. He volunteered for Pinchot State Park in the Conservation Center and was a baseball coach. He was a member of the Church of God, serving on many committees and holding church offices.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Brechbiel; two sons and their wives, Kirk Brechbiel and Renee Lieux, and Scott and Jillian Brechbiel; his mother, Ruth Brechbiel; his twin sister, Vera Brechbiel; his sister, Lois Kauffman; two brothers, Lynn and Paul Brechbiel; parents-in-law, Ed and Arlene Palmer; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; twelve nieces and nephews; and many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his son, Erich Brechbiel and his father Charles Brechbiel.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Silver Springs Presbyterian Church, with a memorial service beginning at 11 am.

Dorothy S. Gastrock

Dorothy S. Gastrock, 93, of Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp., and formerly of Camp Hill, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at the village.
She was a retired bookkeeper for the former Harrisburg location of Christian Publications; a former operator for Bell Telephone Co., Harrisburg; and was a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church, Camp Hill. Mrs. Gastrock was born April 25, 1911, in Harrisburg, to the late Harry R. and L. Pearl Ream. She was the widow of Benjamin Curtin Gastrock.
Surviving is a son, Terry L. Gastrock and his wife Gail L., Punta Gorda, FL; two grandchildren, Keith D. Gastrock and his wife Michelle, Mechanicsville, VA, and Karen L. Rupnik and her husband, David, Camp Hill; four great grandchildren, Kaitlin M. Gastrock, Benjamin M. Gastrock, Matthew J. Rupnik, and Nicole E. Rupnik.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Marilyn L. Ebersole officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Visitation will be held 1-2 pm Monday in the funeral home.

E. Dianne Olson, 61, of Mechanicsburg died Friday at Harrisburg Hospital.
She was a retired Yardmaster from ISG, formerly Bethlehem Steel, Steelton. She was a member of the steel worker’s union; a consummate poker player; and an avid bowler who enjoyed traveling. She was born December 11, 1942 in Houston, TX to the late John William and Emma Jeanne Dawson Harboldt.
She is survived by her life partner, Sharon K. Kelly; two sons, Brian D. Olson of Mechanicsburg and Chad A. Olson of Palmyra; a brother, John W. Auber-Harboldt, Jr. of Providence, RI; two sisters, Jama Carlton of Wichita, KS and Pamela K. Auber-Simonel of Arlington, VA; and four grandchildren, Tori, Justin, Brian, and Gavin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., New Cumberland. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp. Viewing will be from 5 to 8pm Monday at the funeral home.

Charles A. Reynolds

Charles A. Reynolds, 88, formerly of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.
He was the widower of Mary T. Tarko Reynolds. Surviving is a brother, a sister, four nephews, and a niece.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
Richard W. Prouty
June 20, 2004
Chief Warrant Officer-4, Richard W. Prouty, U.S. Army, Ret., 72, of Camp Hill died Sunday June 20, 2004 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired helicopter, jet and airplane pilot with the U.S. Army with 32 years of service and three tours of Vietnam, serving from 1951 through 1981. After retiring from military service he flew corporate helicopters and jets for Rite Aid Corp. for 12 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Ithaca High School, NY and a 1973 graduate of Emory Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL. Chief Prouty was also a member of VFW Post #6704, Mechanicsburg. Chief Prouty was born October 12, 1931 in Ithaca, NY to the late Everett and Christine (Miller) Prouty.
He is survived by his wife Ofelia (Payongayong) Prouty; 3 daughters, Dixie L. Wood and Christie Blow, both of Orlando, FL and Stacey Prouty of Crestview, FL; a son David E. Prouty of Orlando, FL; a step daughter Dorothy Parent of Newburg, NY; a stepson Ernesto P. Jose of Lake Meade, East Berlin, PA; 2 sisters, Kathleen Galt of Port Ritchie, FL and Barbara Drake of Ocala, FL; 5 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or visitation. Private burial with military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Deliliah Jean Bainbridge

Deliliah Jean Bainbridge, 30, of Goldsboro died Tuesday June 29, 2004 in her residence.
She was a former waitress and a member of Goldsboro Church of God. She was born May 4, 1974 in Minneola, TX.
She is survived by her parents, Nancy Sue (McGullion) and Edward D. Schlemmer of Goldsboro; a son James Anthony Bainbridge of Strinestown; 2 daughters, Desiree Nichole Grove, at home and Samantha Louise Bainbridge of Strinestown; 3 brothers, Sammy Lynn Stone, Jr. of Comstock, MI, Edward Duane Schlemmer, Jr. of York Haven and James Dean Schlemmer of Dover.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Thursday July 1, 2004 in her church with the Rev. Gerald Fox officiating. Committal will be at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received one hour prior to service Thursday in the church.

Ann B. Quidort

Ann B. Quidort of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania passed away June 28, 2004 in Holy Spirit Hospital.
She was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 3, 1935 along with a twin sister, Lynn, who predeceased her. Her parents were Dr. and Mrs. William T. Backus, DDS.
She is survived by her husband of forty seven years, David G. Quidort, her two sons, two daughters-in-law, three grandsons and one granddaughter
Ann attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from Ohio State University. She was a former librarian but stopped working when her first son, David, Jr. now of Apex, North Carolina was born followed by son, William, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Ann was an avid golfer and bridge player for many years, a prolific reader and loved doing crossword puzzles. She was a fifty-year member of Delta Gamma and a long-time member of The Country Club of Harrisburg.
A Celebration Service of Ann’s life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 4:15 p.m. in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:30 until time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
